_{Tears streaked down her brown cheeks as the kitten ran through the forest. On and on she went, running until her paws could take her no more. Green eyes observed her surroundings and she found she was in the Shaded Clearing, by thew Birch Glade. Long grass swished around her, coming up just past her knees and she lay down looking into the small pool of water that occupied the clearing. Mousepaw's tear stained face looked back at her. She tried to imagine none of this had happened, that Pecankit was still here, Hazelpaw was still the bubbly nice kitten she had always been, Ryepaw wasnt ill and Grainpaw...well, Grainpaw hadn changed. She smiled weakly as she thought of her brother, the only one she really knew as Ryepaw had gotten ill before she could get to know him. Thoughts of Runespell and Leapordflight entered her head and she tried to shut out her mothers terrified face if she could not find yet another of her children. Maybe if she had never come to BrightClan none of this would have happened. She looked ino the pool again. 'Pecankit, if you're alive then please come home safely. Help me. I don't know what to do' she siad ion her head, willing her sister to hear her. She padded away and lay down in the long grass. This was it. She would stay here. She tried to sleep but the tears kept coming so she lay still in the grass, silently crying.}[/color]

Hazelpaw had been padding aimlessly through the forest when she heard the swish of undergrowth and the strong stench of her sister. She followed it quietly, keeping low to the ground. Her tail was still bristling from her outburst in camp, but she kept quiet and padded slowly past her sister, not wanting a confrontation. She finally stopped a little way from where Mousepaw had, and lay down, all her senses alert.

_{Mousepaw tensed as he sister padded past her, unsure of what she would do or say. Scared green eyes followed Hazelpaw until she stopped and lay down in the grass. Mousepaw opened her mouth but couldnt find the words so closed it again. She looked at her sister and a tear ran down her cheek. "I'm sorry...." she croaked, saying the only words she thought safe to say. She watched Hazelpaw nervously, waiting for her sisters reaction.}[/color]

Hazelpaw looked up from where she had been sitting glowering. She saw Mousepaw, scared, hunched, and softened a bit. Then she thought of Pecankit, where she could be, scared, alone, and her expression turned hard once more. 'Why didn't you stop her?' she rasped, claws raking the ground. She was sure that if she had been there with Pecankit she could have stopped her.

_{Mousepaws eyes filled with fresh tears. "I couldn't she...she said that she had to go. She didntnwant to but she had to. Then she said to tell Mum and Dad that she loved them and she walked away, through the ferns. I went after her and shouted on her but she was gone and her scent was nearly gone too. I...." Mousepaw paused, catching her breath. "I panicked, i didnt know what to do so i cried. I cried until Stormprowler came and then Mum came and she looked for her but she was gone and then Dad came too" she gabbled on, panting hard. She looked at her sister hard. "She told me i would understand one day. But i dont know what there is to understand. She just left, disappeared and i'm supposed to understand?! I dont think so" she said, her voice growing louder. She realised that she had stood up and sat down with a bump.}[/color]

Hazelpaw shook her head, working things out. 'Why didn't she tell me...' she asked, feeling that she had always been closer to Pecankit than any of her other siblings. Tears sprang to her eyes. Why did things have to change for her? Everything had changed when 'Aurora' and that badger had come, and when Mousepaw had turned up. 'Why did everyone have to turn up and change things? We were fine as a family until everyone came along and meddled!!!' she said, looking deliberately at Mousepaw.

_{Mousepaws eyes widened in shock as Hazelpaw accused her. "What was i meant to do?! I was a two moon old kit, wandering, hopelessly lost, hungry and thirsty with all my family murdered. I wasnt to know i would intrude on your family did i? BrightClan just happened to be the Clan i came across and i was happy there, at least until Pecankit gone and now. I had a family that loved me for once and they loved me for who i was, not like my sisters who hated me. And Aurora and the badger is hardly my fault either. They came a good while after i did" she said, scowling. Her tail lashed from side to side. Why was Hazelpaw being like this? She missed Pecankit just as much as she did, if not more because she had got on so well with the other kitten. She looked at the ground again, determined not to cry.}[/color]

Hazelpaw hissed, getting to her feet. 'Stop acting like Pecankit was your real sister! She wasn't, and never will be! She's my sister! And stop acting like you're so innocent! I can't stand it!' she said, a growl bubbling in her throat. Her claws had unsheathed and she slashed at the long grass in front of her. Her whole body was bristling now, and her normally mellow misty eyes had a flame springing up in them, fuelling her temper.

_{That was it. Mousepaw was sick of Hazelpaw. "Well what have i actually done?! There isnt anything to blame me for. You just need someone to blame, someone to vent your anger on and of course its poor little Mousepaw, the quiet one. Well i am sick of being looked down on and i am sick of you" she screeched at her sister, standing up, her mouse brown fur sticking up like she had electrical charges running through her and her big green eyes alight with anger. She unsheathed her claws and stood up taller. Her small paw slashed through the air as she swiped it inches from Hazelpaws nose.}[/color]

Hazelpaw blinked, going cross-eyes when she saw Mousepaw's nose coming up to meet her nose. That was it! She hissed, long and slow, then swiped her own paw straight down Mousepaw's cheek. She leapt at her blindly, claws scratching and teeth biting. It was a mad attack, done purely because she was hurting at the thought of new kits, the thought that her parents might like those kits better than her. She was aching for Pecankit as well, and the fact that she might also like Mousepaw better. That didn't matter now. She was fighting in a flurry of battle moves half-practiced. 'This is for Pecankit.' she whispered.

_{Mousepaw yowled with pain as Hazelpaws claws met her cheek. She rolled around with her sister, clawing and biting at every possbile bit of her. She felt that this was wrong, she was attacking a member of her family but she was too angry to pay any attention to that. As she heard Hazelpaws words she rolled over on top of her and looked down into her eyes. "Oh yes im sure Pecankit would love to know that you attacked me for her" she hissed, eyes narrowed into angry slits.}[/color]

Hazelpaw rolled Mousepaw over so she was on top. ((xD)) 'Well, I think she would think it right to attack rogues just as much as I do. Rogues that trespass. 'Cus that's what you are, isn't it. A rogue.' she said, her words escaping before her next torrent of attacks. She was now beside Mousepaw's leg, and she latched onto it with her teeth.

_{Mousepaw yowled again and slashed her claws down Hazelpaws side as the apprentice bit her leg. "She wouldnt want us to be fighting! I grew up with you, i see you as my sister, Pecankit as my sister, Grainpaw and Ryepaw as my brothers. It's not my fault where i came from! How would you like it? To be shunned and treated as if you were nothing just because you wern't aClanborn. Ypu've had the perfect life, up until Pecankit disappearing. And i was a kitten, for StarClans sakes, did you know Clan boundaries when you were a kitten? No, i didnt think so" she spat the last words and launched herself at Hazelpaw again, scratching at her sisters back, neck, anywhere her claws connected with fur.}

Hazelpaw shuddered, knowing deep down that Pecankit wouldn't want them to fight. She froze, letting Mousepaw's attacks wash over her as a fat, salty tear ran down her cheek. 'I... I know.' she said, half sighing the little sentence. 'Mousepaw... I'm sorry. I... I don't know what I was thinking. It was just me being stupid. As usual.' she looked up, eyes filled with fresh tears ready to fall. Suddenly they did, and Hazelpaw lay down sobbing, burying her face in her paws. 'I want... I want Pecankit back! It's not fair!' she sobbed. Her body was stinging, but she didn't notice.

<sub>Mousepaw watched her sister and burst into tears herself. "I'm sorry Hazelpaw. And you aren't stupid. Oh StarClan, why did you take Pecankit?" she wailed and collapsed next to her sister, sobbing her heart out.
After a while she sat up. She looked at Hazelpaw and then at herself in the pool. "Hazelpaw, if Mum and Dad see us like this and ask why they're going to kill us when they find out we've been fighting. What are we going to do?" she sais to her sister, her voice husky from crying.

Hazelpaw had managed to stop herself crying, and burst into tears all over again when she heard Mousepaw's words. 'We'll need to go and see Cloudedsky. But we'll have to tell them what happened sometime.' she said, sniffling. She sat up and licked the gash in her side, which was stinging the most. 'Shall we go in the back entrance to camp, and sneak into Cloudedsky's den?' she asked, brow furrowed.

Cloudedsky had found a big clump of horsetail, so was in a very good mood as she came padding easily through the undergrowth. Birds were singing, the sun was shining. All seemed well until she stumbled across the clearing that held Mousepaw and Hazelpaw. She took one look at them both and tutted loudly. 'What have you two been doing? Have you been fighting?' she asked, her tail swishing a little irritably. These two were normally such smart apprentices too, she thought to herself.

_{Mousepaw pressed closer to her sister. "I dont Kn......." she trailed off as Cloudedsky suddenly appeared. The little apprentice shrank back into her sister, her green eyes wide. She opened her mouth to speak but only a little squeak came out. She looked at her sister hopelessly. Leapordflight and Runespell were sure to find out now.}[/color]

Hazelpaw stood strong and let Mousepaw cuddle into her. 'Cloudedsky we... we just had a disagreement. But we sorted it out.' she said, gray eyes level with Cloudedsky's blue ones.

Cloudedsky sighed. 'Oh yes, I see that. Sorted it out by fighting did you?' she shook her head and walked closer to the two apprentices to get a better look at their injuries. 'You both cut each other up pretty bad for teo apprentices halfway through their training.' she said, walking round to the back of them and examining them from there too. 'You're parents will need to be told about this; I hope you realise that.'

_{Mousepaw siad nothing but nodded sadly. How different this cat was to the fiery apprentice she had been only moments earlier. She always did this. Clammed up when there were cats around her she wasnt sure of, or was nervous of. With Cloudedsky it was a bit of both, but mostly because now she was scared. Scared what her parents would do and say when they found out that their only daughters had been fighting. She let out a small whimper and looked hard at the ground, not trusting herself to look up into Cloudedskys blue eyes.}[/color]

Hazelpaw nodded silently. She knew only too well that her parents would be 'dissapointed' in her.

Cloudedsky, finished her examination, stood once more in front of the two cats. 'Okay, let's get back to camp. Mousepaw, don't look so scared, I'm not going to bite you.' she said, the smirked when she thought of adding it looks like Hazelpaw took care of that for me but she knew this would be terrible to say, her being a medicine cat and everything. She lead the way through the leafy undergrowth back to camp where the apprentices' parents would be waiting.
