Foxtail smiled back. Then, giving her paw one last lick, she sprang up. 'I bet I can catch a vole before you!' she mewed, then sprinted into the undergrowth. |

Foxtail flicked her tail in ignorance. She quickly scented a vole, but was over excited and pounced too soon, and it got away. 'Darn it!' |

Deathwish laughed and, scenting a vole, flung himself flat to the ground. He crept towards it.

Foxtail watched Deathwish, and smiled to herself. Before the tom had time to spring, she jumped at the catch, silent in the air. 'Gotcha!' she said in triumph. |

"Humph how dare you." Deathwish meowed, looking very serious. Then he rolled onto the ground like a kit and meowed with laughter.

Foxtail smiled. Then she put the vole on the sun-baked ground. 'Shall we hunt some more, or just head back to camp?' she asked, mouth open to let scents in better. |

Foxtail purred. She had felt this feeling before. She wasn't sure Deathwish would feel the same way so she pushed aside the feeling and walked towards camp with her friend. 'That's good. Happiness finds you somehow.' |

Foxtail purred. Without meaning to, she said, 'Thanks Deathwish. I love you.' when she heard her words, she whipped her tail round to her mouth, and backed off. |

Foxtail sighed. That was true enough. 'Yes.' she said softly. As she looked into the darkening sky, she saw a silvery outline in the shape of a cat she knew very well. As she watched, it took form, and visualised in front of her. 'Follow your heart, Foxtail. I will always love you, but you need to let me go.' the starry Thunderflash meowed in a melodic voice. Foxtail's eyes filled with tears, and she rushed up to the StarClan warrior. 'Thank you Thunderflash. I'll see you again someday.' she mewed through a cracked voice. 'Goodbye, sweet Foxtail.' Thunderflash said, and as he did, he faded, until Foxtail was staring at nothing. Then she turned to Deathwish. 'Sorry. You were right. But- but I need to move on.' she said, smiling at Deathwish, nuzzling him slightly. |
