Ooc:// I'm guessing all the ceremonies are done?

It was after the naming ceremonies and Lightningstorm had hoped to find Jasminestar in her den so he could talk to her about his daughter, Mystique. He took a moment to think of what to say and hoped he wouldn't lose it, but he knew that if it was to be, he would leave the Clan to be with his daughter. His fur bristled at the thought of leaving the only place he knew of his whole life, yet it was for everything he cared for.
Mousepaw, his granddaughter, didn't much need him anymore because she was so busy trying to do her best for the Clan, and she would be well looked after. Plus he was half worried about being a senior. If he stayed, he would be moving into the Elders den with in the next few moons, but if he went out, being an elder was out of the question. He finally took a breath and called out his leaders name. "Jasminestar, I wish to speak with you."

Jasminestar had turned her body to face the back of her den as she thought, but she cranned her neck to see Lightningstorm at the entrance. Yes? She stood up as best as she could in her cramped dirt cave, and turned to face the warrior. Are you here to talk about your daughter, Mystique? [/blockquote]

"Yes, I am." He replied keeping his eye sight on the dirt floor. He swung his head to look outside at all the cats and newly newed Warriors before he looked back at his leader and sat down. "I know she was rude during the ceremonies and I beg you to forgive her for that, but she is my daughter and I can't just let her go. I'll teach her of the Warrior code and of our ways. You have to give her a chance. Please." His heart ached at the thought of losing another daughter, he still wasn't over losing his first daughter, Morningstripe.

A sigh rumbled through the leader's body as her planned words came to mind. All she seemed to be doing these days was sighing. I'm sorry, Lightningstorm, but I just don't think I can do that. I don't think your daughter is suited for this kind of life. I think most of the clan would agree with me on this. She blinked sympatheticly. Our clan is still recovering from the battle. I don't need someone new to unnerve our clan right now. She put her paw on his shoulder for a moment, before putting it down. [/blockquote]

The older Warrior stared at his leader in disbelief. That was it? Decided right then and there no thought over it? Inside he felt like he was being torn in two, over his Clan and his daughter. "You haven't even talked to her." He stated, trying to keep his voice from quivering in anger. "She's all I have, you can't just brush her aside. She would make a valuable addition to the Clan. And if she goes...I go..."

Jasminestar narrowed her eyes. Don't think I haven't thought about this. I have. I'm doing what's best for the clan as a whole. I'm sorry if my decision angers you, but that is my final word. She huffed angrily. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must tell the rest of the clan. She pushed past him, to the outside. [/blockquote]

Lightningstorm backed up to allow the leader to exit the den. He had no more to say to her. She made her decision and he knew she was going to stick to it. He flicked his tail in disgust and anger before heading down to the Clan clearing to find his daughter and give her the horrid news and hopefully find Mousepaw to give her a final fair well. His stomach churned at the thought of leaving, but he didn't care as long as he was was with his daughter. That was all that mattered.
