Stripedfeather
Broken hearts and last goodbyes Restless nights But lullabies helps make this pain go away I realize I let you down Told you that I'd be around I'm building up the strength just to say
Stripedfeather's lithe form seeked out her older sister, Dragonflydance, as she entered into the camp. When she couldn't see her outside, she knew she'd be in her den, as usual. Stripedfeather padded over to the medicine den and gently placed Palegust on the ground. Dragonflydance? She called into the dark den. Dragonflydance!! Palegust, he's been hurt by a tree branch!! Can you help him? She called, hoping her sister could hear her.
As she waited for her sister, the young femme calmed down. As she did, she realized what she had done. She saved a tom who she despised, and why? She had no reason. Palegust had brought nothing but pain to her, so why would she save him? Then it clicked. It wasn't Palegust she was saving, she was saving Mountainwind's brother. She knew it. She finally realized it. Stripedfeather loved Mountainwind. Now she just had to tell him.
She looked at the limp form of Palegust, hoping he would live. Just as she looked at him, another crash of thunder hit, and it all went silent. She could hear nothing but the gears grinding in her mind. She was so confused. She had already told herself she wouldn't love a tom until she was a seasoned warrior, but she couldn't help herself. She knew she loved him, now she just had to tell him.
ooc;; WHOO!! Massive post right there. : D

~Mountainwind~ Mountainwind had been lingering outside of the camp entrance for two minutes as everything had gone through his mind at once. He forced himself to sit down and think everything through, to realize what all had happened. The rain was still pouring down but he wasn't even aware of it anymore, wasn't aware of anything except for thoughts rushing through his head.
He almost lost his own brother, though so much conflict ran between them. Everything had changed after they became apprentices, and he was half aware of that being mostly his fault. He pushed Palegust away, just as he had pushed his own sister, Morningbreeze away, but she had understood him where Palegust didn't. Now he regretted it all, pushing his brother away like he did. Maybe after this, just maybe, things might change a bit. Not like a total I forgive you thing, but maybe there might be a little more respect between the two.
Without realizing it his thoughts drifted to Stripedfeather. She was a stunning she-cat to him and he couldn't help but feel drawn to her. He started to recall the way she had poked her head in that log to see if he was alright, and she was even willing to listen to his problems. Then she surprised him even more when she helped to save his brother who had spat on her on the rolling hills. Finally the thunder had cracked through the air making him jump, but it seemed far away now, like the storm was beginning to ease off.
He ran through the tunnel to find Stripedfeather and Palegust outside the medicine cat den, waiting patiently for Dragonflydance. His gray-green eyes looked at the she-cat with new found love. "Thank you so much for helping to rescue my brother, despite the things he had said." He pressed his muzzle into Palegust's side to make sure he was still breathing.
Ooc:// Dang, I had a lot of muse![/sub]

I feel the gust of pain, Pushing me aside. Bringing me to a new pale light, The one of hope.
Palegust Palegust was dimly aware of the trek home from the fallen tree. He had his eyes shut, teeth grinding from the pain. He knew that Stripedfeather was trying not to cause him pain, but it didn't matter. Any sort of tremor sent a pain searing through his back. He moaned quietly, betraying the pain that he had kept bottled up for all those moons. He felt himself being put down gently. He opened his eyes at last.
Palegust gazed at the cats who saved his life. 'Stripedfeather. Mountainwind. I'm sorry.' He mewed quietly. He looked back around him. He noticed that the camp wasn't very loud. Everyone must be sheltering. He thought to himself. All of a sudden, there was a loudcrack of thunder. Palegust jumped a little, causing pain to arise from his back and paw. He muffled a grunt.
Palegust watched his brother approach Stripedfeather. He heard him speak, then Palegust called him over. 'Mountainwind. Come here, please.' He asked. He had to talk to his brother. He knew that he didn't get along very well with Mountainwind, but he didn't want that anymore. During that time out at the tree, when Mountainwind heard him calling, Paelgust felt as though the kinship from when they were kits had come back.
Palegust waited for his brother to come over. He wanted to tell him sorry, he wanted to let him know that he was truly sorry for tonight. That he was truly sorry for everything. [/sup][/blockquote]

dragonflydance Dragonflydance was busy in her den, sorting out piles of herbs. Her thoughts were still on Oleandergaze. She sent a quick prayer to StarClan, her sky blue eyes tight shut. She begged them to let him see his kits become apprentices. The slim white she-cat set aside a small pile ready for the grey tom, and turned to take it to him, when the scent of blood and pain hit her full on in the face. The she-cat pricked up her ears in alarm, and even before Stripedfeather spoke, she was gathering cobwebs and thyme. Dragonflydance exited her den, her long tail held high behind her. She tutted softly as she caught sight of the state Palegust was in. "Dear oh dear," she murmured, before beginning to plaster cobwebs over his most obvious wounds. She then gently turned him over and began examining the rest of his shivering body.
"Does it hurt anywhere else?" she asked him in her gentle, kind tones. Dragonflydance looked up at Stripedfeather and Mountainwind. She noticed the looks on their faces as they pressed close to one another. She couldn't help smiling.

Palegust
Palegust looked at Dragonflydance as she put stuff on his cuts. He winced slightly at the pain. He heard her question. 'My back. And my paw. I think it's this one.' He moved his back right paw slightly, then winced with pain. 'Yeah, that one.' He mewed. He tried to move slightly so Dragonflydance could examine him better, but winced again because of the pain. dragonflydance The white she-cat continued to examine the bleeding, injured warrior, her blue eyes soft and concentrative. She ran her nose along his back, pressing ever so slightly. The bone felt intact. "Your back is just bruised," she mewed. "You won't be able to walk for a while." She nodded as the tom mentioned his paw. Dragonflydance padded around his prone body to look at it. She could tell by the look of it that something was wrong, but she still pressed her nose lightly to it, just to be sure. The medicine cat drew back. "Your paw's broken," she told the warrior. She smiled gently at him. "You're going to be in my company for a while," she cheerfully told the tom. She turned back to Mountainwind and Stripedfeather. "Sorry to interrupt," she mewed, a twinkle in her eye. "But would you mind carrying Palegust into the den for me? I need to make a nest for him."
The slim white she-cat padded back into her den, and scraped some clean, soft moss together to make a satisfactory nest for Palegust. She then waited, her ears perked.

~Mountainwind~ The gray-brown tom padded looked up at his brother, relived that he was alright. "I'm here, brother." He then stepped back for a moment to allow Dragonflydance to over look Palegust's bleeding body. He was relieved that nothing was broken and moved over to help his brother. "Can you lean on me and walk? Or should we carry you?" He asked him.

cometpaw The slowly maturing medicine cat apprentice stood a few pawsteps behind her mentor, unsure of were to step in, where to help. She had been doing a few small tasks here and there, trying her best to do her share of work. Her flowing tail hung limply by her side as she felt useless, trailing after her mentor like a kit to her mother. The she cat's glowing amber-green eyes blinked gently at Palegust, the cat Dragonflydance was dutifully checking over at this particular moment as she observed what herbs she used for the broken paw.

I feel the gust of pain, Pushing me aside. Bringing me to a new pale light, The one of hope.
Palegust
Palegust looked up at his brother. 'I guess I should try to walk. Let's see how bad the damage is.' Palegust was starting to get back some of his energy, so he started to talk normally. He looked down at his paw, then back up at his brother. For the first time since he was a kit, Palegust felt glad that he had a brother. He smiled up at his brother, yes, a smile, not a mocking one.
Palegust planted his front paws firmly on the ground. He pushed on them, dragging himself up. He placed his back left paw under him, then stuck out the broken one. He started to fall and quickly leaned against Mountainwind. He grinned at his brother. 'Heh, now I know why your name is Mountain. Heh.' He chuckled, then tried to walk again. He managed one step, then fell in a slump. He looked at his brother. 'I think I may just need help there. I can walk, but I think I may need to lean against a shoulder.' This was his way of asking for help. He pulled himself up and waited for Mountainwind's response. [/blockquote]

~Mountainwind~ The warrior gave his brother an encouraging smile as he watched Palegust try to stand. Mountainwind was there when Palegust lost balance and chuckled at his joke, which for once wasn't mocking and actually a little funny. He then watched as his brother fell and asked for help and immediately Mountainwind was at his brothers side. He allowed Palegust to lean on him as they both walked over to the nest Dragonflydance had made for him.

I feel the gust of pain, Pushing me aside. Bringing me to a new pale light, The one of hope.
Palegust Palegust leaned against his brother's shoulder gratefully as they made their way to his temporary nest. It was a slow trek, as Palegust was not used to not being able to use all four paws. He made it to his nest and flopped down. 'Thanks, Mountainwind! I'm gonna be so bored in here for a while, so you better visit!' He mewed playfully. He adjusted himself in his nest, so he could fall asleep better. 'Wait, where's our sister, Morningbreeze? Does she know I'm hurt? Oh, she might be worried!' Palegust fretted.
It seemed as though Palegust was starting to care for his siblings again. Did his near death experience chane something in his mind? Did he bump his head? Palegust seemed to like his brother again. Palegust may have had a revelation while he was pinned underthe tree. [/sup][/blockquote]

~Mountainwind~ "She's probably asleep in the Warriors den right now, but after she wakes up I'll let her know of what happened." Mountainwind forced back the tears of joy that he felt from the way Palegust was treating him. He knew his sister would be over joyed when she found out about their brothers sudden change of heart.

Palegust Palegust looked up at his brother. 'Okay. Hey, while I'm in here recupperating, can you come and visit me as much as possible? We should eat together, too, while you tell me about your day! I need something to stop me from being so bored!' He joked. He stole a glance at Dragonflydance. He wondered if she heard him. All of a sudden, Palegust let out a huge yawn. 'Wow, I'm tired.'
Palegust tried to get more comfortable in his nest. He lookedback up at his brother. 'Thanks, really, for saving me.' He mewed. [/sup][/blockquote]
