[color-beige]Barleypaw sniffed once more and nodded her head, "Yeah... yeah I guess so..." she muttered, bringing her paw up to her eyes and wiping them. Then she sat straight and looked at the sky. It was dull and gray. Sad. A drop of rain splattered aginst her nose. She wentcross-eyed and sniffed. Then she looked and Treepw and smiled weakly, "I just wish I had a mentor. Stormstar made me an apprentice but never gave me a mentor." Then she turned around to look at Otterkit.
Otterkit smiled sheepishly as her fur was groomed hastily by her mother. Her fur was being pulled and she could feel the dirt untangling itself from her brown fur. Otterkit groaned an dtried to push Blissclaw off, but it didn't work. THen she had no choice. She mouthed the words "Help me" towards Treepaw.

'I can if I want to!" Barrenpaw snarled back, lashing his tail. Why was everyone around here so sensitive? He didn't cry and run away like Barleypaw every time someone said something about his mother or father. Her shook his head and padded over to Barleypaw and Treepaw. Nudging Barleypaw with his muzzle, he muttered, "Look, I'm sorry. I'm just so mad at that Tawneypaw! What's wrong with her?" she sighed in a frustrated way and sat down. "I'm sorry."

Treepaw grinned as he saw Otterkit getting a washing. He hadn't the slightest idea of how to help her out of her perdicament but he turned to look at Barrenpaw came over. He smiled at him, twitching his tail in happiness that they wouldn't be at odds anymore, that is as long as Barleypaw didn't try to hold a grudge. He looked at her, hoping that she wouldn't for he hated cats to be angry at each other.

Barleypaw grunted, "Then why don't you learn to just ignor eher and walk away? She's only picking fights with you because she likes you, well, apparantly she doesn't know it yet, but everone else can tell," she finished and licked her brother's ear affectionately.
Otterkit scrambled away from her mother. She stumvbled over to Treepaw and jumped on his back, "Thanks for the help!" she mewed sarcastically.

Barrenpaw had to chuckle at Barleypaw's prediction. "You've got bees in your brain," he laughed. "There's no way that peice of fox-dung likes me." Shaking his head, he kneaded the ground with his paws. "And why would I just walk away? She deserves everything I say to her." he spat quietly. It was so strange - around his sister and, sometimes, his brother, he wasn't quite as snappy. Still bad-tempered, but in a more gentle way. Sometimes Barrenpaw envied his sister, but not often. He was a better fighter, a better hunter... right?

"But still... it would save you your breath juist to ignore her, and if you do ignore her it would probably hurt her even mor ethan just arguoing, if that's what you want," Barleypaw explained. She looked around, "I wish I had a mentor..."

// I nearly died laughing when I read your post, Greiver... Tawny liking Barren... xD
Tawnypaw lashed her tail and spat. The creamy apprentice glared at Barrenpaw, her eyes burning with loathing. "At least I know who my father was!" she hissed spitefully. "Your's was probably some rogue, crawling through leafmould every day, eating mouldy crowfood. That'd explain where you got your looks." Tawnypaw flicked one ear disdainfully and turned back to Dewpaw. She sighed and sank her claws into the grass. "I hate him," she hissed, lip curling. Her tail curled up as though she had to send her fury somewhere. Tawnypaw looked at Dewpaw. "I don't understand how you stay so calm around him." She smashed a paw into the dirt. "Most of the time, anyway."

Treepaw jumped as he felt Otterkit on his back. 'Your welcome!' He grinned and then rolled over on his side, reaching back with his paws to try and grab the kit. He loved to play, and now that Barleypaw and Barrenpaw had made up he could easily play now without a worry for her happiness. He lashed his tail on the ground as he reached for her, kicking up a little dust.

Barleypaw's eyes flashed with anger at Tawnypaw's remark, and she jumped in front of Barrenpaw before he could say anything, all her feelings immediately changed towards the apprentice and now she loathed her, "How would you know who are father was, you piece of mousedung?" she growled, her ears flat and her head low. Barleypaw's cream tail lashed vigorously from side to side, and her claws retracted and unsheathed in a rythmic motion. "You'll never know who our dad could've been! He could've been a distant relative from the great Firestar if anything! So don't you go shooting your mouth off and saying things you don't even know the truth about!" Barleypaw hissed. Then she took a step closer towards Tawnypaw and raised her head, then whispered, "And don't you ever, and I mean ever, insult my brother," her blue eyes shook in the greatest loathing and she added in a deep, threatening voice, "Or me." Barleypaw swished her tail swiftly and turned, then stalked over to the fresh-kill pile, her tail held high.
Otterkit stopped in midflight, her mouth open in awe, she had never seen the gentle Barleypaw in rage, "T-Treepaw, d-did you see that?" she turned to Treepaw, her shaking paw pointing at Barleypaw, who was eating a vole angrily over by the fresh-kill pile.

Treepaw stared at Barleypaw in amazement. 'Tawnypaw musta said somethin' real annoying to get her actin' like that!' He shook his head, not sure what to do or say. Should he go and try to comfort his sister, or should he stay out of it for now? He put his head to the side and watched his sister, after shooting Tawnypaw a venomous glare. How dare she hurt my siblings' feelings? He stood up, glaring at Tawnypaw menacingly. If she dare say another thing I'll skin her alive.

Dewpaw smiled weakly. "Guess I didnt inherit the fiery temper that you did" she said. At Barleypaws comment she leapt to her feet, shaking with anger. "How dare you talk to my sister like that! It was your brother that started it in trhe first place, boasting about how Stormstar was going to be his mentor and Tawnypaw was trying to keep his big head from exploding he was bragging so much!" she hissed and then realized something/ "And at what point did she say she knew who your father was? Thats the point, nobody knows! And i wouldnt threaten her if i were you" she finished with a snarl, her cream and brown pelt sticking up with fury and her eyes bright with anger. She glanced at Treepaw. "Back off" she said, glaring back at him and swishing her tail. She looked back at Tawnypaw. "Maybe i did inherit the fiery temper" she said, still swishing her tail.

Treepaw narrowed his eyes. 'Leave my sister alone.' He yowled loudly. Even if the other apprentices were right he would always side with his family. 'You have no right to talk to her like that, or my brother like that either you snobby stuck-up obstinate pig!' He hadn't much of an idea what those big words meant but they sounded good. His blue eyes were blazing now and his fur was standing on end. He didn't care who was right, but no one was allowed to say anything harsh to his sister or brother. He had come closer and closer to her as he spoke until at the end he was right up in her face. 'You back off!' He hissed angrily.

[ooc]. Ooh, siblings vs. siblings war!
Barrenpaw got up, fur bristling, to stand beside Barleypaw. If he weren't so angry, he could have realized that his sister did have a tempered side, and had just used it to stand up for him. "Don't say that!" he yowled, loud enough to scare a mouse on the opposite side of the forest. "Don't-say-that!" he repeated. If the proud apprentice had one huge weakness, it was the fact that he didn't know his father. He spat on the ground, hissing and kneading the ground with his claws. Unlike his siblings, who were fighting for each other, he was fighting for himself. He had to be right. His father was a loyal cat, the best cat ever. Spitting with rage, he jumped towards Tawneypaw, although his claws were scheathed.

Treepaw caterwauled a cheer to Barrenpaw. 'Yeah! Go Barrenpaw! You teach her!' He danced to one side. 'Get her!' And then to the other. 'Go Barrenpaw!' He couldn't keep still, but he didn't want to jump into the fight yet either. He just kept bouncing back and forth, cheering Barrenpaw the whole time. He usually didn't fight much, but there were some times when he got really riled up that he would willingly fight it was almost one of those times now.

Barleypaw snarled and flicked her tail, "Piece of fox-fur-filled-flea-bag!" she yowled, standing up, and approaching Dewpaw, "She did too say so!" her fur was bristling all over and her claws stayed unsheathed, "So don't you go sticking your nose in other places where they shouldn't be! Or it may never come back the same!" Barleypaw hissed, baring her teeth, her eyes seethed with anger at both of the apprentices, Stuck up, little pieces of fricked up furry fox dung... she boiled in her mind.

Tawnypaw let out a yowl, her green eyes wide. She took a step back from Barleypaw. They had always got on pretty well. And Barrenpaw had started it... Tawnypaw said nothing. She suddenly wished she could run to her mother for comfort, as she had used to when she had dug herself into a hole too deep to get out of as a young kit. Tawnypaw watched the siblings war, her lip quivering slightly. She could almost feel the tension in the air, ready to snap like lightning. She knew her father would hate this fighting. Tawnypaw got to her paws and pushed her way in between Barleypaw and Dewpaw. She eyed Barrenpaw cooly as he leapt at her, and glared at Treepaw. "We're all acting like kits!" she yowled, fur bristling. "Who cares who your bloody father was, its not like it matters!" Tawnypaw shot Barleypaw a loook, still surprised at her venom. She knew what her brother was like. "Don't ever insult my sister again, or I won't hesitate to rip your fur off." Tawnypaw spun around with great self control, though her heart throbbed with the pain of lost friendship. The she-cat sat again and licked a paw, sullenly thinking of her father. Why couldn't he be here? Not that she needed protecting. Especially not from them. Though Tawnypaw was sorry in her heart, she would not apologize. Not for something Barrenpaw had started.

Dewpaw snarled as Barrenpaw leapt at Tawnypaw and sprang to her feet, ready to defend her sister, all the while watching Barleypaw as the usually nice she-cat yowled in her face. She watched in surprise as Tawnypaw seemed to regain her senses and calmed down as her sister stepped in front of Barleypaw. She glared at the other three apprentices, brushing Tawnypaws shoulder with the tip of her tail in thanks for defending her. She said nothing but continued to glare at the apprentices. She liked how Treepaw had jeered but been too scared to get involved properly himself. She turned her back on the cats as her sister had done and sat next to her. She said nothing, merely licked her fur, trying to make it lie flat again. She wouldnt apologize and she knew Tawnypaw wouldnt either. Barrenpaw had started it so Barrenpaw could finish it with an apology or the feud would go on.

Stormstar was cleaning himself as a yowl split the air. He jumped, startled, and looked outside. The boasting personality of Barrenpaw that that of the stubborn Tawnypaw had caused a family-against-family battle. The leader couldn't let a civil war break out right in the middle of camp. He dashed to the Bird's Wing, leaping upon and and yowled towards the apprentices.
"Let the fighting cease!"[/sup]

Treepaw almost jumped out of his skin as Stormstar ran in and yowled at them, and he definately jumped off of the ground, probably about a foot straight off of the ground. When he landed he ran a few fox lengths and then stopped to look at Stormstar. He turned around and faced him, tail down and fur laying down, not standing up like it had been. He stood and stared at the leader, slightly embarrased but still irritated. He came back towards Stormstar. 'But Stormstar, they were talkin' mean about my sister and brother!'

Barrenpaw could have swore he was headed strait for Tawneypaw when Stormstar's yowl echoed through camp. Surprised, he spun around just before he hit the apprentice, landing in an awkward pile behind her. Spitting, he glared up at her. Stupid Tawneypaw, he thought to himself as he got up from the dusty ground and gave his flank a few licks. The matted gray-brown apprentice shook himself before yelling an explanation up to Stormstar - he was suddenly a little embarrassed, but there was no way he would let that show - "It's Tawneypaw's stupid fault! She said my father was probably a rouge! I know he wasn't!" Barrenpaw spat on the ground and lashed his tail a couple of times.

Barleypaw sniffed angrily and sheathed her claws. She turned swiftly and brushed past Stormstar, ignoring the leader and his yowl. She stomped back over to the fresh-kill pile and laid down on her side, facing away from the other apprentices. Then Barleypaw remembered something, her ears perked and she shot back over to Stormstar, "Stormstar! I need a mentor!" she yipped.

Dewpaw glared at the other apprentices. "No one likes a tell-tale@ she hissed under her breath. She kept quiet, although she knew that stupid Barrenpaw had started it with his stupid boasting. She looked up at Stormstar and dipped her head slightly in acknowledgement of his words. Skyflight came out of the warriors den as she heard the commotion. She heard Stormstar and listened to the apprentices reply. "Don't answer back to your leader, just accept what he says! And i'm sure hes aware of you not having a mentor Barleypaw" she shouted to the toms and said to the she-cat. She looked up at Stormstar lovingly and gave a small purr, before sitting down to groom herself.

Treepaw snorted in laughter as Skyflight shouted at them and then went all 'lovey' for Stormstar. He giggled, his playful grin covering his face, but he pushed it down enough to meow, 'I'm sorry Stormstar.' He said it with a mischevious glimmer in his eyes. He turned around, looking at Barleypaw with the grin covering his face again, he fluttered his eyes, let out a quiet but audible purr and fluffed up his pelt.

Skyflight sighed and sat down. "Barleypaw, i would offer to tkae you out with Tawnypaw but i dont think that would go down too well, with either of you" she said, flicking her tail. Tawnypaw noticed Barrenpaw crumpling in a heap behind her and could not surpress a whisker's twitch of satisfaction. The brown and white apprentice's tail tensed as Stormstar appeared, and she turned around. The apprentice ducked her head in embarrasment and obedience. "Sorry, Stormstar," she muttered. "It was my fault." The she-cat shot Barrenpaw a glare as he spoke. "That's mature," she mewed under her breath, not caring whether Barrenpaw heard or not. Tawnypaw jumped as Skyflight appeared. She dipped her head to her mentor, feeling awkward. Her embarrasment grew. The she-cat looked up at Skyflight's suggestion. The brown and white apprentice turned to look at Barleypaw for a moment, her green eyes locking onto the other apprentice's bright blue one's. She looked away, tail tip flicking. She regretted their lost friendship, and knew that Barleypaw had been standing up for herself just as much as her brother. But the cream coloured she-cat knew her brother had started it. Tawnypaw sniffed and said nothing, padding over to sit docilely beside Dewpaw.
Dragonflydance's ear twitched as Midnightlove was sick. She blinked; there was no poisonous residue visible. No scraps of leaf, or spots of scarlet berry. The snowy she-cat gave a purr, shutting her dark, sky blue eyes. When she opened her eyes again, they were brimming with joy. "My dear," she mewed, though the warrior was in fact older than her. "You are going to bear CloudClan kits." The medicine cat gave the warrior's dark ear a quick lick. "Congratulations. They are Eaglefeather's, I suppose?" Dragonflydance looked up at the cloud-ridden sky, as though already reading the unborn kits' destinys. "They will be great warriors."

[ooc]:// Shade, you forgot Ribbontail in the activity check. You got too many kitties.
Midnightlove watched patiently as the medicine cat inspected the lump on the ground for signs of what was wrong with her. When Dragonflydance announced what was to happen, the black she-cat's sapphire eyes began brimming with tears of joy. "For real...?" she choked, petrified with an odd mixture of happiness and utter shock. "I can't believe it...."
Stormstar's lightning yellow eyes scanned the cats in the clearing. "Okay, calm down everyone," the leader mewed, leaping down from the Bird's Wing and signalling for the apprentices to gather. "Barleypaw, I know you need a mentor. I am in the process of matching up mentors and apprentices." The gray tom began to again address the whole group. "I will let you off the hook this time. But the next time I find a war between a bunch of apprentices breaking out in my camp, you'll all be cracking ticks and changing bedding for the elders." His eyes narrowed to irritated slits. "Understand?"
