//Brightclaw Claws scraped the ground as a white tortoiseshell walked across the open ground and away from the camp. She was a sleek and slender cat who loved to sit by the lake in silence and let the waves lull her to sleep in the warm afternoons. Not today, though. She was restless and uneasy, ready to fight when there was no battle around. Everything was beautiful yet she was oblivious to it all. She had a longing for something everyone around her has or has had and only she didn't. A friend. A companion. Someone to sit by the lake and enjoy it with her, someone she could fight with, without it meaning anything. Anyone...

hyenastrike Anger filled his entire body. Hyenastrike crashed through the undergrowth like a raging bull, his paws smashing ferns and his tail snapping the frail stems of young spruce trees. Tears had drawn lines over his heavily scarred face, making him look ever more gruesome. The young tom was furious, but his soul ached with more than just rage. He felt cheated. He had always looked forward to finding out who his father was. Now he felt let down. Octoberlies had obviously not wanted him as a son, if he hadn't even bothered to tell him that he was his father. Hyenastrike hurled a rock out of his path with a large paw. The impact made his paw throb, but he didn't care. It almost made him feel better, as though he had transferred some of his pain into the rock.
Hyenastrike pushed through a bramble bush into the clearing of the Ravine. At first he did not realise there was anybody there, and stood there gulping and sobbing, not caring to stop himself. Then, through his one uninjured eye he caught sight of Brightclaw. The warrior flushed and fell silent. Maybe she had not noticed him. Hopefully...

//Brightclaw Yet the beautiful tortoiseshell had seen him. Well heard him, anyway. She had heard his sobs when he was crashing through the underbrush like a mad badger and she had half hoped that who ever it was would of turned another way but he hadn't. She had even sat there for at least a minute before knowing that she had to find out what was up setting the cat so much. She stood up and turned to face him, not even acting like she had just noticed him sitting there. With a sigh, she slowly padded up to him and stood two tail lengths away before finally asking him. "Whats the mater?" She forced herself to put some sympathy into the line.

hyenastrike Hyenastrike heard her sigh, then her footsteps. He burnt with embarrasment, turning around and taking several hasty steps into the undergrowth. Maybe if he could just escape, before she reached him... He froze as her voice hit his ears, one large paw still in the air. He sighed heavily and replaced it on the grass. It was no use. "Nothing," he mewed savagely. He then regretted his tone. But he was sharp. He could tell Brightclaw didn't really care. And he despised cats who pretended to care. Just like Octoberlies, and Snowflake. All they cared about was themselves. And eachother. Nobody else mattered in their perfect little world. "Just forget you ever saw me, okay?" he mewed, his tone less snarling, and more miserable. He then padded into the bushes, praying she wouldn't follow.
Then again, if she did, that would just be taking the mickey.
