i will wait for this moment. when our lips collide we'll almost stop the earth. your in my arms tonight. No matter how loud the birds sang, no matter how brightly the sun shone, still tradegy cut the air like an invisible knife. The stench of blood seemed even to stain the air here, deep in the confines of SerenityClan territory. Anxiety clung to every pore of the forest, as though StarClan had drenched it in tears. Soft pawsteps cut through the deathly silence, followed by a swish of a tail. The undergrowth rustled softly, and the wind seemed to whisper in a sinister voice.
Crocuspool's tortoiseshell pelt stuck out like a rabbit in a fox's den. The sleek, earthy colours, mixed with the snowy white, flashed revealingly through the tall oak trees. Her small, slender frame weaved easily around a thornbush, her small, delicate paws brushing the grass with barely a sound. She lifted her nose, smelling the fresh, clean air of the ravine. She sat near the jutting cliff, not too near the crumbling lip. She curled her patched tail over her paws, leaf coloured eyes bright. She was ready. Now she just needed Brindletalon. [/size] so i'm alive in love. so i'm alive in love. oh i'm in love.

The brindle tom followed his friend, trying to stay close behind her. This whole Tribe thing had him worried and he didnt want anything to happen to Crocuspool. Dark brown eyes watched the beautiful tortoiseshell move through the trees and finally move up the steep slope to the ravine. Scrambling up until he was beside the pretty femme he finally sat down, hos own orbs searching her leaf green ones for a clue of what was going on. It must be pretty serious for her to drag him all the way out here. Looking up into the clear blue sky to calm himself he finally fixed his gaze on the cat in front of him.
"Whats wrong?" [/blockquote][/sub]

Crocuspool heard Brindletalon's pawsteps before she saw him, heavier than her's but still soft enough to not stir the trees. She turned her head, green eyes grazing the light brown dappled tom. She rose, brushing her muzzle against his. The tortoiseshell and white she-cat then drew back, looking at her paws. She gave a sigh. "When you..." she hesitated. "When you were hunting, I thought... I thought yiu'd gone to fight the Tribe. I thought you'd die. That's when I realised, Brindletalon..." Crocuspool blinked, tears falling onto her paws. "That's when I realised, and don't hate me, please..." It seemed an eternity before the words unstuck from her throat.
"... I love you."

Brindletalon felt a twinge of despair as Crocuspool started crying and opened his mouth to say something, comfort her. But as she said the rest the words stuck in his throat. "You....I....What?" he ended up spluttering, looking at the green eyed gaze of the beautiful femme in front of him. And thats when it hit him too. You didnht go around thinking every she-cat you met was beautiful. Crocuspool was the only cat that made him feel like this. He touched his slightly larger brown paw to her white one and looked her staright in the eyes. "I could never hate you" he said firstly, shuffling closer. "And I.....I love you too" he said, gently licking his mates wet cheeks. His mate's [/blockquote][/sub]

Crocuspool waited, her hazel eyes locked onto Brindletalon's. As his face twisted and he stumbled over words, the tortoiseshell's heart sank, falling, falling until it plummeted down to the very bottom of her paws. The beautiful she-cat bunched up her limbs in horror, ready to spring away from the terrifying embarrasment and awkwardness of the situation. Crocuspool halted, mid-step, as Brindletalon spoke again. I could never hate you... She shivered, looking over her shoulder at him. His lips moved... And he said it. He actually said it. I love you... Crocuspool ran at him, sobbing, and pressed her nose against his, holding him close. She relished the feeling of his soft dappled pelt, now damp from her own tears.
