Skyflight bounded into the warriors den. She skidded to a halt and called "Anyone up for hunting?"

Eaglefeather woke froma deep slumber, his fur dry and fluffed up now. 'I will, to stretch my legs a little.' he mewed, getting up and yawning widely. |

Skyflight glanced over at Eaglefeather and couldnt help feeling pleased that it was him that was coming. "Come on then!" she called and raced back out into the open.

Eaglefeather raced after her, and overtook her as then ran into the undergrowth. 'So, you feeling better now?' asked Eaglefeather, glancing back in her direction. |

Skyflight smiled. " Yeah thats old news" . She was going to say she was only happy because she was with him but she knew that she couldnt.....yet.

Eaglefeather mistook the comment. 'Oh, sorry, I was only asking.' he sighed, stretching his limbs. He scented a mouse, but it was stale. |

Skyflight said quickly " No i wasnt meaning it that way! . As a chance to get away she ran up the hill a bit. She scented rabbit. She prowled along the ground then leapt and killed it with a single blow. She buried it then looked up to see where Eaglefeather was.

'Oh, okay. Good catch.' he mewed when she came back. 'My legs are so stiff!' he shook each leg in turn, then leapt into some bushes when he smelled a squirrel. He quickly made the kill and dragged it over to where Skyflight had buried her rabbit. He buried it there and followed the she-cat. |

Skyflight gulped. She felt a rush of warmth towards Eaglefeather. She knew know was the time to tell him. Eaglefeather....what would you say if....if i said....that i thought i loved you? she asked hurridly and looked down at her paws.

Eaglefeather was so taken aback that he almost tripped. He righted himself and stared at her. 'Uh... I would probably ask whether you were feeling alright!' he said, trying to turn it into a joke. So far only Halopaw knew about him and Midnight, and that was how he wanted it to stay. |

Skylights insides turned to stone. her heart dropped so far that she thought it had fallen out of her feet. She looked at Eaglefeather with eyes full of tears. Did he really mean that he didnt feel the same?

Skyflight nodded slowly. She blinked back the tears before looking at Eaglefeather again. She couldnt bring herself to speak so she just blinked at him.

Skyflight looked at Eaglefeather. Then she nodded. " Like i said you can tell me anything" At the second part she smiled but said nothing.

'I mean, I'm really flattered that you feel that way, and in different circumstances, we could have... got together, y'know? But, I'm really sorry. I-I don't want to hurt you.' Eaglefeather looked at her with shaded eyes, confusion sweeping through him. The true scale of the wrong he was doing, the hurt, everything, hit him so hard right there, that he almost fell over. He sat down and shook his head. |

Skyflight sighed. She left Eaglefeather to think and returned shortly with 2 mice and a starling. " Lets go home" she whispered. She unburied the other prey and left it for Eaglefeather to pick up.

'That was stupid of me to say. Of course I hurt you. Oh Skyflight...' he mumbled, picking up the squirrel and rabbit. He shuffled his paws and headed in the camp's direction, dail drooping. How had this happened? He thought. He always managed to hurt other cats, and it was depressing. |

Skyflight led the way back. She only stopped at a clump of poppies. "Shall we take some?" she asked and not waiting for an answer she picked some and carried on.
