The [N]ightmare [.begins.]

Moonkit found himself in the forest. "Wait!" he mewed to himself. "What am I doing out here, away from the camp?" He dashed through the trees, scenting that of his own Clan. But what he found, he did not recognize at all.

Before him on a large, smooth stone sat a big bengal she-cat with dark blue eyes that shone with the brightness of star Clan.

"Who-who are you?" he stammered.

"My name is Chaostar." The she-cat's voice was calm and rhythmic. "I am the former Leader of SerenityClan. I bring a message from StarClan."

"StarClan?"

"You must go where the sun shines white hot
Where the land melts from the sun's heat
But where everything is bitterly cold.
Where water is never ending
and where prey are the predators
only then will the nightmare become
myth once again."

"Huh? What does that mean?!"

But the mysterious she-cat did not hear his question. She faded away into thin air, leaving young Moonkit all alone.

The young kit awoke from his sleep. "Choasstar!" he meowed, then realized it was a dream.

[SHADE. :D]

Cherrysmoke opened her blue-green hued eyes to peer at her son. He had been tossing and turning as he slept. She eyed the rest of her kits, all of whom seemed to be asleep, then nuzzled Moonkit. "What is it?" Her voice was a gentle murmur.

<sup>Petalkit had been dreaming. Her dream was of hunting for the first time. She had just pounced on the mouse when her brother's voice broke through her reverie. She awoke suddenly. She made an angry face and mumbled,

Why'd ya hafta wake me up? I had such a good dream...

Then she propmtly fell back asleep.</sup>

Moonkit felt ashamed. "I'm sorry," he mewed. "It was just a dream." He desperately tried to sleep, but he couldn't as he pondered the meaning of those words...
