Lycan silently slunk through the territory, the scents of prey making her mouth water. The heavy overcast above cast a gloomy shade upon the world around her. Somehow, this made her feel all the more welcome, more alive. Taking a deep breath, the she-rogue plunged deeper into the vegitation, the drizzle darkening her deep brown pelt into a chillingly dark brown, almost black, color. "So alive..." She trailed off, drunk off her own bloodlust. She needed to hurt something and prey wasn't exactly doing much to satisfy this urge. So far she'd attacked several small animals and left them in a rather painful dying state. She tore onward, desperate for another cat to show up. She needed it.

"What a raggedy state," came a rich, stern voice. Lime-green eyes gleamed atop their watchful belfry as a lithe she-cat leapt down from a nearby rock. She turned her head, smelling the anguished prey. "It's obvious you're a rogue. No StarClan-loving cat would ever do this to prey. It's against the Warrior Code," Deliriumstep growled. Her gray-black fur bristled and her tail lashed side to side dangerously. "Who are you, rogue?" The patrolling warrior couldn't believe this was happening. The nerve of some cats! Just traipsing around territories like they owned the place.

He was so proud, So proud. He was out alone for the first time. Indigopaw strutted long, broad little paws hitting the frosty grass. The blue-grey apprentice glanced at every tree and bush he passed, awe in his dark blue eyes. The little tom felt apphrension claw at his insides; he hadn't exactly asked Cloakedclaw if he could go out alone. But he was seven moons old. He could take care of himself. Right?
The young tom pranced on, oblivious to any danger he was in. Indigopaw stopped, drawing in a short, sharp gasp. A magpie perched on a low branch, ruffling its starkly coloured plumage. The blue-grey apprentice watched it for a moment longer, before gathering himself up. Indigopaw ran, throwing himself into the air in a collosal leap. The bird gave a caw and took flight, wings whipping Indigopaw's muzzle and eyes. The tom landed on all four paws, shaking his buzzing head. He quickly recovered and scampered on, joyful as a tiny kit in newly fallen leaves.

Soundless paws followed the excited apprentice as he scampered through the woods. Determined not to be seen, Cloakedclaw disguised himself well in the bushes. He followed his apprentice and when he thought it was right, emerged. So you left without my permission, eh? He asked him, sitting in front of Indigopaw.

Lycan grinned. Wonderful timing. "Congradulations! You pointed out the obvious, such a smart little clan-kitty!" She sang, prancing around the warrior. "My name is Lycan, I come from a distant territory and my brothers and I found my way into the clans of this region. After a run-in with some nasty other clan, I decided I'd see if any of the others were up-to-snuff, but now I don't know...You're nowhere near as bright as them." She trailed off, flicking her tail dully as she narrowed her blue-gray eyes, fangs bared in a lovely grin that showed only a mere hint of the trouble she intended to cause. "Are you all this stupid or just you? I can tell by the way you look and your whole 'high and mighty' appearence. You're gonna die, kitty." She snickered devilishly.

Mouse-dung! Indigopaw crouched, ears flat, as Deliriumstep's voice sounded nearby. He frowned; she didn't seem to have noticed him. Yes! That meant no punishment! Indigopaw could not help giving a little dancing skip of triumpth. But Deliriumstep's words suddenly dawned on him, and he gave a little mewl of fear, running out to stand at her side. He wanted to help her drive this rogue away! The blue-grey tom gave a heavy sigh as he heard Cloakedclaw's voice. "But Cloakedclaw," he mewed, forgetting to dip his head respectfully. "I smelt rogue and went to see." The lie passed easily over his tongue and out between his lips. Indigopaw turned, bristling, to face Lycan. "You'll have to get through me first," he mewed, puffing out his chest and stepping forward. His words were brave; but exceedingly foolish.

Lycan stifled a laugh, dropping down into a defensive posistion. "Wonderful," She purred sweetly. "Another little kitty to play with." Her devilish grin vanished off her face as she glared at the opposing others, another warrior with the yonger cat. She was outnumbered. This wasn't exactly what she was prepared for, but Eros could take down three at a time and he's a bumbling idiot, so she'd be okay...right? The logic worked in her mind, she only hoped she thought right. Giving a thunderous snarl, she leaped at Indigopaw, figuring it'd be wise to attack the youngest first and fast before tormenting the others.

The young blue-grey stuck his chin in the air defiantly, holding his ground. But as Lycan bristled, claws unsheathing, he shrank into himself with a mewl of terror. Indigopaw shut his eyes with a kit-like squeal, ears flat. He hadn't had time to learn any fighting moves with Cloakedclaw; his mentor had been too busy with everything else going on. Indigopaw yowled as he felt Lycan's paws first touch him, but he was too petrified to run, his muscles frozen by fear.

Lycan burst into laughter, sensing the apprentice cringe as she leaped. Swiftly, she swung a paw at his face, prepared to feel his flesh against her claws. It was as though a whole other cat had taken over, no longer did she think, she merely acted with violence. A fierce, primitive, animalistic caterwaul rang out from her throat, grating against her own eardrums and reverberating off every surface as she clawed, intending to cause scarring at the very least. Barleypaw burst out of nowhere. She bolted head-on towards the attacker. She let out a battle cry, "Leave. Him. Alone!" The older apprentice head-butt Lycan, tackling her. She jumped off and stood protectively in front of Indigopaw. Barleypaw craned her neck to look at the other apprentice and smiled. "Come on, Indigo, it's okay." Then Barleypaw turned her head back around and hissed, "Come and get it, rogue."

A yowl sounded from the throat of Cloakedclaw as the rogue leaped at his brother. He leaped into the air and sliced at the rogue. He barely noticed the apprentice leaping with him. Foxdung! Your mine.. He hissed menacingly. Claws sliced where he could, feeling fur touch the skin under his claws.

Lycan squawked in pain before retaliating. Plan B: Beat the crap out of whoever you can, kill only if necissary. Giving a howl of rage, the she-cat leaped at Barleypaw, slicing at her face to cause a distraction before ripping at Cloakedclaw. He'd cut her beautiful form, he put her own blood on her glamorous coat. "Die!" She hissed, snapping at his throat and swinging madly at his face, eyes and chest.

Barleypaw got away from the evil rogue with a scratch down her face. She hissed in pain, then jumped onto Lycan, her scarlet blood splattering on the other she-cat's face. Her cheeks was oozing badly. But she wasn't losing too much blood. Barleypaw hooked onto Lycan's back, clawing and biting.

There was little Lycan could do other than thrash around some more. At this rate, she wouldn't get very far in this battle. At the most, these cats could damage her ego. After all, these were clan-cats she was dealing with. Feebly attempting to throw Barleypaw off her back, the she-rogue continued to snap at Cloakedclaw. She had to take him out first, he seemed like he was the strongest and she had to leave a real mark on him to score some real fear from these cats.

Indigopaw shut his eyes a split-second before Lycan's claws connected. The blue-grey tom gave a high-pitched yowl of pain, a score-mark cutting across his face. He stumbled bacck, blinking as blood dripped into his eyes. The young blue-grey tom heard the arrival of another cat, but his ears were roaring and he couldn't hear their voice properly to tell who it was. After a few tense, trembling moments, Indigopaw's sight cleared and he shook himself, thin sides heaving. He gave a terrified mewl as he spotted Barleypaw and Cloakedclaw attacking the rogue. He watched, eyes wide, as Lycan lunged for Cloakedclaw. Indigopaw darted forward, trying to slash the she-cat's sides, while attempting to dodge her flying claws.

Teeth connected in a throat, and light began to die from his eyes. No! He screamed high pitched. A light shone, and he was engulfed in it.
What's going on? He called into the light. A form arrived, and showed itself. It was Dragonwhistler. Dragonwhistler! He cried, purring ferociously as his old family friend arrived. Am I - dead? He asked, the words struggling from his throat. A tail touched his shoulder and he looked up. Dragonwhistler was smiling at him.
No. You aren't dead. He meowed. At his touch, he began to fade, and his last words were fading aswell, Now. show that rogue what you're made of.
Eyes snapped open, and he lifted his head. He pried it from her jaws, and strength filling his limbs, he threw himself at her, his claws hitting almost perfectly. You get off our land, He snarled in her ear, You hear? Because you'll never make us fear you, and you'll never win. Dragonwhistler's words rang in his ears as he snarled the words. So run, you kittypet. He clawed some more, ignoring the claws that racked his body from her. He couldn't feel any pain, and was grateful for it.
He had too much to live for. His family, his family with Ribbontail. Oh Ribbontail. When he returned he must go speak with her. Cloakedclaw smiled. He clawed her more, happiness, anger, and determination giving him strength.
ooc;; Where am I getting all this muse?!?!?

[ BARLEYPAW ]
Barleypaw snarled, clinging on at Lycan's failed attempts of throwing her off. She smiled as Indigopaw showed bravery, and jumped off as Cloakedclaw came plowing into the scene. She landed next to Indigopaw and nuzzling him lightly, "It's okay, Indigo, Cloakedclaw's got this one. If he needs help, then we'll help."[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Kittypet?!? Did you just call ME a kittypet??" She howled, ignoring the blood that was leaking from the many wounds upon her body. "Have you know idea who you are talking to?! I am LYCAN, daughter of one of the most feared cats in the territory east of here by the oceanside. DEATH comes to those who who dare insult me, and you, foolish clan-kitty, are about to meat yours." she snarled, sinking her fangs into his shoulder. The pain was inexcusable, but she had to show that damn warrior who the Hell he was dealing with

Rage still flowed from his claws. You think I'm afraid of words?!?!? He snarled, laughing. He broke from her, circling her body. His shoulder was screaming in pain, but he twitched it to say stop. Then, when he circled her enough, he leaped. I'm Cloakedclaw, fierce warrior of Cloudclan. I have family to protect. That's why I'm killing you. But what do you have? Nothing. He snarled, still clawing as he flew towards her.

Lycan managed to duck out of the way. "It's not my words you ought to fear, it's the fact that I can easily live up to them." she purred, a venomous grin upon her face. "But right now I ought to take off, got to go make sure my little brothers are okay. I'm sure we'll meet again, perhaps over the dead bodies of your kin." She grinned, leaping out of the way, a cruel laugh emmitting from her as she fled to the shadows, blood dripping on the foliage as she passed.
OoC|| I apologzie for having this cut short, but I can't do much more. Lycan's outnumbered right now, her brothers can't really come to the rescue...

Blood dripped from several wounds on his body, and he yowled at her. Don't come back, Foxdung! He turned to the apprentices and and asked them, Are you okay? He noticed his shoulder was swollen, and he twitched his fur. Then he shook his head, and blood dripped from the teeth marks on his neck. He motioned for them to follow him as he began to tread home.

Indigopaw jumped back as Cloakedclaw came forward in a whirlwind of claws and teeth. The blue-grey tom gave a small whimper, and flattened himself to the grass beside Barleypaw. He glanced up at the creamy-brown she-cat; she didn't look scared at all. He envied her fiercely, and admired her, too. The small tom blinked his sapphire eyes in fear as the fight between Lycan and his brother esculated. Indigopaw's claws slid out, sinking into the mud. He twitched his tail, praying it would all be over. He wanted to shut his eyes to block out the sight of the fighting cats, but they were pinned open by fright.
Indigopaw watched, tense, as Lycan backed off, blood streaking her pelt. His eyes widened with terror at her words, and his tail dropped. He drew his paws closer to his chest, and for once wished he was still a kit, safe in the nursery with his mother and sisters. Indigopaw gave a tiny nod at Cloakedclaw's question, though his vision was still fuzzy and the slash over his eyes was painful. The small tom got to his paws and padded quickly after the ginger tabby, fear pricking at his paws.
I'm sure we'll meet again, perhaps over the dead bodies of your kin...

Cloakedclaw must have seen the terror in Indigopaw's eyes, because he slowed down to match paces with his apprentice. You fought well. He meowed, praising him. I want both of you to go see Dragonflydance when we return. Those scratches look nasty. Though the bites on his neck were deep, they had already begun to heal, strengthened by Dragonwhistler.

Barleypaw smiled and nodded, "Yes, Cloakedclaw."
Then she turned to Indigopaw and nuzzled him, "Indigopaw, it's okay, that mean old rogue ran away 'cause she couldn't handle your brother. Don't worry, next time she comes, we'll be ready." She purred and helped the younger apprentice, inspecting his wounds, and licking a few of them clean of blood, "Do any of them sting?" she asked. She had spent much time in the medicine cat's den these days, watching Dragonflydance help other cats.

Indigopaw hunched his shoulders. He felt no pride for what he had done; in fact, he had contributed very little to the fight. The blue-grey apprentice felt comforted as Barleypaw drew her tongue carefully over the wound on his face. Her soft fur and warm scent reminded him of his mother; Icelily. "Not really," he mumbled in response. He was determined not to admit his pain, not when Barleypaw was being so brave about her own. He couldn't help admiring her. She was the nearest thing he had to a friend. Stripedpaw spend more time with the she-apprentices now, and Hailpaw was always busy training or running errands. Indigopaw gave his mentor a tiny nod, before beginning to follow him, tail down and ears warily pricked.

Barleypaw nodded and smiled, "If you say so." She waslked beside him, keeping pace with the tom. Her beige pelt brushed against his gently as she moved quietly.
"How have your mother and father been doing?" she asked him, starting up a conversation.

Indigopaw hunched his shoulders. This subject made him uncomfortable. He had disliked talking about his mother and father ever since they had become elders. It was almost as though he were ashamed of them; but this was so horrible that he rejected it and blamed his feelings on other things. Indigopaw looked at his softly plodding paws, and sighed. Icelily and Skytomb had done many great things in their lifetimes, so he did not know where his feelings were coming from. "They're okay," he mewed, nodding his head slightly.

Barleypaw purred and licked Indigopaw's ears. "That's good, they've been wanting to become elders her a long time. Warrior duties were becoming too much for them."
She smiled and looked ahead. I wonder what it would be like if I had known my parents.
