It's Nothing But a [Faded Midnight]

_{As a form of his father, their eldest son, Midnightsky, padded across the hills, his silvery blue fur glimmering in the moonlight, a low wind howled across the hills. It was not a cold wind, it was a nice win. Midnightskt let out a quiet, appreciative, purr. He smiled and scented the air, happy when he could smell such prey-laden scents that he had not scented in moons. The tom crouched down, and in the time it would take for a cat to walk across the hill, up and down, he had caught three mice and a vole. Pleased with himself, Midnightskyl icked his lips and buried his prey. Then he sat on the hill, with his tail curled over his paws and watched the sun finish setting. How he wished his new friend, Fadedmemory would join him. He could scent her scent, but he figure it was from earlier. Oh well, he meowed, a little disappointed.}

Her small form slipped through the territory, a small bird clasped between her jaws. Her first catch that night. Clawing at the ground, she dropped the bird into the hole, glancing around as she covered it in dirt agian. Fadedmemory gave a sigh. She hated not being able to remember. To remember her past. To remember her parents, if she had siblings, who that cat was that reached out to her. She shook her head as the wind almost knocked her whole body over. She jumped up, opening her mouth and scenting the air. Midnightsky? I didn't think he'd be out here She thought as she headed in the direction her newly found friend was. "Greetings, Midnightsky" She mewed softly.

_{Midnightsky turned and smield as he noticed his friend. Hey! How are you? He asked her. Want to patrol with me? Suddenly feeling as if he needed her with him, he had offered a patrol. The tom wanted to learn about her past. Whaddya say? I really want to know about your past, since you pretty much know mine. He grinned at her. His toothy grin showed, and he hoped she would say yes.}

Fadedmemory smiled, nodding, then stopped suddenly. Her past? What would she say? Wasn't Midnightsky her age when her memory was lost? Shaking off her thoughts she padded forwards, glancing back to the tom. Her fluffly tail twitched slightly. "I'd love to. I'm not expected back at camp till sunrise, might as well walk with someone while there's moonlight." She mewed with a smile.

_{I'm sorry if my question made you uncomfortable. My social skills... Well.. They suck. But sweet. We can patrol together. He smiled nervously at her. He started walking at a good pace and continued chatting. Oh right! Midnightsky smacked himself on the head with his front paw. I forgot you forgot your past... He meowed sympathetically. Do you want me to help you remember? He asked. He felt horrible he had come up on this subject so bluntly.}

Fadedmemort gave a small shake of her head, a small smile pressed across her face. The ragdoll's tail flipped behind her as she turned her head towards the tom. A slight flicker inside her mind went off. "Midnightpaw! That's how I remember who you are. You were there......" She mewd, trailing off and trying to remember where they were and what had happened. She shook her head, turning her pale eyes towards the silver tom. "It's fine. Slowly, very slowly, the memories are coming back to me. Just tell me, Midnightsky, what was my name as an apprentice?" She asked, cocking her head to the side.

[FIREH!!]

_{Midnightsky looked at her and answered without hesitation. Your name was Silverpaw. He told her. I remember you and I were distant. Then when you recieved your name, Fadedmemory, we became closer friends. He smiled at her happily. If you need to know anything else, just ask. He told her, grinning reasurringly. A stir in the bushes awoke him from his haze of memories, and he returned with a rabbit. Care to share? He offered, pushing the rabbit toward her.}

Fadedmemory nodded, glancing away from the tom. Her eyes suddenly seemed distant, like she was trying to remember something, but couldn't get it. Giving a sigh, she jumped as Midnightsky spoke to her, shaking her head. "I've already eaten, but thank you for offering. I'll possible grab something later" She mewed with a smile as she sat down, waiting for him to finish.

_{Midnightsky nodded and ate the rabbit. When he had finished, he licked his chomps and smiled. Whatcha thinking about? He asked her. He could tell she was racking her brain for something, but she couldn't get ahold of it. He padded to her side and looked up to the sky. Starclan looks so far away... Do you think we'll win the battle against the Tribe? He asked her, unusually serious.}
