The sun was still high in the sky, its heat beating down onto Sunjinx's ginger-splotched back. The warrioress padded calmly into camp, her green eyes swivelling from side to side as though searching for something. A small kitten dangled from her mouth. Both cats looked sodden, as though they had recently taken a swim. Sunjinx trotted into the main clearing, pricking up her ears as she peered around. Her small, snowy paws took her to the nursery, where she pushed her way inside. The warm walls and strong scent of milk reminded her of her two spells in the nursery, and she smiled. Her leaf-coloured eyes soon caught her daughter's, Ribbontail, silver bengal coat and she trotted to the she-cat's side.
Ribbontail looked up as her mother approached, her dark sapphire eyes narrowing in confusion. She took a quick look at the unfamiliar, damp kit, and pulled her own three daughters close to her stomach. The blind little Tansykit peered around, her ears pricked, though she kept her sightless green eyes tight shut. "What is it, Mamma?" she mewed, her soft voice frightened and wary. Ribbontail gently took the calico kitten from her mother and placed her by her forepaws. She took a good look at the kit's face. Her expression softened. "Poor little thing," she murmured. "What is your name?" Tansykit flattened herself against her mother's stomach, ears flattend suspiciously.

Thought a certain sadness still dwell reasonably in the kits gentle amber orbs, visible for all who searched their depths, if you ignored her optics and optics alone, her complexion was one of a mainly happy kit, dampened in heart maybe, her pelt quite soaked, but otherwise, her spirit still aflame and in-tact. Snowkit had memorized all the rules of her mothers when she went on outings, and was using them gracefully at this spot, trying her best to beam, and even if she didn't want to be here-for whatever reason-she was making the best of it, so true to her mothers word, the best of her situation would come. Her attention was immediately drawn to the other kits in the nursery-obviously never seeing as many kits in her lifetime, as short as it had been-especially in the Queen's litter of whom she had been placed with. She studied the afraid, eyes sealed, Tansykit and grinned as she cowered in fear of four-and-a-half moon Snowkit, but the calico kitten twirled her tail in light sympathy, "Hi!" She mewled to the other kit, wishing for a positive response or reply of some sort. Her amber gaze danced over to Ribbontail, immediately pausing, before she thought for a moment, deciding if she should repeat what she told Sunjinx, or just say what Sunjinx had called her. Her orbs narrowed confusedly, before agreeing with the later choice and responding to the Queen brightly, "Snowkit" She nodded, as if agreeing for herself on whatever choice she had made.

Ribbontail's sapphire eyes narrowed a little in surprise as the kitten announced her name. The silver bengal queen looked at her mother, before given the calico kit's soft, damp pelt a quick sniff. "What clan is she from?" she asked, her eyes confused. Tansykit cowered away from the unfamiliar kit, though she opened her wavering, blind green eyes. "H-h-hi," she mewed, voice shaking in uncertainty and fear.
Sunjinx shook her head. "She has no clan," she told her daughter with a dip of her chin. "I found her on a rock in the rapids. After I rescued her she said that she'd lost her mother." Ribbontail still looked confused, but the wariness had vanished from her eyes. She rubbed the calico kit's coat up the wrong way with her muzzle to dry it, and gave her a swift lick between the ears. "It's alright, Snowkit," she mewed kindly. "I'm Ribbontail. I'll look after you." Sunjinx lifted her patched tail. "I'll fetch Dragonflydance," she mewed, before ducking out of the nursery. Ribbontail continued to wash Snowkit, her face filled with motherly protectiveness.

The kit shrugged, not really caring whatever the Queen did to her, though she let it sink in kindly, the calico kits ears perking once the other kit replied, her amber orbs sharp with obvious glee, though sorrow always somewhere in the depths, hiding, but there, there until the sorrow is relieved. "What's your name?" She mewled to Tansykit curiously, amber orbs dancing in happiness of making a new friend, presumably around her age, as well. Younger by quite some, but around her age, kithood. Snowkit let her grin slowly spread to Ribbontail, her new caretaker, a she would refer to her foster mother, "I didn't lose my mother..." She replied, before her orbs narrowing, onlooker may be unsure where either from wanting to avoid a topic, or to stop her mom from sounding silly "I think she lost me..." She whispered softly, licking her white chest embarrassedly, before mumbling the name Ribbontail, letting it swirl and dance on her lips, tongue, and soul

Ribbontail smiled as the kit corrected Sunjinx. She sighed, wondering what it felt like to suddenly be seperate from her family. She had always had CloudClan all around her, and that was just how she liked it. The silver bengal continued to groom Snowkit's calico fur until it was neat and dry. It was unusual fur; most of the CloudClanners were either tabbies, greys, or patched cats. Ribbontail gave Snowkit a last lick between the ears, smiling. She hoped her daughters would get on with their new littermate. She was pretty sure Tansykit would get used to her, Frostkit made friends with anything that moved... But Dapplekit could be more of a problem. She was bold and became jealous easily. Tansykit lifted her head as the foreign kitten spoke again. She swallowed nervously, then spoke. "Tansykit," she mewed quietly.
At that moment Sunjinx returned, with a snowy white cat in her wake. The slender white she-cat's scent was of herbs and warmth - she was a medicine cat. Dragonflydance blinked her clear blue eyes at Snowkit, a smiled a warm, friendly smile. "Hello, Snowkit," she mewed gently. "I'm Dragonflydance. Can you tell me if you hurt anywhere, please?" Draginflydance's gaze scanned the calico; she looked unhurt, if a little windswept.

The amber orbs of the kit remained bright as Tansykit continued to reply, feeding the sociality of her personalty she never got being single kit of her litter, or talking to older cats... where ever her mother took her, she didn't remember much anymore. She remembered her mother clearly, as well as her scent, and only a few of the strong bonding moments they had together, like when she first saw her mother with her newly acquainted eyesight. She let the kit's name bounce around her mouth playfully, as if tasting it, unsure if it was prey she should eat or not, or a good toy to play with, a good friend to make. "I'm Snowkit" She chirped in reply, her grin spreading infectiously across her face, her ears twitching happily. As the clan's medicine cat came in, Snowkit looked up at the new 'creature' excitedly, being exposed to so much in one day, to her, was completely wonderful. She had seen Warriors, Queens, and now other kits to be her friends. "Do I hurt?" She giggled, beside her heart with due reasons, which ached for her real mother, "I think I'm fine" She nodded excitedly, her tail twirling now, with extra hyper energy.

Now, it wasn't often Barrenpaw visited the nursery. In fact, this must be the first time the soon-to-be-warrior had visited the warm, milk-scented den since being apprenticed, but he had to bring some fresh-kill to the queens. Muttering something under his breath, Barrenpaw - who had matured quite a bit, he had to say, although his temper was still quite easy to set off - dropped a small vole next to Ribbontail. "Hello, Dragonflydance," he murmured, out of respect rather than being friendly. His pale aqua-blue gaze passed over Snowkit rather roughly, but he didn't make any attempt to introduce himself - why would a silly kit want to know, anyway? Besides, she'd know soon. Stormstar had to make him a warrior. He had spent a lot of time being stubborn during training with Haloheart, and it had better pay off. "Do you have any idea where Otterpaw is? the scruffy gray-brown tom sighed, sitting down.[/blockquote]

Dragonflydance smiled down at the peppy kit. She had spirit - she would make a good warrior some day. The pure white she-cat quickly examined Snowkit, lifting her paws and peering into her eyes. "She seems fine," she told Ribbontail, her gentle voice pouring like smoke from between her lips. "Just keep her warm for now, so that she doesn't catch a chill. If you're worried about anything, just come and tell me." The medicine cat turned to leave, but was stopped by Barrenpaw. She smiled kindly at the scruffy apprentice, and dipped her head to him. At her question, she turned her head slightly to one side. "No, sorry," she mewed pleasently. "She'll be here around here somewhere, dear." Dragonflydance then left the nursery, her long tail held high. Sunjinx's green eyes swept the nursery a last time, before she followed the medicine cat.
Ribbontail couldn't help hiding a smile at Dragonflydance's words. Barrenpaw wouldn't take kindly to being treated like a kit. The silver bengal queen nodded in thanks to the tom. "Thanks, Barrenpaw," she mewed, her sapphire eyes sincere. "Otterpaw's probably out hunting, or feeding the elders, or visiting her mother." Ribbontail then peered down at Snowkit again, checking the calico kitten was alright. Tansykit had pulled her ginger and white splotched body closer to the unfamiliar kit, and extended a paw. She carefully felt the other kit's face - yes, definately a kit. She swallowed nervously. "These are m-my sisters," she explained shakily, gesturing to where the soft snuffling sounds of sleeping were coming from. "D-Dapplekit and Frostkit."

Snowkit brightened as the new cat entered the nursery, a 'new' type of cat, again, an apprentice. She grinned at the young tom, her tail tickling his paws playfully before she adjusted herself to look at the apprentice properly, and grinned, assuming his name was Barrenpaw as Ribbontail and Dragonflydance had called him that. "I'm Snowkit" She piped up to the apprentice, who seemed not to notice her-other than once glance, if that-cheerfully, as the medicine cat poked and prodded at her, making sure she was as healthy as a kit could be.
She turned excitedly to the other kit, Tansykit, as she replied in her nervous manner, before she took a peek at her sisters, Frostkit and Dapplekit as Tansykit had said, and technically her new litter mates. She peered at them excitedly, hoping they would be as nice as Tansykit, and they could all be friends. That was how Snowkit's mind churned, as rainbow-y and fantasy like it seemed, she was a kit, and other than her mother losing her, nothing else life changing had happened to the kit. She giggled, before mewling back to Tansykit "I... didn't have any siblings before" She whispered nervously, her amber orbs narrowing at the mention of her... family, "Do they ever wake up?" She teased to the other kit lightly.

Stormy blue-green and gray eyes opened, peeking out at the she-kit. A loud meow announced his awake presence as the mottled gray, tawny, and white tom poked his head out of the nursery. "Do I count as a sibring?" Grasskit squeaked. He lifted his head onto his bed border of twigs and grass, grinning cutely. He wagged his tail and pulled himself out of bed, tumbling over his paws and landing on his bum. He blinked in surprise and then giggled. The tomkit waved. "Herro... my name's Grasskit. Who're you?"

Tansykit smiled uncertainly at the other kit's joke. The ginger and white kitten shifted uncomfortably, not sure if she was supposed to laugh or not. In the end she just uttered a little cough, that could have been taken for a laugh, or just that, a cough. Tansykit blinked her unseeing eyes and twitched her ears. "Yes," she mewed quietly. "The only time they stay still is when they're sleeping." Tansykit peered blindly over Snowkit's shoulder - she was pretty sure the other kitten wouldn't want her rolling, sightless eyes fixing on her's. The she-cat licked her paws, thinking to herself whilst she waited for Snowkit to reply.

The strange calico kit's amber optics brightened cheerfully as another kit tumbled over, and she nodded excitedly as he asked if he counted as a sibling, and for a poor kit who never had any, she'd accept any friendly kit willing to be a sibling. She blinked for a moment, studying Grasskit happily, before waving her tail extravagantly to the tom kit, and just ahead of replying to his request, most likely for her own name. She sounded the other kits name ceremonially around her mouth as she always did when meeting someone new, and finally replied, "I'm Snowkit!" The calico she-kit mewled back happily, obviously excited with all these cats around her.
She turned back to Tansykit, no less excited a she spoke to her, never wary or bored with a friend, especially her first, like this she-kit had been when she first entered the nursery. "Hehee, I think I'm like that" She replied happily, pondering blankly where either the kit had coughed or laughed at her tease, before her mind churned blankly, how long it'd be until Tansykit could see.

Tansykit jumped as Grasskit's voice sounded nearby. She hadn't been prepared for it. She tried to regain her composure, flattening her fur and casually licking her chest. The ginger and white kitten lifted her head again, eyes down. She wasn't entirely confident with Grasskit seeing her eyes, though she liked him well enough. "Hi, Grasskit," she mewed after a moment, swallowing a little. Tansykit could practically hear Snowkit's brain ticking like a clock, thinking, taking in what had happened to her. She could taste the river on her tongue, so she guessed somebody had found her near it. Tansykit rested her head on her forepaws, blinking slowly and wondering how she was going to get by without sight. Ribbontail smiled gently as Grasskit tumbled into view. She gave him a swift lick between the ears. "Careful, you," she purred fondly.

Grasskit mewed and waved a paw at both kits. He hadn't noticed that he had surprised Tansykit when he bumbled out of his The tomkit neared Tansykit and pressed against her, purring slightly. "Tansykit's rike my second sister. My other sister, Spottedkit, is asweep," Grasskit grinned, coming forward to Snowkit and touching his nose to hers. "You can be my sister too, Ribbontair." He stepped onto his haunches, placing his front feet on Ribbontail's shoulder and smiling impishly at the queen. He mewed playfully.

Snowkit giggled as Grasskit touched noses with her, aflame with the new concept of it all. One would need to remember she had not grown up in clan life, and certain customs would be certainly new to her, but the little calico she-kit strode through it all in cheer, awaiting impatiently for the next new thing to appear in front of her. The she-kit watched as Tansykit hide her orbs from the tom-kit, and wondered why, but figured she had reasons of her own, but still confused why she had shown them to herself, when she had most likely known Grasskit for a longer period of time than herself, who was dropped off at the nursery, not too long ago. "All the kits are asleep" She mused happily, yet even more excitement in meeting them all once they awoke. "Spottedkit, Dapplekit, Frostkit" She attempted to recite all the kits she knew of, whom she hadn't met yet, or... not really, not awake, with her heart aflame with joy, yet a small section of her seemed to remain always sad, always hiding... somewhere.

Tansykit glanced up at Snowkit as she recited the names of the kit's she knew. She let her blind green eyes graze the calico's before hastening to look down again. The ginger and white kitten smiled slightly. "Dapplekit and Frostkit will be apprenticed, soon," she mewed. "But then there's Midnightlove's kits, too." Tansykit lifted her tail. She had heard Midnightlove's tiny kits in the night, snuffling and squealing as they slept. She had wondered whether she'd ever been like that, before she opened her eyes, before she cared, or even knew that she was blind... Ribbontail smiled at Grasskit and nodded. "Of course little Grasskit, I'll be your sister," she mewed, amused.
A shadow slipped through the nursery entrance, brushing past Barrenpaw. It was Tawnypaw. She said nothing to the other apprentice - there was still a fair amount of mutual dislike between them. The brown and white she-cat looked drained, tired and tearful. She padded to Ribbontail and the kits, tail and ears down. "What is it, Tawnypaw?" she asked the apprentice, her voice concerned. Tawnypaw shook her head, dull green eyes like stone. "I was sent to tell the other queens about..." she hesitated. "... About him." With that she dipped her head and disappeared into the gloom of the nursery.

"Yay!" Grasskit squeaked, so excited he fell backwards from his place on his haunches. He blinked and rolled over onto his belly, giggling and turning with a half-tilted head to Snowkit. "I may not rook rike it but I'm gonna be an apprentice soon too!" he told her, grinning from his sprawled-out place by Ribbontail's legs. He looked like a newborn fawn.
He suddenly looked up as Ribbontail spoke and he hastily rolled out of the way of Tawnypaw, who looked empty. He scooted out of her way, mewing in fright from under Ribbontail's belly. "What's wrong with Tawnypaw?"

Snowkit giggled in response to Ribbontail as well, her orbs clouding with joy in her new home, thinking that although there was no better place than with her mother and father, the second best had to be in CloudClan, where she was now, with a lot of friends to make and some already made. She tickled one of Grasskit's splayed paws teasingly, "Oh yes, Then how old are you?" She chirped, hoping she was not too much younger than Grasskit, or completely dull if he was teasing her.
Her amber optics clouded over as the blank Tawnypaw walked in, saying a few words to Ribbontail-which Snowkit over heard, not understanding-before leaving just as blank, no expression of any happiness for life, or joy of the days simple pleasures, something bad was obviously happening. She sat down next to Grasskit, whom was near Ribbontail, and quietly as her foster mother frighteningly, "Who's... him" She copied Tawnypaw's tone with the word him unpleasantly, before sticking her tongue in her cheek, obviously unpleased with Grasskit's fear, and Tawnypaw's unhappiness.

Tansykit flinched as she felt the empty presence of Tawnypaw enter the nursery. The blank apprentice scared her, with her bland, emotionless scent and her harsh words. The ginger and white kitten flattened herself against her mother's stomach, and whimpered slightly, "Does she mean Cormorantfeather?" she quietly questioned her mother. Ribbontail nodded, before speaking for Tansykit. "Yes, dear." Tansykit flattened her ears. "He seemed quite nice to me," she mewed, sounding confused and crestfallen. Ribbontail licked her daughter between the ears, before turning to Snowkit. "Tawnypaw's mother died recently. She and her sister Dewpaw were devestated. They've never had their father in their life - Cormorantfeather. He was once Cormorantstar, leader of CloudClan, but he disappeared just as the kits were born. Now he has returned, seeking his daughter's friendship. Tawnypaw just hasn't got any love left to give." The silver-pelted bengal sadly licked Snowkit's cheek, upset that the calico had had to witness such depression on her first day in CloudClan.

"I agree with Tansykit. He was nice to me too," Grasskit said quietly, poking his head out from between Ribbontail's legs. He blinked, luminous blue-green and gray eyes surveying the females around him. He looked over at Snowkit and puffed out his chest like a hedgehog. "I'm five moons," he declared, wagging his tail slightly. He pulled himself to his paws and looked at Ribbontail. "I bet I could make Tawnypaw feer better! My sister arways says that I'm good at cheering cats up." He grinned hopefully.

"Oh" Snowkit replied obviously, her personalty burnt out with all the fear and terror around her, as well as confused feelings. She immediately regained her self, smiling nervously as she tilted her head to the side, trying to imagine the tom, and if he'd be nice to her. She shrugged, passing by the comment softly as she felt immediately jealous that she had not been here her whole life, experiencing what CloudClan kits do, for her whole life.
Snowkit grinned quickly, her tailtip brushing Grasskit's nose teasingly, as she replied to his puff of chest proudly herself, "Well, I'm Four and a Half Moons!" She replied just as proud, thinking ahead of herself what it'd be like to become an apprentice, and if she'd have her ceremony, and if she would have it with Grasskit, and excited for her new name to be Snowpaw, instead of the lousy kit, whom she thought displayed her young-ness too freely. Snowkit stood up beside Grasskit, her snowy and calico pelt mixing oddly with his as she looked eagerly at Ribbontail "I think I could cheer cats up good too!" She nodded, thinking lamely of someone who said she was good at cheering them up, just like Grasskit had said his sister, and she shrugged, mumbling something as she momentarily gazed at her paws, before cheering up, "I'm sure I could though, real well!" The small kit mewled excitedly.

Ribbontail smiled gently at Grasskit, and then Snowkit. "I'm sure you could, dears, but for now Tawnypaw just needs to be left to think alone," she mewed softly, licking both kits' ears. The silver bengal queen sighed in worry, out of the kit's vision. She was so worried about... Well, about everything, really. The creeping sense of danger, and mistrust. She wanted to hold her kits close, all four of them, and never let go. Tansykit may have been blind, but she wasn't stupid, and her disability made her other senses better. She could scent her mother's nervousness, and it was infectious. She felt anxiety creep up her paws into her chest and heart, and shuddered.

Snowkit's ears twitched dismally, obvious disappointment in her frame as she looked to Grasskit, as if 'What now?' or 'Any other entertaining ideas?' before looking to Tansykit and Ribbontail. She smiled lightly, sensing something, yet unsure what it was. She could feel bad, yet not tune in to anything else. Just bad, bad, bad vibes. Yet, one could not guess, what they were about. They could be about some personal reason, and not about this cat whom Tawnypaw was worried about. "Oh..." she mewled again, shuffling beside Tansykit now, her calico pelt pressing against the other kits. "How old are you?" she asked the other kit brightly, though her head tilted obviously in wonderment. Tansykit couldn't see... she'd never see (lightbulb xD)... what would she do when she was six moons? Would she be a warrior apprentice like Grasskit and herself? Or... would she face an early retirement like many warriors in her past, whom had become blind.
She shook her head, her amber eyes bright as always, as she glanced from Ribbontail, to Tansykit.
