A young she-cat was lying down by the entrance of the warriors den, her head on her paws. Most everyone was inside the different dens, asleep or waiting for the group of cats that went to the Gathering to come back. The only other cats out were the guards at the entrance of camp.
Echowhisper had been even more silent that ever since her brother, Mysterycurse, was killed. She barely spoke a word to anyone, as if some had robbed her of her vocal chords. She couldn't bare to think it, but even though she had never been close to Mysterycurse, his death saddened her greatly. After all, they had still been kin.
Echowhisper wasn't sure what she was doing out in the clearing. She didn't feel like sleeping, that was for sure. She flipped over onto her back, and looked at the stars. Each star was supposed to be a dead warrior in Starclan. I wonder how the night sky looked when the clans first started moons upon moons ago. Was it empty and black? She shook her head vigorously, to get the question out of her head. Instead, she quieted her thoughts and listened to the crickets 'sing' in the grass outside of camp. ooc open.[/blockquote]

flaxfeather A good sleep had done wonders for Flaxfeather. The ginger tabby was still curled up in his nest, his face hidden by his ruffled fur. The young warrior had been haunted ever since Mysterycurse's death. He had been friends with the tom in their kithood. Just when he had thought everything was piecing itself back together, it was shattered again, just by this one event. He had been so furious, so shocked, when his friend's body had been discovered. That cat, that loner. Just thinking about her set his sharp teeth on edge. But for now Flaxfeather was asleep, this slumber aided by poppy seeds. A deep, dreamless sleep that fillede every inch of him. And it was healing him, slowly, but surely.
Flaxfeather was vaguely aware of being awake, but he did not want to open his eyes. His eyelids felt as heavy as lead. The young warrior yawned widely, curling up tighter, as if to go back to sleep. But he cracked open one green eye to see blinding sunlight from overhead. He shut it again quickly. He was sure that he should probably be awake by now. So, with a great sigh, he heaved himself upright and shook out his thick ginger coat. Flaxfeather yawned and stretched, before grooming his messy fur. He ventured out of the warriors' den, his green eyes still narrowed against the sunlight. He noticed Echowhisper, Mysterycurse's sister. He padded up to the miserable-looking she-cat and blinked down at her.
"Echowhisper, are you okay?"

Echowhisper quickly sat up as she heard someone voice her name. Huh? She rubbed her eyes, and saw that it was only Flaxfeather. She gulped, as her throat had grown dry. C'mon, speak. Umm. Her voice was raspy, from not being used. She cleared her throat, and her voice was somewhat normal. Uh, I think so. The answer was one of those answers that wasn't a lie, but it was only part of the truth. I just can't really sleep. She blinked a couple of times, and looked down. She tried not to show her sad face. [/blockquote]
