The crisp aumtumn day seemed pleasant. There was a slight breeze but the sun was hot. The moist air made it seem like rain would be coming but it was too sunny to rain at that moment. Not a cloud in the sky. Some leaves had begun to fall off the willow trees but not many. The ground wasn't yet littered with them yet so it was easy for Willowkit to retrace her steps of where she had walked not too long ago. She kept up a quick brisk pace, her senses aware of rogues or other cats in the area. She smelled only a very faint sign of Hyenapaw but she knew it was stale. The thought of Hyenapaw being hurt made her feel sick so she wished it away and suddenly the smell of catmint hit her like a kick in the guts. She smiled slightly, knowing that where the catmint was, was where the hemlock was. She moved faster, arriving at the small rock filled clearing and up to the tree where the hemlock grew. Willowkit padded up to the hemlock branches and waited for Runningcloud's instructions.

Zephyrs played pleasantly along the ginger-pelted tabby as she followed her apprentice. Her steps were hard and full of fury directed towards war. Runningcloud no longer considered herself to be a medicine cat right now; she considered herself to be a witch doctor, with the way she was dealing in poisons now.
"Excellent. Your senses have led you here," the large female said, curtly dipping her head. She twitched her tail to the hemlock and dropped a large mouthful of prey. She sat a mouse by her paw for a demonstration.
"First, take the piece of prey with your paw and unsheath your claw, slitting open a little opening. Then, when you have a little opening--not a big one, because the plant will fall out--grab a piece of hemlock with your claws. Be careful that you don't lick your body at any part of this exercise," Runningcloud explained, slitting open the mouse and grabbing the hemlock leaf carefully. "Now, turn to the rock or a tree and claw the leaf up. When you have that, scoop up the scraps into the prey and try to squash the hole together. If it's not closing well, that's fine." She gently kneaded the mouse together.
"When that's done, pick up the prey by the other end," she continued. Since the hole was by the head, she grabbed the mouse by the tail. She then dropped the mouse. "We'll half-bury it when we're done, but we'll take the majority of it back to SerenityClan. We'll grab catalpa leaves over there and drag it off later."
