Birdfeather looked around. She looked over at Runespell. 'Flaxfeather did wonderful today. He fights just like you.' She had been worried at the fight if Flaxfeather was going to be okay. She now knew it would be stupid to worry about him. She butted her brother on the shoulder with her head. 'You should be proud.' She mewed.

"Well that's not a problem, Lycorispaw," Summermeadow could feel waves of doubt flowing off of the smaller female. She didn't want to let that feeling of skepticism to grow, so she smiled encouragingly. "That's why we practice, see I'm sure none of the kits could fight, hunt, and patrol like a senior warrior. If they did, kits wouldn't need mentors." The lithe tortoiseshell lifted her head to smell the warm and calming aromas of tree blossoms and the heat of the sun rays. Summermeadow laid her fluffy tail on Lycorispaw's shoulders, "I know we just met and all, but I'm here to help you." She bent down to whisper in her apprentice's ear, "If you ever have anything you want to discuss, I'm right here."

hauntingdream.[/font] Hauntingdream had busied herself grooming her smoky blue-grey pelt, but looked up and smiled as Quailpaw came back over. "No worries. Is everything alright...?" she asked, gesturing with her tail in the direction of the apprentices den where Alderpaw had disappeared to. Her teal gaze lingered there for a second before returning to Quailpaw. [/size]

Seven kings will ride on the wind up towards the mountains high
[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] Ghostlystar Ghostlystar stood at attention, flicking his tail left and right. "BrightClan, there is another announcement! Due t'm'son's death at th'paws o'a rogue, I want th'Clan on high alert for any strange movements and all intruders. We can't take a chance that might harm one o'our own!" Having made his declaration, the lithe tom leapt from the bosom of the Gnarled Root, landing nimbly at the feet of his son. He bowed his head. "Ya were an honorable warrior, m'son..." He sighed heavily, his eyes full of pain as he sat in front of his den to begin his vigil. And the only sound that will break the air is the warrior's bitter cry
ooc;// Everyone is now free to make threads with their mentors/apprentices or sit vigil with Ghostlystar.

quailpaw Quailpaw flicked her tail. She noticed the neatness and shimmering sheen of her mentor's coat. The dark brown tabby she-cat glanced at her own. It was embarrasingly messy and ruffled. If she wanted to be like Hauntingdream she needed to buck her ideas up - and fast. Quailpaw sat down and began to wash herself with hasty, furious strokes, until her chocolate-coloured coat gleaming and her white paws and chest shone once mire like virgin snow.
The apprentice blinked her pale, lime green eyes at Hauntingdream as the pale grey she-cat asked her if everything is alright. No, it's not, she though bitterly. My pessimistic brother won't even let me help him for StarClan's sake! But instead she forced her face into a smile and lied, pushing Alderpaw out of her mind. "Fine, thanks," she mewed politely. The she-cat looked at her paws, eager to be out of the camp. Recently it had taken on the thick stench of blood. Nasty.

"Okay!" Lycorispaw smiled a real smile now, and it was quite charming, really. She had a kit-like softness to her features but hadn't fallen behind on her apprenticehood growth. Maybe now she could go on hunting trips with her siblings without loosing track of them or even BrightClan territory! Maybe now she would be chosen for dawn patrols. She let forth a giggle and pranced about, and now it was quite obvious that she meant well but her body was not cooperating, because she tripped over her own paw and landed face-first in the dirt. Spitting out a mouthful of the stuff, she spat to get rid of the tast. "Yuck!"

[Ooc:// Oops, sorry. Didn't realize this was going on ^^; ~<Berryleaf>
The young warrior touched noses with her new apprentice, Locustpaw. "I promise to teach you all I know." She promised him. Then they both walked off towards the edge of the clearing to sit among the others. Berryleaf proudly fluffed out her fur in excitement in getting the leaders trust enough to give her an appreantice. They finished listening to the rest of the report before Ghostlystar ended the meeting. Her heart broke in two as she watched their leader sit vigil in front of his son. She began to wonder if she should join him, even though she didn't know the warrior. She decided to show Locustpaw around the territory first, if he wanted. "Would you like see the BrightClan territory?"

He touched noses with her and meowed, wagging his little tail. The blue-eyed tom watched Ghostlystar and his heart twisted, knowing that it must be such a heavy cross for the black tom to carry each and every day. He was glad that BrightClan had not gone to war with the others.
Locustpaw's thoughts returned to his mentor. "I'll be ready in a minute," he said, prancing in place as he bounded around his mentor like he would his mother as a kit. He smiled at Berryleaf kindly before plodding away.

Eastfrost
Eastfrost looked at Gracewhisper with wide sapphire blue irises, he sat next to her speechless for a few heartbeats. Thoughts of joy and shock raced through his head that he forgot them as soon as he thought them. He shook the shock and speechlessness away and a joyful smile spread across his maw, every hair on his silver tabby pelt wanted to leap into the sky and dance with the wind. "That's wonderful! When is it going to happen? Nevermind that, I'm going to be a father!" Eastfrost let his joyful energy out with his words, then he looked at Gracewhisper with soft loving sapphire blue irises. "These kits will be the most luckiest kits in Brightclan for they will have the most beautiful and wonderful mother in the world" Eastfrost licked Gracewhisper's cheek before he let out loud and wonderful feeling purr's that sounded like they filled the whole camp but they were only for his mate.

A piercing cry sounded from the warriors' den as Stormfeather noticed her dead son. She pushed her way through the entrance and flung herself at the bloody body. In her silence, she groomed his fur, tears dribbling down her face. She looked up at Ghostlystar, with a pleading look in her eyes that said what are we going to do? She dropped her head onto her son's still body and shut her eyes. She quivered from the strength it took her not to yowl aloud.
Frostedwing heard the cry from her mother and followed her gaze. Mysterycurse! She gasped, shocked and grief-stricken. She ran to Mysterycurse's body and pushed her nose into his side. She noticed her mother seemed to want to be alone with her fallen son, so Frostedwing backed away and pushed her face into Grainpelt's fur. What are we going to do? She whimpered.
Gingerpelt, though sad at the death of a warrior, stepped forward to her apprentice and smiled while she touched noses with Turtlepaw. Then she retreated and smiled at Swirlstorm. I'm a mentor! She meowed happily.

ELMPAW Pale green eyes blinked in the darkness of the back of the apprentice's den as he faintly heard his name announced by Ghostlystar. His mentor was... Slatesky? Thats what his large ears picked up but he couldn't be one hundred percent sure. Yes, you must wonder why little Elmpaw wasn't at his ceremony. Well he was afraid. Afraid of Ghostlystar saying his name, knowing who his mentor would be, and the possible after ceremony training. He began to panic just thinking about the crowd he had to face if he did come out from this den. Usually, Quailpaw would tell him to come out and tell him to do his best, but today he was all alone. Sighing softly, he nodded to himself and stood. He crept out of the den slowly and into the sunlight. He spotted the apprentices with their mentors but not Slatesky. He bent his head down and padded over to sit near the crowd. If Slatesky saw him, he could come and get him.

through the monsoon [/size][/blockquote] Locustpaw «« beyond the world to the end of time [/blockquote] Blue eyes wandered over to pale greens as Locustpaw found himself over by Elmpaw. "I'm about to go out with Berryleaf. Do you and Slatesky want to come with us? I think he's in the medicine den with Mousewind but he'll be out in a minute," the cheery tom said softly. The Siamese felt a dull achy warmth spread through him whenever he found himself around or talking to Elmpaw. He was always in a better mood whenever he was around his tortoiseshell friend. The gray tom smiled and sat in front of the shy apprentice, putting a paw on his friend's muzzle playfully.

eLMPAW As he was turning around to head back into his den since he could not see Slatesky, his eyes met those blue ones of his friend. His own eyes grew wide for a few seconds and bent is head down to look away Locustpaw. His offer was so nice; so nice that Elmpaw felt bad to say no to. "Sure," the tortoiseshell blurted, his cheeks growing hot with embarrassment. He really did want to go hunting but what if he missed and Locustpaw saw him? He crouched even lower, wishing he had never said yes, but at the same time he couldn't wait to spend time with Locustpaw. He was the only cat that actually made him feel alright about himself. Elmpaw's cheeks grew even warmer when he felt a paw set playfully on his muzzle and was that a giggle? Hmm... Maybe it was, but it was just so quiet and under the apprentices breath that he really hoped Locustpaw didn't hear. "I guess it will be fun," he mewed quietly, looking up at Locustpaw.

The lilac-pointed Siamese brushed against his friend affectionately and meowed to Berryleaf. "Elmpaw's coming with us!" he announced to his mentor. The tom meowed and wriggled his little tail happily before turning to Elmpaw. "You'll do great! It'll be our first time out so I'm sure I'll look like a mousebrain." Slatesky nodded quietly, masking his surprise at becoming a mentor expertly. Elmpaw's unsure steps told him that this tomcat was a little like Slatesky himself; shy and reserved and slightly lost in new apprenticeship. He would have to try and be the best mentor he could be, while still taking care of his sister. But Slatesky was a cat who took responsibility on strong shoulders, he was sure that he could take it... and even if he thought he couldn't, no one would know because he barely spoke to anyone. Heavy steps carried him over to his apprentice, the young tortoishell tom, and he overheard their chatting. "Elmpaw and I will come," he decided, saying no more after that. Slatesky might seem intimidating to the new apprentices, he didn't know. Maybe it was his size, or his mysterious and quiet air. [/blockquote]

LASTFALLING Through CloudClan territory and then through BrightClan a tom traveled. Half of his travels he was accompanied by Astralhaze, his lover. They parted and Lastfalling and her made a day that they would meet at his shrine. She wanted to have her kits in the shrine, even though Lastfalling said it wouldn't be a good idea. He wouldn't argue with her. CloudClan had been very nice to him while he recovered from the Tribe attack that he received when he was saving a CloudClan warrior named Tawnysky. So now he limped back through BrightClan territory and into camp where he breathed in the familiar scent of home. Yes, he had been a tad homesick. Now when she saw the effects of the Tribe fight, he wished he had been there to defend his Clan. Frowning, he padded over to Ghostlystar's den and inside. "I am so sorry about this, Ghostlystar," he meowed and he took in a deep breath before continuing. "I know I missed a lot and I should've been here to protect the Clan..." eLMPAW Slowly, he began to feel himself uncoil. It was that same feeling he had whenever he was around Locustpaw. Little by little Elmpaw felt as though he was getting out of that little shell. He pressed his muzzle against the lilac-point Siamese and grinned. Maybe it would be so bad, hunting with two warriors and his friend. From what Locustpaw had said to him, he realized that not only he made a full of himself by missing prey and tripping over his own feet. Maybe they could make fools of themselves together. Isn't that what friends are for? He grinned again and more uncoiling occurred. He was almost sitting up straight now, his tortoiseshell pelt pressed against his friends light gray one. Elmpaw almost felt confident... well until Slatesky appeared. His pale green eyes grew huge for a second when he saw the massive tom towering over him. His small body shrank back against Locustpaw. "Hi Slatesky," he mewed softly and as quickly as possible, he ran up to his mentor, touched noses with him and ran back to sit next to Locustpaw.

Seven kings will ride on the wind up towards the mountains high
[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] Ghostlystar The hue of his pelt seem to meld together with the dim darkness of his den. He had taken his vigil inside, away from the others so that he could contemplate on life. He noticed the changes that had gripped him ever since he began leader. He had become less reckless, more willing to protect his Clan from unnecessary actions. He had seen horrors that he didn't want to expose his Clan to unless it was necessary. They needed him.
He turned around, sighing as his warriors took away the bodies to have them buried. He heard the cries of his mate and children. His chest panged. His eyes suddenly lifted as he heard a familiar voice. "Lastfallin'," he breathed. His ears faced forward, drinking in what his deputy had to say. He sighed, tail flicking. "Don't worry. We're still alive, most o'us. Y'ar okay...? Y'ar apprentice is waitin' fer ya, Alderpaw..." His electric-blue eyes met his deputy's orbs of amber. And the only sound that will break the air is the warrior's bitter cry
through the monsoon [/size][/blockquote] Locustpaw «« beyond the world to the end of time [/blockquote] "Let's go then!" Locustpaw said happily, seeing as how Slatesky had arrived. Berryleaf was behind Locustpaw, nodding to Slatesky to show that she was ready. The calico flicked her tail. "Where should we start?" she asked. Locustpaw's head zoomed to Elmpaw, wondering what he would say.

"Lastfalling." Grainpelt smiled at his friend, brushing his muzzle against the deputy's ear briefly. The black and white tom was still hurt, he could see, but at least the proper second-in-command was back. Grainpelt wasn't a very good deputy after all, but he had enjoyed it, right? "You've been missed..." he meowed solemnly, his eyes darkening.

LASTFALLING It seemed as though Ghostlystar wasn't disappointed in him but Lastfalling was still disappointed in himself for not being there to protect his Clan and the other Clans. He shifted uncomfortably and was able to see outside Ghostlystar's den. There were mourners surrounding cats that didn't make it home and Lastfalling couldn't see who died. It was just the air that was surrounding the Leader made Lastfalling feel even worse. Could those deaths be prevented if he had not saved Tawnysky? But then again, he had saved Tawnysky from death. He nodded as he was said to be given a new apprentice. But he had other things on his mind. "Thank you," he whispered seriously, his eyes glittering with shame. Why did he have this guilt on his shoulders?
As he was padding out of the dark den and into the brightly lit clearing to see a golden tabby tom that he knew so well. "Grainpelt!" he exclaimed, seeing that his friend wasn't harmed seriously. He smiled slightly, trying to lighten up the mood. "So I suppose you have taken my place while I was gone," he mewed, looking around, "And the camp is still up, so it looks like you did alright." He smiled again and looked back at the mourners. "Do not mind me asking, but who did we loose?" he asked sadly. eLMPAW Alrighty then! It was time to go off and make fulls of themselves together. He looked up at Locustpaw and smiled slightly. It would be fun right? Lots of fun. Well until a question as directed toward him by Locustpaw's mentor Berryleaf. He didn't even know her but fo some odd reason he felt comfortable sitting beside Locustpaw. He was crouching, holding his head down, and staring at his paws, but he felt comfortable enough to peep a few words. That's what Locustpaw's magic did."Well, umm... I guess we should explore the territory first," Elmpaw mewed quietly, looking back up at Locustpaw with his wide pale green eyes.

I'm all alone... Birdfeather [/font][/color][/right] Birdfeather looked around. Ghostlystar's announcement sank in. I have an apprentice? She looked around to find Thistlepaw. She found the apprentice. She walked over to her apprentice and touched noses. 'I will try to be the best mentor for you.' She knew it was bad to leave camp after just getting an apprentice, she felt overwhelmed by the tragedies. 'I'll take you out tomorrow, okay?'Seeing that she wasn't needed, she left the camp again. She didn't want to be in camp while Brightclan mourned more death. It was drowning her. All this death. She needed to escape. Birdfeather ran and ran until she reached a far territory. She wouldn't be missed at camp, she knew that.

Stormfeather lay down beside Ghostlystar and dropped her head onto his back. What are we going to do? We lost our son... She murmured, her tears still erupting. She shut her eyes and listened to his breathing. She barely registered Lastfalling coming over. She wanted to stay in her world, where her family was still alive, and no one had died. Not one cat.

He was simply going to get stronger for the ones that couldn't, like what he had told Ryekit so many, many moons ago. Ryefang was gone, Lastfalling almost had been, and Mysterycurse was dead. The leader wondered why StarClan had placed him in this position that many envied him for and yet it was such a heart-breaking job. The tom shook his head.
