His fluffy little tabby body could barely be seen in the dark corner of the nursery, sulking. He had gotten in trouble for wandering too far again. Why wouldn't his mother just learn that he could care less about the rules? He could hear Deerkit before he saw her. Her little giggles sending her into hysterics all because of Larchkit's stupid little jokes. That aren't funny,

[/color] he thought to himself grumpily. He could see his mother sitting up from her nap. She smiled softly and a bit worriedly at Adderkit. "You may go outside and play. Just be careful," she emphasized her last three words but the tom was out of there before he could hear them. Cherrysmoke sighed, and of course he didn't hear that either.

A little mischievous smile played across his face as he noticed Larchkit and Deerkit. Deerkit was still giggling maniacally. "What's wrong Tickle-Me-Deerkit, you got a moth fluttering in your throat or something? he sneered, pushing Deerkit with his paw, not harshly but not gently. She toppled over slightly, mostly due to her laughter. Autumnkit was immediately by her side, growling as best he could at Adderkit. "What's your problem, Adderkit? Why do you have to be so mean?" The brown tabby tom's brow raised in slight distaste, "What the heck did I do?! She's not even hurt!"

When Deerkit seemed to recover she patted her brother's paw. "Stop Autumnkit, he didn't do anything," she whispered quietly. Autumnkit hesitated slightly then sighed, "Fine, I'm sorry Adderkit." Adderkit smiled, "That's more like it," the little tom strutted off in the other direction. Larchkit quickly came up to him, ruining his valiant mood. "Heyheyhey, you wanna hear a joke?" he pestered the brown tabby. "No," Adderkit said through clenched teeth. Larchkit didn't seem to hear because he told the joke anyway. "Why did the warrior cross the road?" he asked. "Because he was stupid!" Adderkit growled, pushing Larchkit aside harshly.

Adderkit had been practicing his growls whenever his siblings were at play. And perfected them. So he was most likely the only kit with a perfect growl. The brown tabby tom adventured around camp, looking inside dens and under rocks. He could hear his siblings catcalls and tattletales. He didn't care if they told on him. They always did and he was used to it. The tom came as close to the entrance of camp before he was swooped up by the scruff. He struggled greatly, "Hey, lemme go! I didn't do nothin' wrong!" he cried. "Yeah, that's what you think," he recognized Blizzardhawk's voice.

He dropped Adderkit off at the nursery entrance. "Now go inside and explain to your mother why you ran off again." Adderkit grumbled quietly as he stalked back into the nursery. You could hear their arguing through-out the whole camp as Adderkit explained himself and his mother shunned him.

He padded about the clearing, his fluffy form bobbing about as he moved. Hazel eyes flicked here and there, as if he actually knew what he was doing. Eventually, they rested on the apprentices' den. Halting beside the entrance, he stared in longingly. Why did he have to wait until he was six moons? That was so far away. The older cats seemed so happy. They were allowed to do what they wanted, when they wanted.

Larchkit straightened up, knowing his time would come at some point. Then he would be the best warrior that ever lived. He wouldn't give up, no matter what happened. He would protect his Clan with the best of 'em. Yeah, that would be the day....

The orange kit was awoken from his train of thought by a grumble. He spotted Adderkit sulking accross the clearing and entering the nursery, being scolded by their mother. He must have snuck out again, he thought. "He's grumpier than a badger without any sleep," he murmured, half to himself. Deerkit's laughter was audible nearby. Larchkit grinned. He hadn't even meant for that to be a joke, but if she was amused, he was happy.
