The bushes secluding the SerenityClan camp gave a soft rustle as the breeze rushed through they're branches. The grass seemed to shiver. The sun was in the sky, but covered by thick grey cloud. It was not unusaul for such gloom in SerenityClan territory. There was no doubt that winter was fast approaching. A jay sat high in the branches of an ever wakeful pain, chirping a mournful song as it shivered inside its blue feathered coat. Most of its kind had left the forest already, but this solitary jay had stayed. The bushes gave a slighter louder rustle, though this was unheard inside the busy camp. A sturdy she-cat, her short, well groomed red brown fur catching on the branches. Pulling herself free, the warrior stepped into the SerenityClan camp, blinking her blue-green hued eyes. Cherrysmoke glanced around quickly, but her daughters were not visible. Pansypaw, Petalpaw and Daisypaw were either in the apprentices' den, or out training with their mentors. Trotting towards Jasminestar's den, Cherrysmoke drew her tongue over her coat s couple of times. Halting on the threshold of the den, Cherrysmoke glanced behind her to check whether Deathwish was coming. "Jasminestar, can we come in?" she called, lifting her long tail.

Deathwish pushed through the branches a few moments after Cherrysmoke, his wiry fur causing him to get slightly tangled up. He forced his way out, shook himself, then followed after Cherrysmoke. He glanced around, looking absently for Foxtail.

A gonger and white flash darted into the clearing, panting. Foxtail had just run through the forest with a mouse dangling from her mouth. It had been for no reason, her mad sprint, just for fun, to let off some pent-up energy. She put her mouse on the kill pile and gazed around for Deathwish. She spotted him and padded towards him, a small smile escaping onto her lips. 'Hi!' she said, nuzzling him fondly.

Deathwish purred deeply and buried his face in Foxtail's fur. After a few moments he drew back and tilted his head at her. "Why are you so out of breath?" He asked.

Foxtail laughed, getting her breath back now. 'I ran off all my extra energy.' she said, still smiling. Then she noticed where they were standing. 'Why are you outside Jasminestar's den?' she asked, nodding a greeting to Cherrysmoke.

Deathwish glanced at Cherrysmoke, then looked back at Foxtail. "We think there's a badger on our territory." He said simply.

Jasminestar lay in the back of her den, lounging. A cold wind blew outside, making everyone want to retreat farther into their sleeping places. Jasminestar did just that, after doing the morning patrol. Her tongue drew lazily over her tortoiseshell fur, as she purred softly to herself. As she was about to drift asleep, she heard someone call her name. She got up, and went outside. She saw Cherrysmoke and Deathwish waiting. What is it? [/blockquote]

Cherrysmoke turned as a soft voice sounded behind her, as well as Deathwish's more rough mew. The red brown queen quickly spun around again as she spotted the ginger and white pelt of Foxtail. Cherrysmoke smiled. The she-cat blinked as Jasminestar emerged from her den. The tortoiseshell looked alert, as usaul, but there was an air of sleepiness about her. "Sorry to disturb you," Cherrysmoke mewed, slapping Deathwish's legs with her long tail. She wanted the black tom to be at her side when she told Jasminestar about the badger, not with Foxtail; though she hated to split up the pair. "Deathwish and I have found signs of badger on SerenityClan territory," she mewed, her fur bristling all over again.

Deathwish turned back to Cherrysmoke, a confused look on his face. Then he saw Jasminestar and straightened up, trying to look normal. He dipped his head politely.

Brindletalon entered camp, his mouth full with 2 mice and a sparrow. He trotted swiftly over to the kill pile and dropped the prey, all except the mouse. He was starving, he hadnt eaten all day. He lay down, his brindle pelt now longer and thicker for the the winter and began hungrily eating the mouse in quick large bites. He surveryed the scene by Jasminestars den, the leader appeared to be talking to Cherrysmoke and Deathwish with Foxtail looking on. He soon finished his meal and sat up to groom himself, dark brown eyes still watching the warriors talk with Jasminestar.

The slender form of Crocuspool broke through the undergrowth into the camop. The tortoiseshell had a mouse and a vole in her mouth, which she dropped onto the fresh kill pile as she went past it. The pretty she-cat settled beside Brindletalon, tucking her small white paws beneath her chest. Her intelligent hazel eyes caught sight of Jasminestar, speaking with Deathwish and Cherrysmoke. Foxtail was also hanging around, her ears pricked. Crocuspool turned to Brindletalon, her whiskers twitching with interest. "Hey, do you know what's happening?" she asked her friend in hushed, soft tones. The tortoiseshell frowned, wondering what was so important. The rogues hadn't come back. had they? Crocuspool's long, white foreclaws sank into the earth at the thought. Would they ever accept defeat?

Brindletalon smiled as Crocuspool approached. He touched his nose to her cheek and gently licked her ear. He drew back quickly, scared that he had been too forward. He shrugged at her question and frowned towards the cats. "I dont know. Cherrysmoke and Deathwish came into camp and went straight to Jasminestar. Foxtail just went to see Deathwish, i guess" he said, still slightly worried about his maybe over-friendly greeting.

Crocuspool smiled as Brindletalon licked her cheek. She nuzzled his throat, purring. She did not care who saw. She could feel they're bond growing, and she didn't care. It felt good. The pretty tortoiseshell eventually broke away from the dappled tom, though her tail tip still brushed his lean flank. Crocuspool's hazel eyes dazzled with emotion, before they're guardedness returned. "Oh," she mewed, listening to what her friend said. "I see." The she-cat looked worried - she hoped the rogues had not returned. "If those foxdung-faces have come back, I'll..." she muttered, shaking her head from side to side.
