Runningcloud // Dusk had fallen, but the world was just starting to come alive. The sunset trickled through the clouds like rivers of pink, purple, orange, and yellow light. It arched through the trees, bathing branches and leaves in warm golden light. Summer was finally here, making its homey presence known. Crickets and raccoons tumbled through the grass, and bats flapped their leathery appendages overhead.
The long grass slid aside as creamsicle legs guided a colossal body through towards the Moonshard. Runningcloud towered over the other medicine cats that followed her, easily the most recognizable of the pack from her massive girth because of the light-ginger and white fur. She turned to the other cats and motioned for them to go forward. Her hazel eyes faced forward, staring down the large rocks that made up the cave that held the crystal that was the Moonshard. We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days... Through the fire and the flames we carry on! [/blockquote]

cometpaw No one can deny that going to the Moonshard for your first time sends you mixed signals, shivers down your spine, yet your glowing in happiness all the same - how awkward. This is how the young she cat apprenticed to Dragonflydance felt as she trudged happily near her mentor, and somewhere beside Runningcloud. Her pelt of various hues, mainly earthen browns, mixed in well with the surroundings which she padded on and around, amber green eyes lightening up her path way. Her long, flowing tail seeming more like a birds wing made up of so many feathers of her fur, swooped up wards in delight as she stood gracefully on her paws trying to spot the first sighting of the Moonshard.
Her eyes then danced toward Amberpaw, whom she felt she knew best aside from her mentor, a certain friendship although the times they had talked narrowed down to very few. "How are you?" her mew came happily, as if an escape from her Clan where the injured where taking up their den and the dead needing to be buried did her good for the moment. Cometpaw's head then swung back to glance at Dragonflydance, a smile taking advantage of her own muzzle - it cannot hurt to be excited on your first adventure to a place like this, though deep down, ones insides were churning.

Lavenderpaw looked somewhat lost. Should she have left Timberpaw and Freepaw all alone? Would she see her mother here? The mood was different now than it was the first time she had came here, and more than aything she wanted it to go back. She wanted to be dancing on her paws, excited and cheerful. Instead, she felt as if her paws were made of the same hard metal as the Moonshard. Smiling weakly at Cometpaw she let her mind wander for a little, not that it was hard to do so. It was a few more fox-lengths of travelling before she got up the courage to actually speak to anyone.
"I didn't become medicine cat apprentice until after I had visited the Moonshard." she said quietly, not sure if Cometpaw would take that the wrong way. "You'll be fine..." the orange female let herself trail off as the approached the place where the Moonshard had stood for dozens of seasons. She felt a tingle of excitement, despite her greif: she was going to recieve her full name! The thought warmed her slightly and she smiled at Runningcloud. [/blockquote]

prophecypaw He mewed, is voice deep, his eyes bright with excitement. He watched the other medicine cat apprentices, wondering of what there reaction to him speaking to them might cause. The last time, Prophecypaw was quiet, not talking and didn't seem interested. Now, the tom was. He wanted to know the mysteries of what StarClan has instore for him. He tortted beside the two she-cats, glancing back at Littlefox before looking to them agian. "How are your injured? Are they healing well?" dragonflydance. i'm not going coz i've been waiting for a miracle
and i'm not leaving
The long tail of Dragonflydance twitched from side to side as she trotted easily beside Runningcloud. The oldest clan medicine cat had her head raised, her sky blue eyes clear. Every now and then she opened her mouth slightly to draw in the scents and check that Cometpaw was keeping up. She was aware that her apprentice was the youngest of the apprentice medicine cat's; not that she doubted her skill and determination. This would be Cometpaw's first time sharing tongues with StarClan.
The slim white she-cat's paws pounded the rocky earth soundlessly. Dragonflydance glanced sideways at Runningcloud. Every medicine cat looked strained at this tiring time. They had had many injured cats to deal with after the battle - some of which had died in their paws. Dragonflydance had not been particularly comfortable with leaving the injured in camp without a medicine cat present, but the pull of StarClan was urgent in her mind. "How are your injured?" she asked Runningcloud, blue eyes concerned.

Runningcloud // Runningcloud flashed Dragonflydance an exhausted look but smiled all the same. "I'm not too fond on leaving my Clan so soon after a battle," she said quietly, the warrior and medic in her talking. The largest she-cat of the group sighed softly and flicked her tail, looking back at Lavenderpaw and smiling slightly. She returned her light-green gaze to Dragonflydance and wrinkled her forehead. “We had three dead, but when I departed, Jasminestar told me that there would be some new warriors when I return: Lavenderpaw’s sister and brother, Freepaw and Timberpaw.” She smiled. “I’m pray to StarClan that all the Clans will recover after this tragedy.” She shook her head and looked over at the oldest medicine cat. “How are your kin? I heard your warrior Tawnysky was attacked by a spectre of the Tribe and was forced to sit out the battle…” We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days... cloudedsky.A ghostly feline figure loped easily beside the other medicine cats, her blue gaze flicking from each medicine cat and apprentice as they spoke. She thought of her own Clan at home, and she too had been less than comfortable leaving them in this trembling state. She needed to consult StarClan though, and she also had to give Amberpaw her warrior name. She had done well tending the wounded and dying after the battle, and deserved it now more than ever. Amberpaw
The honey coloured femme walked behind her mentor, slightly to the right so she could see where she was going. Amberpaw felt excited. She had never been to the Moonshard before and was looking forward to sharing tongues with StarClan. But, the familiar knot of anxiety appeared in her stomach the second she thought of her Clan and the state it was in. Her amber orbs flickered up when she heard a voice and she smiled as she saw Cometpaw. She felt a friendship with the CloudClanner and was glad, as she only really had Cloudedksy at home. "Oh, im okay but tired. The amount of work after the battle has been huge" she said, feeling another twist of worry. "How about you?" she asked the apprentice with a friendly smile. She nodded to Lavenderpaw and then to Prophecypaw, whom she still felt some tension with. Then she concentrated of where she was going again. "I wonder where Falconpaw is" she murmered, as she had not seen him or Minnowmask on their travels. [/blockquote]

Amberpaw Amberpaw rasied her head as Prophecypaw approached her. She listened to him speak and nodded. She wasnt one to hold grudges and she wouldnt start now. As he walked away she glanced towards him, flashing a quick smile that said more than words could. She then slowed down until she padded alongside Cometpaw again, whom she shared the closest friendship with. "Cloudedsky" she called to her mentor, looking up ahead at the snowy white female. "Will it be long until we get to the Moonshard?" she asked her mentor, bright amber eyes excited. [/sub]

ooc;// I'm going to play Falconfeather here until Falcon gets online. Do you think we'll need a medicine cat audition?
bic;// A brown tabby she-cat blinked her eyes as she followed Runningcloud nervously. The young medicine cat watched the other medicine cats join them as the road to the MoonShard became steeper. She padded faster after Lavenderpaw. She swallowed a lump in her throat and turned to Cometpaw. "Hi," she squeaked. She cleared her throat and launched into an explanation as to why her mentor wasn't with her. "Minnowmask never came home from the Tribe battle." Her thin tail waved shakily. "So Firestar gave me my warrior name, and Runningcloud picked me up. I'm Falconfeather now..." She attempted to smile, feeling a small one form on her face.

cometpaw How could one help being excited in such a momentous adventure like this? One, only few cats get to go on! No one could deny they felt, in some odd way, not only a special kinship with StarClan, each other, but lucky just to have their paws tread on this worn path. Only leaders and medicine cats (with their apprentices) get to share tongues with their ancestors at the Moonshard, and as the young she cat realized this, a thrilling shiver was sent up her spine and into her earthen hued paws, her amber green eyes brightening farther. She realized what Lavenderpaw said was true, every other apprentice (and most of the mentors) probably had become a apprentice at the Moonshard, but maybe she'd get her official official ceremony here - after all, when she was apprenticed, the war had just nearly dawned on their paws. So she simply nodded, not wanting to get into it farther.
She smiled nervously as Prophecypaw approached them, one of the medicine cat apprentices she didn't know too well, but nodded as he asked his logical question. "We're doing... okay" she nodded, confident that CloudClan was doing alright, but sighed "as much as I am excited to be here part of me still wishes I could be healing my Clan farther". Her head dipped for a moment in though before she turned to Amberpaw, whom she considered one of her only few friends, and her quiet smile spread on her face again as she realized at least one other cat shared her joy of coming to the Moonshard. Cometpaw's eyes narrowed as she realized two cats were missing, and then her smile shadowed into a frown as she realized Falconpaw was all by herself, replying a quiet hello to the joining she cat. "Congratulations!" she replied optimistically, paws raising her up as she tried to find Moonshard, her head turning to her mentor "Yes - how much longer, do you think?" she didn't want to be annoying, but is was so exciting...

Lavenderpaw's muzzle cracked into a wide grin. "Congratulations." She wondered what Freepaw and Timberpaw's names would be... or even, her own. Lavendercloud? No... Lavenderleaf? Pretty, but not really... Shaking her head, she decided it was worthles - she would have one soon enough, and whatever it was she knew it would be the most beautiful name. StarClan was choosing it! As soon as she thought of her warrior ancestors, however, all her other thoughts stopped cold and the ginger female blinked slowly. StarClan. "Runningcloud..." she mewed quietly, almost afraid to ask her question. Runningcloud knew so much about the Tribe, but would Lavenderpaw be happy with her reply? "What happens to the cats killed by the Tribe?" she glanced nervously at Falconfeather, Amberpaw and Cometpaw. At least one of them knew about her mother. Would she see Pastelsky there? [/blockquote]

Littlefox nudged Prophecypaw. Good for you, making friends. She smiled at him, before running up to catch the other medicine cats. I'm sorry to hear about Minnowmask, but you will make a great medicine cat, Falconfeather. She purred. Then she meowed to all of them. How are your cats?

cloudedsky.Cloudedsky watched silently as the medicine cats mingled, then opened her mouth to speak as Littlefox asked about her Clan. 'We are doing as well as can be expected after such a one sided battle, and we must prey to StarClan tonight for all the Clans.' she said, dropping back to walk beside Littlefox. 'And your Clan?' Falconfeather smiled at the congratulations she was getting from everyone. "Thanks, I just hope I can fill his pawsteps . . ." she said, looking over the others. Then she heard Lavenderpaw. She froze a second. What would happen to them? She had seen Lavenderpaw's mother get killed, which was horrid in itself. Minnowmask never had returned, so he was presumed dead. Surely the would go to starclan . . . wouldn't they?

Littlefox smiled at Cloudedsky. We have many injuries in our clan... It was a hard descision for me to choose whether or not Prophecypaw and I would come tonight. We have one terrible injury, and that is Spicetalon's broken leg, but it will heal. She dipped her head. Then she raised her voice for all the cats around her to hear. I must mention to all of you to beware of Corbyn. He used to be known as Corbynfeather, but he left our clan as a rogue. He killed Amehtystar. Soon, I will be accompanying Fernpelt to get her name and lives. She announced. Then she smiled at Cloudedsky. Do you have any badly injured?

bic;// Runningcloud // Runningcloud looked down at her apprentice as Lavenderpaw spoke. “I believe that the Tribe keeps their souls. StarClan can only watch helplessly as this shadow sieges their gates,” the large she-cat said quietly. She leapt onto the rocks that began the MoonShard, her tail flickering left and right. At Littlefox’s announcement, the belligerent female turned sharply to the EclipseClan medicine cat. “If SerenityClan sees that rat that has left its nest, we’ll be the first to exterminate it,” she snarled, her claws unsheathing like tiny blades. Her tail snapped side to side like a bullwhip, her protective air rising. “StarClan will haunt that b****rd even if he claims not to believe in them.” Such language from the female was not a new thing. We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days... cometpaw The brown feathers of her fur clung to her sides like it was damp, her amber green eyes searching for the other medicine cat apprentices, but realizing they had all run ahead to join their mentors. She sighed bashfully, criticized herself silently that she should stop daydreaming about how fortunate and lucky she was, and pay a little more attention to life. Just a little. A small smile still strangled her lips as the excitement rushed to her again with the first sighting of the Moonshard. "Hi Dragonflydance" she came out much happier than she usually sounded, almost bird-song-like chirpy, still living in the moment, of this happy, joyous occasion - despite memories of The Tribe's injuries thrusting itself into her mind, she would have to deal with those if she wasn't going to be haunted for the rest of her apprentice life.
She padded closer to her mentor as they approached closer and closer to the Moonshard, and eventually watching Runningcloud's example, took a delicate step onto the rocks, then walking more confidently, the surface smooth and slick against her paws. She listened to Lavenderpaw's mentor almost frightened, and she realized she didn't want to know the answer to that question either - she didn't think anybody truthfully did. "That's true, right?" she asked her mentor for reassurance though she knew Runningcloud was right, a shiver dancing up her spine as she swept her long, feathery tail to her side, her dark hued paws stepping lightly onto the stones as she winced hearing Runningcloud's language, unused to it herself.

dragonflydance. i'm not going coz i've been waiting for a miracle

Dragonflydance nodded in agreement, her eyes briefly clouding with worry. She did hate leaving injured cats alone in the cat, but she knew that some cats knew a bit about herbs. If there were any emergencies, she prayed CloudClan would be able to deal with them without her and Cometpaw for now. "I just pray to StarClan that we will recover," she murmured, her voice low enough so that the apprentices behind would not hear her.
The white she-cat nodded again as Runningcloud spoke of Tawnysky. "Yes," she mewed. "Tawnysky would be dead if it hadn't been for Lastfalling..." She directed a nod at Cloudedsky. "We are in your debt, Cloudedsky." Dragonflydance dropped back a little to pad beside her apprentice. She flicked her ears as Cometpaw spoke. She was glad to see her worrisome apprentice relaxing a little. She was also glad to see her socializing and making friends. Usually Cometpaw was so withdrawn, so self-conscious... Dragonflydance smiled fondly. Then again, without that, she wouldn't be Cometpaw. The news about Amethyststar made her suck in her breath. She had sensed, at the battle, that the EclipseClan leader had only one life left. But she had never anticipated this... "These are dark times," she mewed gravely.

"Ah." her throat was dry, her heart faint. So Pastelsky is stuck there... but her mother had always been a good cat, living a normal life! Why did she have to go to a place as horrible, perhaps even worse, than DeathClan? She could barely find the strength to leap upon the fallen rocks, her thin tail twitching back and forth. The orange she-cat caught up to her mentor and tried not to look as crestfallen as she felt - but then again, she should be at least a little happy... Maybe StarClan would help? Maybe. Smiling lightly - Lavenderpaw seemed to be doing that a lot lately - she fell into step with Runningcloud, her ginger fur almost mimicking the former deputy's. [/blockquote]

cometpaw Her brown feathers, her fur, clung to her sides weakly as she watched her mentor say something softly to another medicine cat, perhaps so all of the apprentices couldn't hear, something too scary. She didn't like being scared so this was alright with her, keeping secrets for the better of someone else, almost. Her pale amber green eyes followed her mentor as she gradually slowed until they were side by side, and she watched her own paws step lightly on the rock-surface as if she was afraid to break the slick, silver substance under her own paws. She was about to imagine how many other leaders and medicine cats, and their apprentices, had been here before her before she heard her mentor reply to her question.
These are dark times... she heard her mentor reply, Dragonflydance's four words playing ping-pong in her head, bouncing around and interrupting all Innocent, optimistic thoughts she may have and crushing them all feebly. They would echo to her for awhile, until she built some sense out of them, or perhaps, when the dark ended. With that, she was reminded her mentor was beside her, and she looked at the other she cat hopefully. "What's... when is the dark going to end? How..." she shivered, as if it was actually very dark, before looking at her mentor again "DeathClan scares me... our ancestors don't deserve to be there" she said matter of factly, though her tail self consciously curled around her back leg, wanting to bury her feelings deep within herself once more.

dragonflydance. i'm not going coz i've been waiting for a miracle

Dragonflydance could sense Cometpaw's growing distress. She lifted her long tail and brushed her apprentice gently between her ears in an attempt to comfort her a little. The white she-cat then sighed. There were so many things that could be true, could be false, she just didn't know. And in the middle were the Tribe and the clans, seperated by the ghostly barrier of life and death. Dragonflydance felt an edge of anger rip through her as she thought of her fallen clanmates used as puppets; killers.
Dragonflydance turned to look reassuringly at Cometpaw. "It's alright," she mewed. "The dark will end. I know it. And ehen it does, our ancestors will be freed. They will be able to wander StarClan like any other fallen clan cat." Dragonflydance licked Cometpaw's cheek as a mother might her kit. "Don't think of what has already happened. Think of ways we can fight through it."

Amberpaw Amberpaw raised her head and listened quietly to the talking going on around her. She gave a quiet gasp as Amethyststar's death was mentioned, she remembered seeing the fiery EclipseClan leader arguing her case at the Gathering and then fighting like a lion at the great battle. The black femme had seemed so strong and bold whenever Amberpaw had seen her, it was a shock to hear she had been killed. And by her own kin. That was the really shocking bit. BrightClan would have to be told about Corbyn once they had returned home she realised, glancing at Cloudedsky. Amberpaw's honey coloured ears flickered a bit as she heard Runningcloud cursing but it could sometimes be heard at home in BrightClan. The lithe female hopped up onto the rocks beside Cloudedsky, walking quietly next to her mentor. She coulkd barely contain her excitement. "Will we be there soon Cloudedsky?" she whispered to her mentor, amber eyes sparkling. [/sub]

I hope that he will soon be dead. No cat deserves to live if they killed a leader. Corbyn was her son for Starclan's sake! She meowed angrily. then she took a deep breath. She never got angry. Runningcloud // "Let us put that behind us for now. StarClan will not come to us with malice in our hearts," the martial medicine cat said, surprised that such words were coming out of her mouth. The massive she-cat delved into the depths of the Moonshard. She turned to Lavenderpaw. "I, Runningcloud, medicine cat of SerenityClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the way of a medicine cat, and with your help she will serve your Clan for many moons. Lavenderpaw, do you promise to uphold the way of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan, and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?"We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days... Lavenderpaw warmly took in the framiliar light of the Moonstone, sighing like a contented kit as she recognized the change of air around it's surface. It was a beautiful place, and she was upset that her siblings never got to see it like she did. But the ginger she-cat didn't let that bring her down, at least not right now. She was already disturbed that the Tribe had the malice, the hatred, to keep the lived they took from others. Pastelsky would have liked to see them become warriors, and, of course, a medicine cat. But... maybe...
Lavenderpaw was shaken from her thoughts by Runningcloud's voice. Athough it carried traces of it, she did'nt really have the sweet, caring tones she found in the other medicine cat's voices. Instead, her's was the rumbling voice of a deputy, ready to go into battle and fight for her Clan. Runningcloud was known for that, that and her knowledge of right and wrong. The young cat's heart skipped a beat as her full medicine cat ceremony began. "I do." Her voice was firm and steady. This was what she wanted. She had changed so much from the time when she was a small kit! She had been hyperactive, jumpy and playful... Focusing on the Moonshard, she waited with anticipation for her mentor's next words. She couldn't keep still, flicking her tail along the stony ground and kneading with her paws.
Maybe she hadn't changed that much. [/blockquote]

"We're here." she said, before following Runningcloud into the Moonshard, and flicking her tail at Amberpaw to follow. She sat and watched Runningcloud perform the ceremony that she would be shortly be performing with Amberpaw, straight after Runningcloud had finished, to be precise. She folded her fluffy tail over her paws and waited patiently for the huge SerenityClan medicine cat to finish the ceremony.

Littlefox nodded in agreement with Runningcloud. Then she followed the rest into the Moonshard. She sat down, and waited patiently as the Serenityclan medicine cats performed their ceremony. As she waited, she noticed the moon was rising. They'd better hurry before they missed their chance to talk to Starclan.
