Today was the day that the Clan would be completed. Today was the day that a high position would be filled by the most worthy cat. Today was the day that a Deputy would be made. Today was also the day that some kits would be made into apprentices and warriors would be made into mentors. It was an important day for the Clan but it was a very important day for the leader, Wrenstar. It was his first ceremony that he would conduct.
The large earthen brown colored leader padded across camp toward the large root that he stood on to speak to the Clan. It had been a long night of thinking of the new Deputy and looking around camp, making sure that he had made the right choice. Once he was sure that he had madde the right decision, he started to think of mentors of Leopardflight's kits. There was Hazelkit, Grainkit, and Ryekit. Pecankit was missing and there was Mousekit too. Once the Clan was gathered, he would spot the perfect cats to mentor the kits. He already knew that Ghostlywind would mentor Ryekit because they were a good match. Hauntingdream would mentor Hazelkit, maybe but Grainkit and Mousekit, he didn't know about.
Sighing, the tom picked up a trot and leaped up onto the root. It wasn't high but he could see out over his Clan. A loud low roar rang through the clearing of BrightClan.
"All cat's old enough to catch their own prey, gather under the HighRoot for a Clan meeting!"
His dark blue eyes shined as he waited for the Clan to gather.

Black shadows melted together to become the lithe frame of Ghostlywind. Eerie blue eyes--about as haunting as the wind that blew in BrightClan Camp--fixated on Wrenstar. Small black paws barely touched the earth beneath him as the spectre silently slipped towards the HighRoot for the Meeting.
Electric irises glanced over the camp for Stormfeather, the same eyes that had seen the tiny wren singing on the HighRoot before Wrenstar had become leader. Ghostlywind had not argued StarClan's will. He had already told the Clan that he would follow StarClan's decision before his own. However, a haunting breeze blew, chilling him to the flesh. How odd. What did this mean?
The tom sat in silence, waiting for others to appear and for Wrenstar's thunderous voice to speak.

Stormfeather looked around as she raced into camp. Cats were gathering under the Highroot, so she ran ahead and stopped beside Ghostlywind. "Looking for me?" She asked him, grinning. Her ice blue eyes fell onto his eerie blue orbs and she meowed, "Do you know who the deputy will be?"

~Mousekit~ Mousekit padded dejectedly into the clearing. She knew that it was her apprentice ceremony today but she couldnt be happy. Not when Pecankit wouldnt be here to share. It had been a while since her sister had gone missing and Mousekit was torn up inside about it. She sat down and looked around for her mother. A single tear dropped onto the ground between her paws. She missed her sister so much, she didnt know if she would be able to be a good enough apprentice without her. ~Amberpaw~ Amberpaw stuck her head out of the medicine cat den and looked around at the clearing of cats. Her eyes rested on Mousekit and she felt a pang of sympathy for the little kitten. With a sigh Amberpaw turned to face Cloudedsky. "Should we go to the ceremony?" she asked. She gave herself a quick groom and looked back at Cloudedsky, waiting for her mentor to answer. ~Swanflight~ Swanflights graceful figure slid into camp, her snowy white coat blowing with the light breeze. She sat beneath the Highroot at looked up at Wrenstar with dazzling dark blue eyes. She flashed her brother a smile and out her tail neatly around her paws. She glanced at Mousekit and wondered if she should go over and comfort her but decided not to. The little kit needed her mother now, not a warrior that she hardly knew. Licking a paw, she drew it over her ears a few times whilst still looking up at the proud form of her brother.

Leopardflight padded into the clearing with Hazelkit in tow, her other kits seemed to have run off somewhere. The she-cat's coat was dull and patchy, and her eyes were sad. She missed Pecankit so much, but tried to hide it for the rest of her kits. She manouvred Hazelkit over to Mousekit, and licked the little foster kit on the head, waiting for the ceremony to start.
Cloudedsky looked up from a pile of herbs she had been sorting through. 'Yes, we should go. It would be rude not to.' she said, pushing the herbs to one side and getting up. She motioned with her tail for Amberpaw to follow and padded into the clearing, where she sat close to the front of the crowd.
Hauntingdream trotted from the warriors den, happier after her walk with Wrenstar the other night. She was visibly nicer, she was taking more care of herself and was altogether more chatty and brighter. She looked around the clearing quickly, and spotted Wrenstar's sister, Swanflight. She padded over to the pretty white she-cat. 'Do you mind if I sit next to you?' she asked, sitting down anyway.

~Mousekit~ Mousekit looked up at her mother and buried her head into her soft chest. She cried silently into her mother and then shuffled closer to Hazelkit so that she couldnt get any nearer even if she tried. She sniffed loudly and looked up at Wrenstar, waiting for the ceremony to start. ~Amberpaw~ Amberpaw nodded at Cloudesky and padded out of the den after her mentor. She weaved between the cats already in the clearing and sat down next to Cloudedsky. She looked back over at Mousekit and was happy to see that she was with her mother and sister now. "What do you think happened to Pecankit?" she asked Cloudedsky, looking at her mentor with interest. If anyone knew what had become of Pecankit it would be Cloudedsky. ~Swanflight~ Swanflight looked up as Hauntingdream came over to her. She knew that the she-cat was a bit, well, weird, as was her brother but today she looked nicely turned out and was actually quite happy to talk. Swanflight was unsure but as she was nearly always nice to everyone she nodded. "Of course Hauntingdream" she said, smiling. "How are you then?" she asked, pleased to have someone to talk to until the ceremony began.

Ghostlywind's expression lifted when he saw Stormfeather. He gently licked her muzzle. "Yes, I was," he said softly. As to her second question, he nodded up to Wrenstar. "He'll be makin' that decision."
His head tilted to look around at all the cat's. "Pecankit's apprentice ceremony is today," he said quietly and sadly, seeing the dejected faces of Leopardflight and Mousekit, among others. He purred against Stormfeather's neck and glanced at his sister. "Well...she sure looks happy," he commented drily, raising his eyebrows. He caught who she was beaming at and nearly burst out laughing: was his sister going to be mates with Wrenstar?

Leopardflight wrapped her tail around the two kits. Hazelkit snuggled into her sister. 'I miss her too.' she whispered.
Cloudedsky, who had been looking at the sky happily, looked down, her eyes now clouded. 'I've been meaning to talk to Wrenstar about that. I've been having a dream, the same dream a few times, and everything is dark, then claws slash through the darkness... There's sometimes a voice, but that's only been in the most recent dreams.' she said, looking worriedly at her apprentice.
Hauntingdream smiled at Swanflight, not noticing her brother. 'I'm fine thank you, you?' she asked, licking one paw and drawing it over her ear a couple of times.

~Mousekit~ Mousekit nodded and licked her sisters cheek. She snuggled into Leopardflight and blinked at the sky a few times. Please make Pecankit be alright. Make her come back like she said. She only said she would be gone for a while, maybe she will come back? she wondered, hoping with all her might. ~Amberpaw~ Amberpaw nodded slowly at her mentors words. "So do you think shes alive? Do you know whose voice it is?" she asked the questions, trying to understand. It was hard work being a medicne cat. ~Swanflight~ "I'm good, thank you" Swanflight answered smiling. She looked at Hauntingdream again and realized that the she-cat had never looked so happy. "Whats got you so pleased?" she asked, glad that the normally withdrawn she-cat was finally being able to have som ehappiness of her own, instead of just watching others with theirs. Cloudedsky shook her head. 'I don't know, and I can quite make out what they're saying either, so I can't work it out.' she said, shaking her head. She hoped as much as anyone that Pecankit was alright.
Hauntingdream chuckled. 'I don't know. I think it's just the atmosphere, the warm day, you know.' she said, not wanting to let on that she and Wrenstar had shared secrets and other things with each other.
As Wrenstar started talking about picking his new deputy, Cloudedsky felt a rush of cold, eerie wind filter through camp. She turned to Amberpaw, about to say something, when she shook her head and shivered. She looked towards Ghostlywind, and shook her head again.

~Amberpaw~ Amberpaw nodded at what Cloudedsky was saying and then turned her gaze to Wrenstar. She noticed Cloudedsky shiver and look at Ghostlywind. "What? Are you ok Cloudedsky?" she asked, looking at her mentor worridly, she didnt want her to be coming down with something. ~Swanflight~ Swanflight chuckled at Hauntingdream, the she-cat was just acting so happy. "The atmosphere? Well i suppose, I'm quite excited, cos its Wrenstars first ceremony to perform so thats a good thing" Swanflight said, looking back up at her brother and wondering when he was going to begin. Cloudedsky blinked at her apprentice. 'Yes, I'm fine. I... I just got a feeling... I think Ghostlywind should become deputy.' she said, unable to shake off the feeling of sureness.
Hauntingdream nodded. 'Yes, it's bound to be exciting for him.' she said. She looked up at the leader, and smiled to herself. They had had a good talk the other night, it felt like he had really understood her, the first one to do that in a while.

~Amberpaw~ Amberpaw looked at Cloudedsky in surprise. "You think...what? Did you get an omen?" the apprentice asked excitedly. This whole business of being a medicine cat was fun and she enjoyed it. She couldnt imagine being a normal apprentice now, she knew that being a medicine cat was what she wanted to do in life. ~Swanflight~ Swanflight nodded and smiled, pleased to be have a cat that was happy for Wrenstar to have a conversation with. She wished her brother would hurry up but she knew that he was waiting for more cats to arrive before he started, as every good leader should.

Ryekit followed his mother and sisters, his ears pricked. He was happy, he knew he had to be, with Pecankit missing. Hazelkit and Mousekit were so sad, and Grainkit didn't seem around much- so he had to be strong for them. He licked Mousekit's ear. "It'll be alright, Mousekit. When she comes back, she'll be an apprentice, too." He tried to make it sound like he was sure his sister would return, but he couldn't help his eyes brim with bitter tears. He refused to look at his mother, knowing she'd be concerned to see him crying. He swallowed, smiled feebly, and sat down, curling his brown tail over his paws in wait for the ceremony to begin.
OOC: I hate to point it out, and if you did it on purpose ignore me, but Brook, Runespell's the kits' father, so he'd be mentoring his own son. ^^;

Stormfeather's eyes grew wide and sad. "Yeah.... It'll be a sad day for Pecankit." Her eyes suddenly grew bright. "Who is your sister looking at! ?" She asked, almost laughing from the look on her face. She purred with amusement.

Ghostlywind's brows raised and he smirked. "Wrenstar, no doubt, but I don' know why. The brat declared that she'd nev'r love again," he snickered, pressing against Stormfeather's neck. "And is jus' me or is it cold in here?" The most brisk wind seemed to be blowing in the main clearing.

Stormfeather looked at who Hauntingdream was looking at so dreamily. It had to be Wrenstar. She smirked. "Yeah. I think she is." Just then, she too noticed the breeze. "It is a little chilly." She shuffled closer to Ghostlywind.

Stormfeather was about to mention something else when a yowl caught her sharp ears. Ice blue orbs scanned the clearing for the cat from which the sound originated. They landed on a grey brown tom. No. It couldn't be. "Ghostlywind... It's Thrushstar!" She meowed, anxiously flicking her tail at the tom.

Cloudedsky craned her neck to see what the commotion was about. She gasped when she saw the gray brown pelt of Thrushstar. 'Hmm. I wonder how he got back...' the medicine cat pondered simply.

Swirlpaw was about to go out to hunt again. Not for the clan but for himself. He needed to do somthing other than remove the elders ticks and changing the beding of the leader. Also he needed to be alone.
Then he heard a mew and it sounded familiar. Runing out to where he could see who spoke he Gasped.Thrushstar? Is he really back! He was. Swirlpaw was about to purr of happieness but he stoped himself trying to look strong for his prievious leader.

[ ooc; ] Yes Blue. I know! How many times do I have to say I was in a bad mood yesterday? o.o
Wrenstar flicked his tail for the Clan to be silent as he was just about to speak. He was to start with the apprentices and their mentors first. Save the Deputy for last. It would be worth the wait. When the earthen brown tom heard the yowl of another cat, a scowl covered his face as he whipped around to face them. How dare someone interrupt his ceremony! There were five cats. One gray/brown tom, a she-cat, and three apprentice aged cats. His dark blue eyes narrowed to look closely at the cats. The two older cats were familiar to him. He flicked his ears back as a smell flew through his nose. Two-legs and something else that he didn't know. Suddenly, as the cats moved closer, he realized who one of them was. Thrushstar! The old BrightClan leader. He was back, with more cats?
Wrenstar fluffed his long fur and flicked his ears. "Thrushstar," he murmured loud enough for his Clan to hear. "I am surprised to see you back here among your Clanmates. Who did you bring along?" he meowed more clearly as he looked at the cats that stood behind him.

Ghostlywind's electric eyes froze and he turned slowly. "Thrushstar?" he whispered, the name rolling off his tongue. He looked from Wrenstar to Thrushstar before running heedlessly to the brown tom.
"Where...? I...? We've been...? Oh StarClan...," he cried out hoarsely. Only StarClan knew the torment that gripped him night and day. Suicide kept crossing his mind for failing his leader in that great time of need. It was agony, greeting the successor of the one he had failed. Were he a Twoleg, he would have fallen on both hands and knees. "I failed ya. I'm sorry..."

If Wrenstar was a two-leg, it would look like he was raising an eyebrow. He was quite confused with what the former Leader was trying to say. He glanced over at Ghostlywind and narrowed his eyes. Failed what? He blinked his dark blue eyes a few times and shook his head slowly. So he was back. Would he want to be Leader again? He flicked his ears back at the thought but then he felt Hauntingdream's pelt brush against his. It seemed to comfort him. He turned his head toward her and smiled softly. He was happy that the Leader was safe and back. He flicked his tail for silence over his Clan. "I see.." he murmured, looking over the cats. Yes. That's where he knew the she-cat. She seemed clueless about what was going on. He smiled at her and then nodded to the apprentices. "What may I do for you, Thrushwing?" he meowed, jumping from the stump and padding slowly over to the former Leader.

Wrenstar was unsure about it. He knew that the former Leader just wanted to join the Clan and he did trust his old Leader. It was the come back he would get when the other Clans found out that he was keeping a SerenityClan cat in BrightClan. His dark blue eyes scanned the black she-cat and then the three apprentices. They looked strong and healthy, good aditions to the Clan. He looked back at Thrushwing. "You are welcome as a warrior of BrightClan but what would you like me to do with the apprentices. I was just about to make some kits into apprentices. I could join them with the ceremony, unless you would like to mentor them," he meowed. He wouldn't mind mentoring one. It would be interesting to mentor a cat that wasn't Clanborn and that had learned differently then the Clan cats from this area.

~Mousekit~ Mousekit nodded at what Ryekit said but she was still upset. At the sound of the other cats she looked out from between her mothers front legs. She recognised Thrushstar but kept quiet. She was a mere kit and this was none of her business. ~Amberpaw~ Amberpaw looked up in surprise at the entering cats. She listened to the Thrushwing talking and then shuffled closer to Cloudedsky. "Maybe we should go over to them" she whispered although it didnt look like Wrenstar and Thrushwing were going to start fighting so that was fine. She looked at the the other cats properly and recognised one of them immediately. "Morninghawk" she breathed, looking at the she cat. But the old SerenityClan medicine cat didnt look all there so she wouldnt rember who she had been. Amberpaw blinked inn sorrow at the black she-cat and then looked back at Cloudedsky. ~Swanflight~ Swanflight turned and narrowed her eyes at the entering cats. Thrushwing had just interupted Wrenstars ceremony. She watched for a moment and then looked up in surprise at Hauntingdream standing right next to her brother, brushing pelts with his. She strode determindly over to Wrenstar and stood on his other side. She opened her mouth to speak but then closed it as she had no words to say. She merely blinked dazzling blue eyes at the newcomers.

Ghostlywind swallowed and looked up. Thrushstar--no, Thrushwing--was different somehow. He backed away, his face showing no emotion. Did Thrushwing understand his pain? Ice crackled in his eyes and he narrowed them, turning away from him towards Stormfeather. "Y'ar right. I haven't failed 'im," the black tom growled, facing his porcupine-sharp fur towards the newcomers so he was back in his former position: looking at Wrenstar.
Exhaling heavily as the eerie wind seemed to pick up and die down multiple times, he became deathly silent: a rather bad omen. The black tom should never become solemnly silent. It mean his emotions were in a terrible disarray. He pressed against Stormfeather for comfort, bringing up his haunting gaze to Wrenstar. He threw glances at his other Clan members. What would they think of this? Though the mad tom was glad Thrushwing and the others were save, he felt somewhat betrayed for some reason. He didn't know why...
