~Skyflight~
Skyflight trotted into the clearing. She found a sunny patch and sat down, looking up at Stormstar. She blinked lovingly at him and then looked around for Tawnykit. Oh, she was so excited! Her first apprentice! And she was the leaders mate! Could this day get any better? She smiled to herself and then sat watching and waiting for the other cats to appear.
~Dewkit~
Dewkit trotted out of the nursery, her well groomed fur gleaming. She turned to wait for her mother and Tawnykit. "C'mon slowpokes!" she meowed excitedly, skipping around in circles. This was it! She was finally going to be an apprentice! She sat down in a spot to the left of Skyflight and sat staring up at her leader. She wondered who she would get for her mentor.

Midnightsky padded out of the warriors' den and sat.

Icelily ran out and sat beside her son.

Cloakedclaw followed his mother and sat down beside her.

Lemonzest padded from the nursery, her yellow eyes bright with pride. Her kits were finally becoming apprentices! The dark tabby queen suddenly wondered who would mentor her daughters, and hoped it was someone she knew well. Lemonzest walked over to Skyflight and sat beside the blue-grey warrior. Lemonzest tucked her tail neatly around her small hite paws, turning to Skyflight. "You look happy," she commented, not unkindly. Tawnykit trotted happily after her mother, her brown and white pelt carefully groomed so that it gleamed in the sunshine. Tawnykit sat beside her sister, eyes shining with excitement.

Indigokit appeared at the entrance to the nursery, where he sat, tail tip twitching. His blue eyes were wide with awe and jealousy. He longed to be where Tawnykit and Dewkit sat now. The blue-grey kit sighed. Soon, he told himself, soon. Just a few more moons. For now he had to be happy for his friends. The kit turned his gaze up to Stormstar. He had always admired the mighty tom, and it was no exception now. He was so powerful and wise; Indigokit longed to be like him when he was older.

Sunjinx padded out of the warriors' den with Skytomb at her side. The two warriors were talking. Skytomb noticed his son sitting near the nursery and blinked in greeting. Sunjinx settled down a couple of tail lengths away from Skyflight, her green eyes filled with happiness. Ribbontail's kits had been born! She intended to visit them as soon as this ceremony was over. Skytomb sat beside the ginger and white she-cat, his muscular shoulders twitching. He was happy for Tawnykit and Dewkit; they deserved this.

Haloheart trotted into the camp, her light ginger fur dam. A vole dangled from her jaws. The young warrior placed her catch on the fresh kill pile and shook her wet fur. Her blue eyes lit up when she spotted Tawnykit and Dewkit sitting side by side in the crowd of cats. It looked like CloudClan was getting some new apprentices. Haloheart padded over to Skytomb and sat by his side, touching noses gently with her father.

Eaglefeather padded from a shadowy corner of camp, dark brown tabby coat gleaming in the sun. He sat with the rest of his Clan and looked up to his leader.

<sup>Midnightlove searched for Eaglefeather. She quickly spotted him and sat beside him, twining her tail with his. "I'm really happy for you," she mewed. "You finally are getting your first apprentice!"

Stormstar continued. "We have two kits whose apprenticeship has been delayed far too long, please forgive me. These kits are Tawnykit and Dewkit.

"Dewkit, from this moment on, until you have recieved your warrior name, you shall be known as Dewpaw. Your mentor shall be Eaglefeather. Eaglefeather, you have waited long and patiently for your first apprentice. You are and honourable warrior, and I hope you pass on your skills to this apprentice.

"Tawnykit, from this moment on, until you have recieved your warrior name, you shall be known as Tawnypaw. Your mentor shall be Skyflight. Skyflight, you too have waited for much time to receive your first apprentice. You are an honourable warrior, and I hope you pass on your skills to Tawnypaw."

He gave a quick glance and a smile at his mate. Then looked back over the cats performing the ceremonial gestures.</sup>

~Skyflight~
Skyflight smiled at Lemonzest. She opened her mouth to speak when Stormstar begun the ceremony so she closed it and waited, both excited and nervous. She smiled at Eaglefeather as she heard that he was going to be Dewpaws mentor and then padded forward towards Tawnypaw. She bent to touch noses with the brown and white kitten. "I'll try my best for you." she said in Tawnypaws ear as she was bent down.
~Dewpaw~
Dewpaw squeaked happily when she heard it was Eaglefeather that was to be her mentor. She had always thought that he was pretty cool. She stumbled anxiously forward and stood on her tiptoes to touch noses with her mentors. "Wow" was all she managed to gasp in this moment of happiness. She cast a sideways glance at Tawnypaw and saw her doing what she was doing, only with Skyflight instead. She flicked her eyes to Eaglefeather again. This was going to be so much fun!

Eaglefeather padded calmly forward to the little kit, but was buzzing with excitement. His first apprentice! He touched noses with Dewpaw and then stepped back, smiling at the kit.

Tawnypaw sprang to her paws at Stormstar's words, kneading the ground in anticipation. The kitten trotted over to Skyflight, her body language calm but her green eyes burning with excitement. Tawnypaw stretched upwards, touching noses carefully ith the blue-grey she-cat. Tawnypaw's eyes widened. She glanced at Dewpaw, smiling happily at the dark grey and white kit. She was an apprentice! Tawnypaw blinked breifly in happiness, then scampered over to Dewpaw and sat beside her again.

Lemonzest purred loudly, her eyes shut with pleasure. Her kits were apprentices. The dark tabby smiled at Stormstar's choice of mentors; he knew her too well. Lemonzest smirked. If any cat I didn't trust had been chosen, I wouldn't have accepted it, she thought to hrself. Lemonzest looked at Tawnypaw and Dewpaw, their fur gleaming and yes bright. They seemed older, stronger, smarter, already.

Skyflight trotted after Tawnykit and sat down beside Eaglefeather. She adressed all the cats. "If you wanted we could all go out together for me and Eaglefeather to show you two the territory." she meowed, looking at Eagelfeather hopefully as she knew that the sisters would want to go together. She began grooming herself as she waited for an answer, drawing one paw over her ears.
~Dewpaw~
Dewpaw nuzzled her sister a she came and sat down beside her. She listened intently to Skyflight and then turned pleading eyes on Eaglefeather. "I really hope that we do get to go together." she whispered in Tawnypaws ear, glancing over at her mother and smiled. Lemonzest looked happy so Dewpaw was too. She turned her gaze back to Eaglefeather and shuffled closer to Tawnypaw.

Eaglefeather chuckled. 'Sure, it would be a good way to get to know the territory, together.' he said, twitching his whiskers.

Skyflight smiled and nodded. "When should we go?" she asked Eaglefeather, leaving it up to him to decide. After all, he was the more experienced warrior.

Dewpaw purred happily and nudged Tawnypaw. "Our first time out as apprentices together!" she whispered and then turned to Eaglefeather. "Lets go now!" she said, eyes open and excited and her tail flicking impatiently. Why wait when they could go now?

Eaglefeather looked up at the sky. The sun was blazing, high above them. 'I think we'd have time to go now, if you wanted.' he said, addressing them all.

<sup>Midnightlove purred for her mate. She was proud of him, almost as if she were his mother. She padded to the camp entrance and called over her shoulder, "I'm going for a hunt, I'll see you later!" She trotted away into the gaping mouth of the trees.

Stormstar padded up beside Skyflight and rasped his tongue quickly over her cheek. Then after flashing a quick loving smile to her he padded away into his den.

Skyflight purred as Stormstar licked her cheek. She flicked him lovingly on the shoulder with her tail as he walked away, smiling back at him. She then turned back to the apprentices. "Well, what do you two want to do? I'm quite happy to go now if you want to." she meowed, rolling her shoulders as they felt a bit stiff. She flashed a quick glance after Stormstar, hoping they wouldnt be too long so that she could go and see her mate.

Dewpaw watched as Stormstar came up and licked Skyflights cheek. She didnt say anything, not wanting to be rude on her first day as an apprentice, but she hadnt seen the pair together nealry ever and now they were mates? She shook her head in confusion. At Skyflights words her eyes lit up. "Yeah! Lets go now. I mean, what do you think Tawnypaw?" Dewpaw asked her sister excitedly. She was desperate to get out of camp, she had never done that before. Her paws trembled as she thought of all of the territory they would explore and she would get to learn the scents of the forest and the other Clans. She looked at Tawnypaw pleadingly. She had to say yes.

Eaglefeather raised one eyebrow at Stormstar and Skyflight, but stayed silent. Then he looked at Tawnypaw, waiting for an answer.

[SHADE. :D]

Tawnypaw nodded eagerly. "Sure, let's go now!" The brown and white apprentice kneaded the ground in anticipation. She was an apprentice now. Tawnypaw looked up at the sk, wondering if her father was watching over her now. She had barely known Cormorantstar, but she loved him nonetheless, and hoped she was proud of him.

Skyflight nodded and smiled at the other cats. "Right then lets go!" she mrrowed and stood up. She flicked her tail at the others, beckoning them to folow and began to pad towards the camp entrance. She could feel the excitement bubble in her tummy. Her first time out as a mentor!
~Dewpaw~
Dewpaw nodded and stood up. She stretched and then toof a few steps forward. She turned to look at Tawnypaw and waited for her sister. She could feel her eyes dancing with excitement. She was so happy, her first time as an apprentice and she was getting to share it with her sister. What could possibly be better?

Tawnypaw got to her paws, flicking her long, feathery tail happily. She padded along after Skyflight, to Dewpaw's left. She was careful not to stray too far behind her mentor, though there were so many new sights and scents that it was hard not too. She stopped and batted a paw at a large butterfly as it glided lazily past her nose, then hastily scampered after Skyflight again.
