Amethyststar crashed through the barrier around the CloudClan camp, Her black fur was soaked and plastered to her hin body from her swim across the surrounding stream. It had not been an easy one, at that. She shook some of the moisture from her thick fur, amber eyes troubled, and padded over to where she knew Cormorantstar's den to be. "Cormorantstar, you have to listen to me! This is important! MoonClan refused to listen! Please!"
Skytomb padded from the warriors' den and at the sight of Amethyststar, bristled. Yet he said nor did nothing, waiting for his leader's command. |

Snowstorm almost leapt out of her fur as Amethyststar crashed into their camp. She ran up to the leader and bristled slightly. She stood behind her, wondering what her leader would do about Amethyststar. She shook her white pelt and licked her lips. Her bright blue eyes darted into Cormorantstar's den.

Amethyststar waited impatiently for Cormorantstar. She and Ravencurse still had to warn BrightClan and SerenityClan before she could return to her own clan. She hoped they were all safe under Fernpelt's care. |

Cormorantstar had been resting from the fight with Lonelyheart. His wounds seemed to be healing nicely but he couldn't get her and Lemonzest out of his head. He liked Lemonzest but he wasn't sure what to do. He knew she hated him. But them Amethsytstar's voice was what he heard. He stood and padded to the entrance of his den. He was calm and unafraid nor angry. "Yes?"he asked calmly. |

Skytomb purred and nuzzled his mate. "Let's see what all this i about," he mewed in hushed tones.
Amethyststar looked up at Cormorantstar, and a sudden wildly haunted look entered her dark amber eyes. She began to explain herself, voice high and slightly uncontrolled with fear. Amethyststar was not usaully scared easily. "Ravencurse, Spicetalon and I all travelled to the Moonshard yestarday to share tongues with StarClan. But when I ried to, a voice said in my ear 'you will all die' or something like that, I can't remember exactly, and I couldn't contact StarClan! Something is blocking us off from our ancestors! Lunardance and I have been vaguely aware of some strange presence in our camp, and more cats than usaul have been dying recently: my own grandson, Aspenkit, and two perfectly healthy warriors, Webpelt and Ashmask, and last one of our elders, Sprucefeather. At first we thought it was coincidence, but..." She stared up at the grey tom, silently begging him to listen to her.
Lemonzest slunk silently into camp, sitting by herself. |

The blue eyes of Cormorantstar narrowed as he listened but when he saw her pleading face, they softened as he gazed at the leader. "I believe you,"he meowed strongly and turned to face his Clan. "We haven't lost any cats as sudden as you say you lost yours. But I will keep an eye out." He paused a second to think that StarClan was blocked. "And is StarClan is blocked then..."he meowed though not finishing his sentence. He looked at Amethyststar with a gaze full of worry. He hoped she knew what he meant. |

Skytomb smiled and nodded. His yellow eyes idened as he heard Amethyststar's message. "StarClan, blocked?" he shuddered. Then he seemed to not want to frighten his mate, so mewed: "Why don't we ask Midnightsky, Dragonflydance, Halopaw and Shoalpaw to come?"
Amethyststar let out a heavy breath in relief. "Thankyou, Cormorantstar," she seemed to understand the leader's worry. She looked up at the darkening sky and bit her lip. She and Ravencurse had to find somewhere to stay so that they would be fit to deliver the important message to BrightClan and SerenityClan the next day.
Lemonzest listened to the message with narrowed eyes, were tail kinked in worry. |

Cormorantstar stood tall as he gazed at Amethyststar his face full of worry but he looked up at the sky as well. He noticed it was begining to get late he looked back down at the leader and meowed,"You mustn't leave now and stay for the night. If you don't take my offer than you must leave this territory now." He gazed at his Clan. He spotted Lemonzest and for a moment just wanted to go over to her but he would wait until his guests leave or get settled in this Clan for the night. |

Snowstorm listened in intently. They were going to die? Sounded like foxdung to her, but it was her leaders call. She let out a deep sigh and hauled herself to her paws, wondering if anyone wanted to go hunting. She was a little curious about the cat being blocked off from Starclan, how could that happen?

Amethyststar looked at Cormorantstar, dipping her head graciously. "We will take you up on your offer: thankyou." She padded away from the CloudClan warriors and sat alone, eyes glazed.
Lemonzest caught Cormorantstar's eye and looked away, feeling uncomfortable. |

Cormorantstar nodded and padded over to Lemonzest. His walk was calm but tried not to look worried. He sat next to her and asked,"Please just tell me what is wrong?" His voice was sad and nervous. His eyes fell on the ground and he sigh quietly. |

Cormorantstar sighed and thought deeply about what to say. He finally murmured,"Me neither." He looked up at Lemonzest, his eyes were almost full of sadness but he looked back down when he saw she was looking at him. |

Cloakedpaw, always the nosy one, padded over to Amethystar. "Hello!" he meowed happily. "Want some fresh-kill?"
"Okay!" meowed Icelily. "Midnightsky, Dragonflydance! Wanna hunt?" she asked.
"Sure," came the deep purr. It was Midnightsky.

Amethyststar turned to face the ginger tabby, and gave a small smile at the young apprentice's eagerness. "If Cormorantstar does not mind sharing," she mewed.
Skytomb smiled as his son approached. "Shoalpaw, Halopaw?" He called into the crowd of cats. Halopaw padded slowly over, her ginger tail dragging in the dust. Skytomb nuzzled his daughter, but the little cat did not respond. Dragonflydance padded just behind her sister, her sleek white pelt clean and her sapphire eyes warm. "Sure," the medicine cat purred.
Lemonzest suddenly snuggled into Cormorantstar's chest, face screwed up. "Don't leave me." She begged. |

Shoalpaw had been in the midst of the crowd of cats when he heard his father's voice. He bounded over to meet him and the rest of his family. "Yeah?"he asked.
Cormorantstar looked down at Lemonzest and smiled lovingly. Even a single tear fell from his shining blue eyes. It fell on Lemonzest's head and Cormorantstar licked it away. "Never again,"he purred. |

Skytomb smiled at his son, and apprentice. "Would you two like to go hunting with your mother, Midnightsky, Dragonflydance and I?"
Halopaw muttered something indistinct. When her father stared at her quizzicaly, she mewed louder, and in a much clearer voice: "OK." At least it will keep my mind off of that traitor Eaglefeather, she decided.
Lemonzest looked up at him with joy in her eyes. "Can.. Can we go somewhere a bit more private?" She requested earnestly. |

Shoalpaw shrugged and meowed,"Sure, I'm fine with that." He stretched and yawned before licking his sister's ear. He had known what had happen with Eaglefeather but he knew that he wouldn't be able to help her now. Sighing, he looked back up for his father and waited for instructions.
Cormorantstar nodded. "My den?"he suggested with a sly smile. |

Halopaw did not react until a few long moments after she felt her brother's touch, when she turned to look blankly at him. Skytomb narrowed his eyes in concern, but said nothing; he knew better than to pry into his children's lives, especially his daughters.
Lemonzest grinned and purred. "Sure."

Shoalpaw sighed and looked away. He was trying to be comforting but that, he guessed, wasn't suposed to be right.
Cormorantstar smiled and stood. He padded toward his den. As he passed Amethyststar he meowed,"You may eat from our pile." He gazed at the leader with a stirn face before continuing to his den.

Cloakedpaw ran over and grabbed a rabbit and a vole. "Here's a rabbit for you Amethystar. A vole for your friend. Call me if you need me! The name's Cloakedpaw!" he bowed his head and padded off.
Midnightsky looked at his sister, Halopaw, concerned.
Icelily nodded and meowed, "Let's go!"

Snowstorm watched the patrol get ready to head out. She sighed, she hadn't beem invited. Ah well... she should be organizing a border patrol right about now. She looked around for cats to go.

Sunjinx padded from the nursery, followed by a disgrunted-looking Ribbonkit. She sat behind her mother, kneading the ground in annpyance with her silver paws. She seemed absurbly large compared to the other nursery kits; a sign he was ready for apprenticeship.
Sunjinx smiled and dipped her head respectfully to Snowstorm. She then mewed: "I can go on patrol if you want."
"Can I come?" piped up Ribbonkit.
"No, darling, kits aren't allowed to patrol," mewed Sunjinx, something close to frustration in her voice. It was obvious she was longing to be freed from her duties as a queen. |
