[SHADE. :D]

Sunjinx lay in the CloudClan camp, the weak leafbare sun shimmering on her white and ginger splotched pelt. Her green eyes looked distincly troubled. The queen had made sure that her one remaining kit, Ribbonkit, was sleeping, safe and sound in the nursery. She missed her other three kits desperately. Why had Greencough had to claim them all? Feeling sorrowful, she shut her eyes to trap the tears then swallowed, missing Silver more than ever. Where was her mate...? He had been gone since mid-greenleaf, and she missed him with all of her heart. She had almost nobody else. He did not even know that her kits had beem born, let alone that three had perished. At first she had been angry at her mate for disappearing when she had been in such a critical condition, but now she felt only the tug at her heart that said I miss you.

_{Silver; Poor old Silver, the tom himself had been in more trouble of the past moons than he would of liked and worst of all, his heart was aching. He hadn't seen his mate in ages, never felt the soft caress of her fur or sweet smell of her scent; nothing. A new scar had adorned his fairly rugged and handsome features; a great ugly scar has found its way over his shoulder, making an 'x' shape. It had been given to him by a nasty rouge that went by the name of Curse. The sleek Egyptian Mau moved on, his muscles rippling his fur with each tense they gave. He knew he was welcome in CloudClan, he always had been, and the old Leader Dawnstar had always let him in. As he remembered her felt a stab of pain at his heart, Dawnstar was dead so he had heard. He shook his head softly and made his way into the main clearing, ears swiveling as he looked around. At once he felt something prod him in the side. He blinked a little and turned his head, just to meet eyes with a pretty tom. The young fellow was a mixture of rich cream and butterscotch brown, quite a pleasant sight to the eyes. He tipped his head to one side and gave the tom a questioning look. "Who are you?" Butterscotch asked warmly, a nice smile on his face. Silver let out a chuckle and flicked his tail, "I'm Silver; don't worry, I'm allowed in here, I'm not trespassing" he meowed warmly. Butterscotch nodded his head, "Alright then" he chirped before walking away, his silky body just brushing past Sunjinx's.}

[SHADE. :D]

Sunjinx watched Butterscotch idly. She nearly fell into a slumber, her eyes fixed on his pelt, the golden brown washing over her vision. Then she heard an achingly familiar voice. She opened her bright green eyes and pricked up her ears, resting her chin higher on her paws so that she could see the newcomer. Her heart leapt when she spotted the shining silver bengal pelt, but just to be sure, she opened her maw and caught the loner's scent. Silver's warm, familiar scent washed over her tongue and she forced her tired body to her paws and rushed over to him, tripping and landing on a heap on top of her mate. She licked his face, ginger and white fur bristling with happiness.
Ribbonkit patted softly from the nursery, her silver bengal coat, identical to her father's prickling. It looked like that cat was attacking her mother! Who was he? She knew most of the warriors around here. Feeling afraid, she wished Snowykit were here; she missed her dead twin. She approached the pair of cats cautiously, and prodded her mother;s soft flank warily. "Mama, who is he?" she mewed accusingly, her icy blue eyes fixed on Silver, full of fear and wariness.

_{'Oof' was the only thing that came from his mouth when something landed on top of him. His eyes opened wide in alarm before he suddenly caught her scent, it was all around him; Sunjix. He let out a soft cry of happiness and wrapped himself around her, strong muscular body brushing up against hers. He licked her ears, her face her nose, just overwhelmed to be with his mate. He flinched a little as he brushed against his shoulder however, the wound still stung. He turned his head to look at the kit, eyes fixed on a pelt exactly like his. He froze up, he had missed the birth of his kittens… he had missed it! Tears fogged up his vision and he turned to Sunjinx, "Sunny.. oh Sunjinx, I'm so sorry" he moaned gently burying his head in her side.}

[SHADE. :D]

Sunjinx looked at Silver, and her anger evaporated. "It's OK."
Ribbonkit looked left out. "Who's he?" she demanded, now sounding tearful.
Sunjinx licked her kit between the ears, but the bengal flinched away from her. Sunjinx sighed. It wasn't Ribbonkit's fault she sensitive; it was because she unexpectedly become an only kit. "This is your..." she began. She halted with a sigh. "This is Silver." She gave her mate a look that said if you want her to know the truth, you tell her.

<sub>Silver pushed his tears away with one paw and looked up to see a second cat approaching. His eyes narrowed for a second as he was half overwhelmed by her beauty. He pushed the thought away, Sunjinx was more beautiful in his eyes anyways. He nodded to her and looked down at Ribbonkit. "I'm your, your Father little one" he murmured softly, attention on the other kits eyes. Butterflypaw sat down with Ribbon kit and peered at the loner with mild interest.

ooc; Butterflypaw and Ribbonkit friends?</sub>

Ooc; Sure.
Bic; Ribbonkit looked perplexed. "No your not," she mewed, turning her back at him. "My daddy disappeared."
Sunjinx looked at her mate. "I'm sorry." she mewed. "The others... There were four... The others... died." Tears began to flow and she gave a great shuddering breath. Ribbonkit twisted around to look at her mother. She often cried like this. The bengal kit ran up to her and licked her flank. "It's your fault!" she hissed at Silver.

_{It's your fault
The words rang in his head, over and over, it was his fault, he did it, he caused their deaths. He staggered back and let out a cry of pain before collapsing, he felt like his heart had been ripped out of his chest and cut up. His breathing picked up and he buried his head in the dirt, he let out a second low moan of agony as the pain hit him four times over. His kittens, his beautiful kittens. Dead. Buttflypaw tipped her head and then looked at Sunjinx. Shaking his head she stalked over to the silver tabby and licked his shoulder comfortingly.}

[SHADE. :D]

"What are you doing?" hissed Ribbonkit at Butterflypaw. She narrowed her eyes. "It's his fault mamma is crying!" She looked annoyed. "Why is he crying? He didn't even know them!" The bengal suddenly felt cold and alone. She was the only one left. Sniffing, she curled up in a little ball and began to weep.
Sunjinx got to her paws, ignoring her sobbing kit and ran over to her mate. "Ignore her," she mewed, licking Silver's nose.

_{Butterflypaw let out a mew of distress and curled herself round Ribbonkit. "Hushh now" she purred and licked the kits ears, he licked off the tears and stroked her head with her tail. Softly murmuring an old Clan song into the ear of a kitten as she tried to calm her. Silver shook his head, tears still staining his cheeks. "Its my fault Sunjinx, Its my fault!" he wailed softly, burying his head in her warm fur.}

[SHADE. :D]

Ribbonkit stopped sobbing after a moment and huddled against Butterflypaw. She was her only friend left now... She leant against the apprentice's soft fur, letting her song wash over her...
Sunjinx shook her head firmly. "No, no it's not," she mewed comfortingly. "Stop blaming yourself. It was greencough that did it. Not you."

_{Butterflypaw purred gently adn licked the kit between the ears, this in a motherly way. "Its alright" she soothed and smiled at her. Silver shook his head and sighed, "I should of been there, what sort of Father am I, my kit hates me and my other kits are gone" he sobbed gently, eyes glassy with tears.}

[SHADE. :D]

Ribbonkit looked up at her friend and sighed. She knew she should not really have yelled at the loner tom, but how dare he suggest he was her father? She didn't want a father; it was his fault her brothers and sisters were dead, because he hadn't been here.
"Ribbonkit doesn't hate ou," Sunjinx realised that this was the first time she had told her mate his only remaining kit's name. "She's just upset."

_{Butterflypaw looked back at the young kitten. "He is your daddy you know, look at his pelt, its just like yours" she murmured licking the kits nose. "Don't be mad at him" she continued, flicking her tail side to side. She caught Butterscotch's worried eye from the Warriors den and shook her head at him before looking at Ribbonkit again. Silver sniffed and looked away. "Mmhn" was all he managed to rasp out.}

[SHADE. :D]

ibbonkit looked at Butterflypaw, adament once again. "I don't want a daddy!" she announced, before running into the nursery. Her tone invited no cat to run after her.
Sunjinx sighed and looked at her mate. "This isn't the Silver I remember, a snivelling little kit," she teased.

_{Butterflypaw sighed and ran after her, though ended up stopping. Butterscotch walked out and licked her ears softly. "Easy now love" he said with a smile, Butterflypaw relaxed and purred, nuzzling him before she walked off into the Apprentice Den. Silver chuckled and then flatted himself against the ground, "Oh but I am a kitten Mommy" he mewed squeakily before chuckling again.}

[SHADE. :D]

"That's better," purred Sunjinx, licking her mate's muzzle. Whatever Ribbonkit thought, she was desperately glad to have her mate back again. "Perhaps we should talk to her." She meowed with caution.

_{He purred and licked her nose before looking into the Nursery, eyes gracing Butterscotch's sweet pelt for a moment. He almost got lost in it before shaking his head,. "Who's that chap over there" he said flicking his ears towards the Bright looking tom. He then concentrated on his task. "Yes, we should" he said quietly.}

[SHADE. :D]

Sunjinx twitched her ears in annoyance when her mate stared at the other tom. "Butterscotch," she meowed stiffly. "After you," she added.

_{"Oh" was all he muttered briefly before stalking over to the Nursery, past the tom named Butterscotch and inside. Butterflypaw watched him before going back to sleep. "Ribbonkit" he murmured gently, walking into the shadows of the den, eyes soft.}

[SHADE. :D]

Sunjinx followed her mate, sitting beside him the warm gloom of the nursery. She looked fondly at last kit, and suddenly wanted to seize her and hide her beneath her paws. A shiver ran down her spine. Ribbonkit was nearly five moons old, she could take care of herself, but what if Greencough struck again. Licking her lips nervously, Sunjinx settled don to watch.
Ribbonkit opened one eye. The icy blueness of her gaze hardened when she spotted Silver, but her gaze swept over the bengal as if he was not there, and rested on her mother. "Hi, mamma." she mewed. The ginger-and-white queen dipped her head. Ribbonkit looked up at Silver. "Whadda you want?" she half-growled.

_{He flicked his ears back and forth for a short period of time before he took a deep breath. "I'm sorry.. Ribbonkit I know you don't accept me as your father but I am, I feel like horrible Father for not being there I know and I just wish for you to understand that I love you, forgive me, please" he spoke out clearly, eyes going slightly glassy for a moment as tears threatened to spill again.}

[SHADE. :D]

Ribbonkit struggled to her paws, her beautiful coat stuck up with dust. She shook herself, and replied, sounding tearful again: "How can you love me? You don't even know me! You wern't even here! You never met them, so how can you care about them?" She meowed, speaking of her dead sister and brothers. One tear fell as she thought of her snow-white twin, Snowykit. She had been the last to perish. She remembered her last sibling saying to her, in her last few mouthfuls of air, I'll never abandon you, Ribbonkit....
"But you have!" cried Ribbonkit.

<sub>"Your my kitten, your blood is mine, I will always love you Ribbonkit, always, and even though i didn't know them, I love them all two, each and every one of them, and may they hear me from StarClan when I say this" he said, a single tear sliding down his cheek. He stepped forward and wrapped himself around her, refusing to let go as he licked her ear. He didn't care is she scratched him, it didn't matter any more.

ooc; I so nearly start crying, why do we have to such good role plays. ;u;</sub>

Ooc; I know. but surely that's a good thing...?
Bic; Ribbonkit struggled a little at first but then an image of her sisters and bother came into her mind and she let out an anguished sob nd went limp. She glared at her mother, blaming her for their deaths for a single moment; then her accusing gaze switched to Silver, then to Silverpelt, where StarClan glimmered.
"I hate them," she mumbled.

_{"Its no ones fault, young one, if anything blame it on Greencough, the disease wipes out many each year, your sisters and brothers never leave you, they are always watching, always." He licked her tears away and sighed softly, resting her head on his he let his shoulders sag. "They always love you, just like I do Ribbonkit" he murmured.}

[SHADE. :D]

Ribbonkit sniffled. She glanced at her silver spangled flanks, then at Silver's. They were identical. He wasn't lying. She snuggled into his fur, too exhausted to decline his fathership anymore. Sunjinx padded over and curled her body around her mate and kit with a purr.

<sub>Silver relaxed as the kit snuggled into his fur, he licked her head softly before resting it on Sunjinx's side. "I love you" he breathed before exhaustion took over him and his eye lids drooped heavily. After a moment his breathing slowed into the steady beat of sleep.

Bic; Sunjinx purred back: "And you," hen she too fell asleep.
Ribbonkit stared up at the ceiling of the nursery, her purpl-ish eyes very wide. She sighed. Snowykit smiled down at her from the skies, along with Metallickit and her other brother. She grinned back, then snuggled down and fell into slumber.
