New Mentors

Stormstar padded out from his den into the warm sun. Something suddenly snapped to his head-he still needed to find mentors for Dewkit and Tawnykit! His eye darted around the clearing. He then dedcided on a mentor for Tawnykit. "Skyflight?" he called.

Eaglefeather padded across the clearing, jaws full of prey. He hadn't seen Midnightlove in a while, and was wondering what had become of her. He dropped the kill on the pile and thrust his head into the warriors den. 'Midnightlove?' he mewed softly.

Midnightlove was roused from a nap by her mate's call. She blinked open her sleepy eyes to see the soft gaze of Eaglefeather's green eyes. "Oh, hi Eaglefeather," she mewed with a smile.

Eaglefeather padded up to the black she-cat. 'Morning. Do you want to go hunting with me later?' he asked, still quietly so he didn't wake the other warriors.

Midnightlove was pleased at th offer. "Yes, I'd absolutely love to." she pushed up her once undergrown body and padded over to her mate, rasping her her tongue quickly over his cheek.

Eaglefeather purred and wound his tail round hers. He padded from the den, motioning her to follow him.

Midnightlove trotted behind Eaglefeather as he motioned for her to. "Where will we go hunting at?"

Eaglefeather dragged a large rabbit off the pile. 'Here, let's share.' he said. Then, answering her question, he said, 'How about... Cloudy Hills? There's always lots of prey there.'

Midnightlove nodded. "Sounds good. And maybe I can sharpen my skills. I don't think I've been hunting ever since I came here."

Eaglefeather took a bite of fresh kill. 'That's true. Cloudy Hills is full of prey, so you'll be fine!' he said, swallowing.

Midnightlove took a mouse from the pile and nodded.

Eaglefeather watched Midnightlove. 'Don't you want this?' he asked, motioning towards the rabbit. He shrugged his shoulders and put it back on the pile, choosing a small thrush. He sat close to the black she-cat, so that their pelts brushed.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't notice it," she mewed, horribly embarrassed. She took a bite from her mouse.

(Eh, stupid me, not reading posts all the way through.)

Eaglefeather chuckled. 'It's okay. The elders will appreciate it more than us anyway.' he said. He yawned widely, then finished off his thrush. He buried the remains and stretched his legs.

Midnightlove gulped down the rest of her mouse, bury the remains as her mate did.

Eaglefeather looked at his mate. She was extremely beautiful. He smiled to himself, then blinked. 'Shall we get going now?' he asked.

Skyflight trotted out of the warriors den when she heard Stormstars call. She padded up to the leader nervously, not wanting to show how much she liked the tom. He definetely wouldnt feel the same way. "Yes, Stormstar? Did you want me for something?" she meowed softly, feeling a hot blush flare up beneath her blue-grey pelt. She looked at the ground.

"Skyflight," Stormstar mewed. "Would you be interested in taking on an apprentice?"

Skyflight looked up in surprise."Me?"

[/i] she gasped. She then bit her lip nervously at her outburst and meowed "Eh, yeah of course! It would be great!". She jiggled from foot to foot, her heart beating twice its normal speed. Why couldnt she just relax?[/size][/center][/color]

Stormstar smiled. "Great! Can you mentor Tawnykit?"

Skyflight smiled and nodded enthuisiastically. "I would love to. She seems a really nice little kit and full of fun." she purred, thinking of the kits. She wandere off into her own thinking of kits and blushed again. She had been thinking of one tom in particular as the kits father.

Stormstar blinked in thanks. "Thanks, Skyflight." He then turned around and prowled off to find his next mentor, but he suddenly couldn't get his mind away from Skyflight. Of course, he knew of all cats he would trust her to do anything for him. But why?

Skyflight dipped her head to Stormstar as he turned to go. She watched him walking away with a look of longing in her eyes. She shook her head. Hard. Turning, she padded over to the fresh kill pile. She sniffed for a moment and then backed off. Her hunger had gone. Looking around she saw a shaded patch and went over to it. She plomped down with a sigh. She didnt know what to do. How could a silly little she-cat like her ever have anything special with the mighty leader of CloudClan?

Pushing his mind away from Skyflight, Stormstar searched for a mentor for Dewkit. Then he saw Eaglefeather eating fresh-kill with his mate, Midnightlove. "Eaglfeather," he mewed, padding over to the tom, "I need to ask you something."

[SHADE. :D]

Tawnykit narrowed her eyes against the glare of the rising sun. Her jaws stretched wide in a yawn. Ribbontail's kitting had made it impossible to sleep last night. Cloakedlaw was still in the nursery with his kits. Tawnykit was bored of laying with Dewkit, Indigokit and Hailkit, and had seen the new kits enough times. Thogh it was still quite early, she had ventured from the nursery. The brown and white kit shook her short fur before padding up to Skyflight. "Hi, Skyflight," she mewed. "Ribbontail had her kits last night. She called them Dapplekit, Frostkit and Tansykit." The she-kit noticed Stormstar, and wondered whether he would think to visit the new litter.

Eaglefeather looked around from where he was about to leave camp. 'Sure, thank you Stormstar!' he said, dipping his head respectfully to the leader.

Stormstar chuckled. "I suppose you knew what I was about to say then? I want you to mentor Dewkit.</sup>

Ooc: Oh, sorry!!! Scratch my last post, say he said, Hi Stormstar. xDDD I'm an idiot.
Bic: Eaglefeather turned to his elader. 'You want me to mentor Dewkit? Sure! Thank you Stormstar!' he said. He had never had an apprentice before, and couldn't wait to show Dewkit what he knew.

Skyflight smiled as Tawnykit approached her. "Wow, thats great Tawnykit! And those are good names." she purred smiling, deciding not to tell Tawnykit that she was going to mentor her. It would be far more fun as a surprise.
