What did I do to deserve this? Palegust
Palegust was asleep in the warrior's den. He woke up, not for any particular reason. Nothing had woken him up. He got up and stretched. He padded out of the Warrior's den, gazing around. The camp was not so active early in the morning like this. There was still some food left on the freshkill pile, so he went over to it. He picked out a squirrel and took it to the edge of camp. He ate it and finished. He started to groom himself. He noticed that the camp was more active now, seeing as the sun had finally come up. He thought, I should go hunting today, I think. He stopped washing himself. He decided that he wanted to look around the camp a bit. He started to walk, looking in every den. Apprentice's, Nursery, Warrior's, Leader's, Medicine cat's and Elders. 'My, my there are alot of cats in this clan.' He muttered to himself. He had no one to talk to. He was so engrossed in his own world. He continued to look around the camp. [/blockquote]

A small white bundle of fur stirred in the warrior's den. The cat's golden yellow eyes sleepily opened, then blinked a few times. The tom slowly got to his paws, stretched, then yawned widely. The tom then shook himself before walking out of the den; he was now quite ready to face the new day. He headed towards the fresh kill pile, making sure to stand up taller and try to look handsome whenever he passed a she-cat. He eventually reached the pile, and selected a sparrow. He then carried it to a spot at the edge of the camp (but not out of view of the she-cats) and began to eat.

Palegust continued his strolling around the camp. He passed the edge of the camp twice where Hailthunder was seated. Finally, he stopped, noticing how Hailthunder kept sitting up straight, as if he wanted the shecats to notice him. He walked over to him and sat down next to him. 'You know, you could just go talk to them. They might not notice you.' Palegust chuckled at Haithunder. It was funny to see this tom try to make Shecats notice him. Palegust noticed that the shecats were moving. 'Watch out, they're moving! You might want to get closer so they will notice you!' He meowed, mocking the tomcat. He shook his head. Wow, what cats will do. He thought to himself.

Hailthunder finished his sparrow and continued trying to get the she-cats attention. He turned as Palegust spoke. He smirked, "Nah, I think you'll find that I know exactly what I'm doing." He struck a heroic pose as another she-cat passed them. He nodded at the she-cat, grinning flirtily, before turning back to Palegust. "You know, they call me The Master Of Love." He meowed, nodding confidently and smiling. He turned away again as another she-cat walked past. "Hey darling!" He meowed, trying to make himself look bigger. The she-cat looked at him in disgust before trotting away. Hailthunder turned back to Palegust, unphased. "Ah, you see. They always play hard to get. They know I like it."

Palegust laughed out loud as the shecat shunned Hailsmoke. 'Oh, yeah, you totally know what you're doing.' He smirked. It was so funny watching this cat humiliating himself in front of all these shecats. Palegust nodded as another one walked by. 'How about her?' He didn't realize that it was Mooncloud. He waited to see what Hailthunder would do with this shecat. [/blockquote]

Hailthunder turned back to Palegust with a slight frown on his face, then he shook his head vigorously. "No, I shouldn't frown; it will ruin my face." He relaxed his face again. "Like you know better." He said. He looked at the she-cat Palegust pointed out. He smiled. "As beautiful as she is, I don't think it would work out between us." He meowed. "Good morning Mooncloud!" He meowed cheerfully, before turning back to Palegust and smiling.

What? Mooncloud [/font][/size] Mooncloud was out enjoying the sun. She looked over to find Palegust and Hailthunder staring at shecats. 'Why hello, there, Hailthunder! I see you're at your favourite hobby.' She let an amused purr out. She shook her head and kept walking. What did I do to deserve this? Palegust Palegust flattened his ears in embarrassment as he realized who he had pointed out. 'I didn't realize she was an elder.' He mumbled. He realized, then, what Hailthunder had said. ''Ruin your face?' Ha! That's funny!' He mewed. Like a tom should care about his face. 'You're a warrior. Your face will be scarred. It will be ruined by claws. One frown isn't going to ruin it.' Palegust was laughing really hard. He was truly having fun. For a long time, he was not having fun, but now he was. Palegust stopped laughing finally, as he needed to catch his breath. Hailthunder blinked at Palegust. "If I get scars, fine. If I have scars it shows that I have fought for the clan." He said seriously. "She-cat's like a brave warrior." He smiled at Mooncloud. "Of course!" He meowed. He turned back to Palegust, with a tiny frown on his face. "What's so funny? You're not laughing at Mooncloud are you? That's not very nice." He said, blinking.

Palegust laughed at Hailthunder. 'You don't care about getting scars, but you don't want to frown because it might ruin your face. Ha!' He was laughing so hard that he had to turn around to catch his breath. When he finally caught his breath, he turned back to Hailthunder, with a smirk on his face. He heard Hailthunder's next sentence. His face turned horrified. 'No! I was laghing at you!' If there was one thing Palegust didn't do, it was that he didn't laugh at Elders. [/blockquote]

Hailthunder blinked. "Why are you laughing at me? That's very rude you know." He meowed, slightly offended. He didn't like being laughed at, but he always just told himself other cat's were just jealous of his good looks and how great he was with the she-cats.

Palegust stared at Hailthunder in astonishment. 'You seriously don't know why I'm laughing?' He asked, surprised. 'I'm laughing because you think that frowning would ruin your face. You don't care about scars, though. Ha!' He started to snicker. It was too funny. 'I'm sure that she-cats woulcn't mind that you frown.' He tried to say this seriously but ended up laughing.

"Oh." Hailthunder said, blinking again. "Ok..." He looked up as Palegust spoke again. "You really think they won't mind?" He asked, then his face fell as the tom started to laugh again. "It's not that funny, is it?" He asked, looking slightly worried.

Palegust snorted. 'Look at what they are surrounded by. They're surrounded by battle-scarred toms. I don't think they'll mind that you've frowned a bit.' He laughed again, then took a more serious look. 'Yes, Hailthunder, it is that funny.' He looked at Hailthunder. He started to laugh again. 'sorry, but it is really funny.' he mewed, while laughing. Hailthunder looked slightly downcast, then looked back up, and sighed. "Well...If it makes you laugh then...I guess one good thing came out of it." He smiled slightly, although he was rather worried that he was not being taken seriously.

His brother had basically disowned him. Where's that leader's kittypet, anyways? He wondered. ountainwind was probably trying to impress Stormstar. Typical. His laughing attitude was replaced by a look of hatred on his face. He was not happy toward his brother. [/sup]

Hailthunder frowned slightly at the tom's change of expression. He decided he wouldn't care about frowning now; he didn't want Palegust to laugh at him again. "Um...are you ok?" He asked hesitantly; he wasn't good at that kind of thing really, he was better at...well...not that. He began to groom his large ears in an attempt to hide the fact that he felt uncomfortable in this situation.

Palegust stared at Hailthunder, then looked away. No! I let my emotions show! He was mad at himself. He didn't usually brood like that. He shook his head to clear the thoughts out of his mind. He looked back to Hailthunder. 'I'm fine.' He answered bluntly. He turned away and padded to the camp entrance, meowing over his shoulder, 'Going hunting.' He wanted to leave the camp. He felt that going hunting was a good thing to do.

Hailthunder nodded quickly. "Sure, ok. See you later buddy." He meowed, watching as Palegust walked away. He tilted his head to one side, shrugged, then trotted off to find a she-cat to flirt with.
