;; Lavenderlace and Hyenastrike only at first, but this can also be the thread for Snowflake to have her kits later on.Runningcloud // Morning had arisen as if nothing had happened earlier. Runningcloud had been sitting at the entrance of the medicine cat den ever since before the sun had risen, and now the gargoyle had to break free from her statuesque shell to perform her duties like she had been doing ever since she had opened her eyes. She stretched and groomed herself, flicking her tail as she padded over to the fresh-kill pile and retrieved a piece for her and Lavenderlace, along with pieces for her patients. "We're training today."
The colossal ginger decided to return to the warrior's den and wake up Hyenastrike, her somewhat-former apprentice. She had finished his training off when Pastelsky had become pregnant with Mouseclaw's kits. Mouseclaw. It pained her to think of the warrior that had guided her to the Moon Shard.
"Hyenastrike, arise. I need you," she said, hovering over him until he opened his eyes.We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days... Through the fire and the flames we carry on! [/blockquote]

"Ah, that's good," she meowed accepting the peice of prey from her mentor eagerly. Some warrior training would be good; it could help her if there was another battle. She still had the scars from the last one, when she had been knocked unconcious. She didn't like to think about it, really. Scarfing down her vole, she stretched and padded out into the open. Was Runningcloud getting a warrior to help with her training? The ginger female couldn't help but feel excited, like she had when she was originally apprenticed to Peanutdrift - a late warrior killed in the battle against the Tribe. What had made her become medicine cat apprentice? Was there something special about her? The sun warmed her back and she smiled for the first time in a long time. Today was a day to be thankful for. She had to cherish it... and try to be happy. She was going to get trained like a warrior, what more could she want? She would be able to fight and heal.
She waited quietly at the entrance to camp, keeping her eyes on Runningcloud's bulky form - so different from her own slim tabby body. [/blockquote]

hyenastrike The muscular form of Hyenastrike was curled on his nest in the warriors' den. His eyes were closed, his nose tucked beneath his tail, with all the appearance of sleep. But in fact he was wide awake. Thoughts were swimming in his mind behind the shut eyelids. Thoughts about Octoberlies. The father he had never known he had. But not just him, not just the cinder-coloured tabby he had come to hate. He was thinking about Otterspirit, the CloudClan she-cat he had met at the Gathering. What she had said... About her mate, Barrenclaw. Octoberlies had said that Hyenastrike had had a brother named Barrenkit. And Treekit, and Barleykit. And Otterspirit had said Barrenclaw had a brother called Treebranch, and a sister called Barleyfeather. Could it be... Could he possibly have kin in CloudClan? Kin he had never know about?
How could Octoberlies kept it from him for so long? His brow furrowed in anger. At that moment he heard a fuzzy voice. The tom snarled, and raised his head. He grunted an apology when he recognized Runningcloud. He was particularly fond of the medicine cat - she had finished his training when he had been an apprentice, when Pastelsky had moved to the nursery. Thinking about the tortoiseshell made his heart ache, so he covered up the painful thoughts. He stood up, stretching. "What is it?" he mewed. Suddenly he growled. "If it's anything to do with Octoberlies, I don't want to know."

Snowflake[/font][/size]
Now I'm speechless, over the edge of this, breathless, I never thought that I'd catch this love bug again
Snowflake was hurting. She had no idea what was to come. All she knew was that her stomach was hurting, badly. She tried to call out, but the pain hurt her. She summoned up all her strength and called into the quiet morning's air, Octoberlies!! Runningcloud!! But when they didn't come, she staggered into the medicine cat's den and fell into a nest.
It was time. She could tell. She was going to give birth. As she lay there, ripples followed her body to her tail tip, and she was in agony. She squeezed her eyes shut and prayed that Octoberlies and Runningcloud would be there soon. She felt something move and suddenly there was a kit. She grabbed it and licked it clean until it was breathing. She smiled tiredly at it as she waited for her mate and medicine cat.
Another kit came, and she cleaned it as well. Now she was getting very tired and just wanted to sleep. But she fought the urge to sleep. She knew there were more kits, but they weren't coming yet.

octoberlies Octoberlies was just outside camp. A pigeon lay at his paws. He was waiting. He wasn't sure what to do. Guilt was weighing in his chest like a heavy stone. He couldn't believe he had been so naive to think that Hyenastrike would forgive him for keeping the secret hidden for so long. His son didn't even want to know him anymore. Octoberlies hung his head. The thin silver tabby got to his paws, picking up the dead bird, and entered the camp again. He heard Runningcloud, and saw Lavenderlace outside the warriors' den. He dropped the pigeon on the fresh kill pile, and nodded respectfully to the young medicine cat. Octoberlies was about to turn and pad into the nursery to see Snowflake, when he heard her yowl. His ears flew upright. He could see her now, hobbling to the medicine den. He rushed to her side, supporting her.
When they reached the den, he helped her into a den, then began grooming her ears rapidly. This was reminding him agonizingly of Butterflypaw's birthing. But he pushed it away. That was in the past. This was now. "It's alright, Snowflake," he murmured. "It'll all be fine. Runningcloud's coming." He turned, to see Hyenastrike in the clearing. He averred his eyes quickly, looking back at his pained mate.

ooc;// .__.;; Um...guys, when I meant later on, I kinda meant during the training. Runningcloud'll be too tired to train after this... ^^;bic;// Runningcloud // Runningcloud frowned deeply and cuffed Hyenastrike over the ear. "Who do you think you're talking to, young man?" the medicine cat demanded.
Her ears perked as her named was screamed, and the massive medicine cat scowled lightly. "What now?" she growled. She turned to Lavenderlace and then to Hyenastrike. "You are going to train my apprentice in battle structure today. After I see what the issue is, I'll try my best to meet up with you two later." Before Hyenastrike could give a yes or no, the colossal she-cat turned and galloped out of the warrior's den.
She skidded into her den and meowed irritably. "What is going on?" She saw Octoberlies and Snowflake, and knew immediately that the she-cat was kitting. The ginger femme turned and ran to get thyme, quickly ripping it up and giving it to the she-cat along with some water. She examined each kit carefully as it exited the womb. aloepaw "Runningcloud? Lavenderlace?"
The tom's quiet voice pealed into the medicine cat den, earning him a swift, cold turn from the ginger she-cat. Aloepaw smiled slightly, pausing to catch his breath. "A patrol found Mousepaw hurt by a rogue in the territories. They wanted me to warn you that they were coming with her."
The she-cat turned to Lavenderlace and then sighed, feeling a bit irritable. "Alright, Lavenderlace, you handle this case Aloepaw's talking about. Hyenastrike, I'm sorry to wake you from your nap. I didn't know all of this was going to come on." The female turned to Aloepaw. "Get that bed over there ready."
The creamy tom nodded absently and padded over to the bed, getting it ready for Mousepaw and bringing out the herbs that Runningcloud gestured to before she sent him back out to Brindletalon and the others. We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days... Snowflake
I'm sorry, For breaking all the promises I wasn't around to keep. It's all me, This is the last I will ever beg you to stay. But you're already on your way.
Snowflake's tired frame heaved again as a third kit exited her body. She screeched in agony as another left her. But there was snomething wrong with it. It was two kits attached! She knew she was done, and she dropped her head in exhaustion. She lifted it and examined all over her kits, then nudged them towards her stomach. She looked up at Octoberlies. We're parents. She purred tiredly.

octoberlies The tom gave Snowflake a weak smile and ran a tongue over her ears. "They're..." He paused to look at the connected kits and a pang of horror slapped his heart. StarClan was punishing him, weren't they? He swallowed a lump in his throat and shook his head, inhaling deeply as he finished his sentence. "They're beautiful." He turned to Runningcloud, concern in his eyes as the silver tabby approached her. He saw her brow furrowing. "Is something wrong with them? Will they be okay?"Runningcloud // She had never seen anything like this before. The she-cat panted slightly, trying to figure out how she could get the kits apart. The massive fae looked up at Octoberlies. "I will try to fix it," she said quietly. "For now, I need you to go outside." There was so much noise going on that she couldn't concentrate.
Runningcloud lifted her paw and unsheathed her claws as she towered over the twins. She looked up at Snowflake. "I need you to be as quiet as you can be, alright?" She needed as much focus as she could if she was going to sever the bones of connected kits.We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days... Through the fire and the flames we carry on! Snowflake
Filled with sorrow, Filled with pain, Knwoing that I am to blame, For leaving your heart out in the rain.
Snowflake reached up and touched Octoberlies' muzzle with her own. Thank you. She whispered to him. She was grateful he had shown up to support her. She remembered his first mate, and how hard it must've been for him and struggling with the memories. She nodded her head. I'll see you in a bit. She nodded to Runningcloud, her eyes wide as she watched what the large she-cat was going to do. She wanted to shove her away, but she knew Runningcloud was only doing what she knew was right.

octoberlies "What..." Octoberlies paused, looking at Runningcloud and then at Snowflake. "Ah...you're welcome, Snowflake. I...love you." He smiled; as he turned away, he sighed slightly and nodded, padding outside the medicine den and curling his tail around his paws. He unsheathed his claws and made himself content with staring at them to avoid doing anything else.[/color][/sub] Runningcloud // Runningcloud nodded to Octoberlies and then faced the two kits, getting down on her belly to properly examine the tiny creatures. Her long hooked claw was longer than their ears. She sighed and held the tomkit down gently so that he wouldn't wriggle while she began to cut their limbs apart from each other. Blood speckled Runningcloud's nose and the kits began to squeal in pain, but she ignored them, focusing on the task. She leaned in and bit down nimbly to pierce and break the bones before retreating and continuing on cutting the skin.
The medicine cat sighed heavily and ran to retrieve a poultice to begin wrapping the twins' now-seperate flanks to protect from infection and set the bones so they would heal.
She looked up at Snowflake, running a ginger paw over her muzzle. "Congratulations on your litter." She smiled tiredly, shifting her weight as she gently moved the two kits closer to their mother. "I'm going to need you to stay in here for a bit while the two heal. Do you have names for them?" We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days... "Right, Runningcloud," she meowed, not to happy at the thought of an apprentice covered in blood but still ready to treat whatever came her way. Swishing her tail over the mossy ground, she tried not to think about Snowflake - who had, apparently, been rather close to her mother - and her kitting, focusing on the task at hand. The she-cat grabbed a few bundles of herbs and laid them down, realizing the there was no reason to have thyme there if she was unconcious... or was there? Either way, she made sure she knew where the thyme store was as she laid the herbs down by the nest that was built for Mousepaw. [/blockquote]

hyenastrike The big ginger tom blinked meekly at Runningcloud. "Sorry," he muttered sheepishly. The muscular tom heard a yowl, and lifted his head, pointed ears pricked. His expression turned stony as he watched Snowflake hobble across the clearing. Moments later, Octoberlies flew from the bracken, and appeared at his mate's side. Hyenastrike set his teeth. He glared at the pair, his tail lashing angrily from side to side. He nodded sharply at Runningcloud's words, and wrenched his angry gaze away from his father and Snowflake. He looked at Lavenderlace, trying to clear his expression. He didn't want to unnerve the kindly medicine cat. "Right, well..." Before he could even get started, Runningcloud was back. The tom sighed. He wasn't needed here anymore, so he may as well do something useful.
He flicked his tail in goodbye to Lavenderlace, and trotted out of the camp. He didn't want to witness this. He didn't even want to see the kits that were his half-siblings. Somewhere, deep inside, he knew they were innocent, but he still loathed them. One thought rang through his skull, the emoion showing on his badly-scarred face. Why did he want them? Why did he want them, but not me? octoberlies The grey tabby tom crouched outside the medicine den, his tail twitching in worry. He could feel Hyenastrike's eyes on him, but tried to ignore it. He had more pressing issues to deal with right now. He winced as he heard the tinny squeal of kits in pain. The tom felt like whimpering. He thought of the tiny, squirming kits, two attached together. It was his fault, and he knew it. A punishment, for hurting Hyenastrike so badly. Why don't they ever hurt me? Why my kits? First Hollykit, now these kits! Thinking of his beloved, deceased daughter made his heart ache. He pushed away the tears. He had to think about what was happening now, not the past. The cinder-coloured tom got to his paws as the squealing ceased. Was that good? Or bad? He could bear it no longer.
"Runningcloud? Can I come in?" his voice was pleading. He had to see if Snowflake and the kits were okay. He had to know if he had done any further damage to the tiny, newborn litter.

When you look me in the eyes, I catch a glimpse of heaven. I find, My paradise, When you look me in the eyes.
Snowflake looked at her five kits, then looked up at Runningcloud. As she waited for the answer from the large she-cat, she began to clean her kits. Runningcloud, can he come in now? I'd really like to see him. She meowed. And I have some names in mind, but I want to know what Octoberlies thinks. She smiled gratefully up at the medicine cat. Thank you for helping me. And my kits. She purred gratefully.

octoberlies The grey tom waited anxiously outside the medicine den, his cerulean eyes wide and scared. His chest ached fiercely with the weight of his worry. He would never forgive himself if one of the kits, one of the poor little kits, was dead, or injured. The warrior nearly leapt in the air as Runningcloud allowed him in. The tom stepped forward as she passed him, pressing his nose shakily to her shoulder. "Thankyou for helping us," he murmured sincerely. Octoberlies then ran into the den, ferns brushing his striped tabby pelt. The tom's eyes widened when he spotted his mate. She was curled up on a soft nest, five kits - five live, squirming, squealing kits - at her side. The tom's eyes softened and filled with warmth as he took in the appearance of each tiny kit. The first was a tabby, like him. The second and third were the two that had been attached. But now they were seperate, wrapped in poultices. The first was misty white, with brownish markings, the second the same white, but with silvery markings. The next kit was a large, dark brown tabby, and the last a creamy brown and white ball of fluff.
Octoberlies ventured forward and pressed his cheek against Snowflake's. "They're..." He swallowed. "Perfect." He looked down at them, happiness showing in his eyes. "Do you have name idea's?" he asked, his ears pricked high.

Snowflake
Snowflake looked up tiredly as Octoberlies walked in. She smiled happily at him. They were now parents. Well, she was anyway. Octoberlies was already a parent. Snowflake's eyes softened as she looked at the five kits with her, and licked Octoberlies' cheek. I know. She laughed softly. I do have names. This one that looks like you, he looks like a Bambookit. These two that were connected look like a Sealkit and Sequoiakit. You name the other two. She told him, before glancing up at him. I know it must've been hard for you to be here. You probably saw Butterflypaw giving birth, and I completely understand. Thank you so much for being here, though. It means the world to me. She looked up at him, before reaching up and brushing muzzles with him.

octoberlies Octoberlies smiled at the names. The little grey tabby seemed to squirm happily as Snowflake spoke his name. Bambookit. Yes. It was perfect. He leant forward and licked the tiny copy of himself between the ears. He then listened intently to Snowflake's next words. Sequoiakit... Yes, that was perfect for his silvery pelt. And Sealkit. Yes, they fit like two pieces in a puzzle. The tom looked uncomfortable as Snowflake asked him to name the other two kits. He named Hyenastrike and Hollykit when they were tiny kits. He could do it now, for these kits. Octoberlies carefully examined the thickset tabby. He looked as though he would be powerfully built one day, like Hyenastrike. All that power, coiled in a tiny kit... It reminded him of a poisonous snake. Not looking that dangerous, but when they strike... "Um, Pythonkit, for this one?" he tapped the biggest kit with his tail. He then turned to look at the last kit. She had a fluffy pelt that reminded him of a plant he had seen once. He bit his lip. He didn't remember whether the plant was tansy, or juniper, or something else... Greenkit? Leafkit, maybe? Or Springkit?
He thought deeply of the colour... It wasn't emerald... He had it! "Kellykit, for her?" Sequoiakit, Sealkit, Bambookit, Kellykit and Pythonkit. Heb looked at each one. He sent a prayer to StarClan that nothing bad would happen to them because of him.

Snowflake nodded happily as he chose the names. Those are perfect, She murmured. I wonder when I get to move back to the nursery? She asked aloud. Maybe when Sequoiakit and Sealkit are better? She asked. Snowflake's eyes took in each form of her five kits. She was tired, yes, but happy. And she definetely didn't want Octoberlies leaving yet. She looked up at him and smiled happily, then looked back down at the kits. She would definetely care for these better than her mother had with her.
